She was going to tone it down a little bit, but she was a firm believer in that the best deals come with both parties involved walking away

They've made a point of marking the Enclave as an enemy, and the Enclave just annexed part of their boarder. If they want to keep that nationalistic spirit going, Roam's going to have to respond, and soon."

  23. [2017-01-18 14:49:15] * Golden_Dream opens her mouth to say something back, but utterly cannot. She seems to have actually come up to the end of her strength. She can't do this without someone to call her own. "... Fine. Fine, but I got a present fer y'
  24. [2017-01-18 14:50:37] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana teases with a smile, "I bet it's food."
  25. [2017-01-18 14:50:46] * Golden_Dream gets something out of her "things to sell" bag and pulls out her crossbow. "You're gonna learn t' use this thing. When th' fightin' happens, if you do decide to help out for whatever reason, it's gonna be far away from th' action, and with this here implement. Is that clear?"
  26. [2017-01-18 14:51:07] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana stares with surprise. Then nods in agreement.
  27. [2017-01-18 14:51:47] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Captain Wameli watches the exchange. She speaks again, first to her son. Then to everyone. Mwana translates.
  28. [2017-01-18 14:53:01] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"I think," Mwana translates, "You have two objectives once you get to Roam. The first is the catacombs. That's where they throw all their prisoners. That will be where you rescue your ghoul friend, as well as the diplomats from the N.C.R. and their changeling queen."
  29. [2017-01-18 14:53:41] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"Noble_Heart has been in there, so she would be the best pony to talk to about how to get in and what it will be like in there."

[2017-01-18 14:56:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Captain Wameli (via her son) says, "Since you want to deal with the changelings in the most non-combative way you can, I think your best bet is to get to the Imperial Broadcast Station, which is adjacent to Caesar's Palace. That's where they make their 'Daily Love' broadcasts. So that is the best way to speak to the citizens of Roam en-masse."

Considering how fast the army will react, you'll probably want to try to hit both objectives simultaneously, rather than deal with either under a state of high alert."

  35. [2017-01-18 15:19:23] * Golden_Dream gets out her current armor, then hoofs it over to Shatara. She wasn't going to be using it anymore. "Hey, y'all. I want y' t' make this Mwana sized. Yeah, sorry, that means that it won't be quite as fun to look th' wearer in th' butt, but it's needed fer' me. I ain'

  37. [2017-01-18 15:21:09] * Shatara frowns a little. "Yeah, probably..."
  38. [2017-01-18 15:24:20] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow coughs into a hoof. "There's one possible complication. But hopefully, with speed and stealth, you can avoid it."
  39. [2017-01-18 15:26:21] * Noble_Heart frowned slightly. "We are concerned about the safety of Our friends in the catacombs. But perhaps it would be best if We went to the radio, yes." She glanced towards the others. "Unless there is another who believes they might be able to move the hearts of the Roaman people?"
  40. [2017-01-18 15:29:16] * Mitzi shakes her head. "Uh knew how tu appeal to Ur own kind, but Uh dunno about stripee ponees."
  41. [2017-01-18 15:30:16] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow continues, "To get into Roam, you will have to fly over the Anulus Mortis. That shouldn't be a problem if you just fly high and fast enough. But don't forget about the plant plague there and the monsters it animates."

[2017-01-18 15:31:37] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"Likewise," Citrine says, "Be aware that Dragon Lord Ember has been able to confirm rumors that something has been drawing the shadow-things to the Anulus Mortis. She believes many shadow-beings have taken up residence inside the dead creatures animated by the plants."
  43. [2017-01-18 15:32:19] * Bookwright "All of those words you just said make me extremely glad that we're going to be flying over this place instead of trying to trek through it."
  44. [2017-01-18 15:32:59] * Golden_Dream gives a little bout of laughter. "Well that's what th' stealth is for! Right?" She drops the smile. "... Right?" Things got a lot less amusing very fast when Citrine brought up that little tidbit. "... How do we protect our shadows? Do we all jus' stand directly below a real bright light?"
  45. [2017-01-18 15:35:13] * Noble_Heart contemplates that. "We go at night." She frowned. "On a moonless night with no stars, preferably. When there are no shadows to be cast."
  46. [2017-01-18 15:36:50] * Bookwright "Is one of those coming up?" He frowns. "Actually, I have an almanack. I can check."
  47. [2017-01-18 15:36:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow taps hooves together, then states sadly, "Dragon Lord Ember suspects that the changeling Caesar may be attempting to use a Dragon-made artifact, and the behavior of the shadows is a side-effect."

  49. [2017-01-18 15:37:22] * Mitzi looks to Citrine Glow. "Wut artfact?"
  50. [2017-01-18 15:38:52] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"The Obsidian Scepter," Citrine Glow says. "Garble's Scepter."
  51. [2017-01-18 15:39:30] * Golden_Dream looks around as if that were meant to mean something heavy. "... What's that do?" She asked bluntly.
  52. [2017-01-18 15:42:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow sighs. "Remember, there was a schism. Ember took over the position of Dragon Lord from Garble. Garble and His loyalists fled back to Roam."
  53. [2017-01-18 15:44:40] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"The Dragon Lord has a magical artifact called the Bloodstone Scepter, a symbol of rulership. With it, the Dragon Lord can summon dragons to His or Her beck and call."
  54. [2017-01-18 15:46:29] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow notes, "Of course, after the schism, Garble had His own version of the scepter made." She says, "The magic of the scepter is only supposed to work for the Dragon Lord, but a changeling transformed to pretend /might/ be able to fool it."
  55. [2017-01-18 15:48:37] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"But the Caesar isn't a real dragon, no matter what form she takes. If she is trying to use the scepter to summon loyal allies, or coalesce her people around her, who knows what weird things might happen instead... and many of the shadow-things /were/ zebras loyal to Caesar in life."
  56. [2017-01-18 15:51:43] * Bookwright feels the color drain from his face. "You're saying if we don't hurry we could face an army of shadows?"
  57. [2017-01-18 15:53:06] * Noble_Heart scowls in concern. "No. She is saying if we do not hurry we may face an army of -seraphs-."
  58. [2017-01-18 15:53:18] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Citrine Glow frowns. "That is a possibility."
  59. [2017-01-18 15:54:15] * Shatara listens pensively, rolling a dart over his talons in thought. "So...how does that anti-bugdisguise stuff work? Would it be possible utilize an...alternate delivery method?"
  60. [2017-01-18 15:55:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3"Although the Bloodstone Scepter doesn't compel a dragon to /obey/ once the dragon has arrived... just makes the dragon act on the summons. I would assume the Obsidian Scepter is the same... unless Garble royally cracked with its creation."
  61. [2017-01-18 15:56:27] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mwana answers Shatara, "Probably. Thinking of paint-grenades?"
  62. [2017-01-18 15:57:47] * Shatara hmms. "I was thinking possibly darts, but if it needs coverage, grenades would be better."
  63. [2017-01-18 16:02:09] * Golden_Dream raises an eyebrow at Mwana and Shatara's conversation. "I dunno. I gotta admit, there's an appeal to figurin' out jus' how many paint-tipped darts it takes to expose that shitstain on a throne."
  64. [2017-01-18 16:03:27] * Bookwright "One is probably enough."
  65. [2017-01-18 16:04:50] * Bookwright "But even if we do expose the Caesar as a fraud, would it be enough? The citizens of Roam like what they're hearing. I don't know if they'd stop in their tracks just because we revealed the changeling."
  66. [2017-01-18 16:16:47] * Noble_Heart frowns. "We believe it is the same thing that was used upon us by Rasdon, at a guess. Though We admit to being uncertain of that."
  67. [2017-01-18 16:18:56] * Golden_Dream sighs, then looks at Bookwright. "Bookie, if we expose 'em, and tell them what's happening, and tell them what all was /intentionally hid from them/, and back it up with proof, then we did everything we could. Remembering is a virtue. Learning is a choice."
  68. [2017-01-18 16:42:48] * Bookwright "That's all fine and dandy, but will it stop a charging zebra with a spear and the intent to murder for her Caesar?"
  69. [2017-01-18 16:44:55] * Noble_Heart shakes her head. "If we wish to win this battle, and We do, we must not just expose the truth but make our intentions be clear. As We told Golden Buckle: We must ever endeavour to be the better people. To show the Zebras that we are not savages, monsters or aggressors. Nor do we wish a conflict or battle here. We come in peace, for their sake as well as ours."
  70. [2017-01-18 16:46:48] * Noble_Heart looked to Golden Dream. "We would like you to go with Bookwright and Mitzi to rescue Miss Ditzy Doo from the catacombs." She holds out a foreleg with the clearly-refurbished PipBuck upon it. "Take this with you as well. It was given to Us by the keepers of the catacombs as part of Our deal for freedom. It contains proof that you are Our friend, and that We have dealt with
  71. [2017-01-18 16:46:49] * Noble_Heart the Cult of LIV, as Our bargain entailed."
  72. [2017-01-18 16:59:45] * Bookwright sucks his teeth. "I still can't believe we actually did that. Feels like a weird dream."
