A Long-Awaited Reunion [Touhou. Finished but v. silly]

"Sanae! Finally, after years of searching, I've found you! Do you know how hard it was to find you? I spent all of my free time trying to figure out where you'd gone! I was only able to determine your general location after I followed a hunch and mapped out the strange disappearances and occurrences from over the past 100 years or so.

"Then I had to figure out how to get through! I battered my head in with the most advanced physics textbooks every night. No luck. Then I looked into more mystical methods, but everything I found was either false or useless!

"But by pure chance I met a wandering magician who stopped in my father's shop. I only realized his true nature from the faint trace of his aura that I had taught myself to detect through the collection of ancient, psyche-damaging tomes kept by an eccentric old man that I did part-time work for so I could pay for all the physics textbooks.

"I begged the wizard to train me. He refused, and left, so I tracked him down! He pretended not to notice me. I slept outside the inns he stayed at, waited outside the restaurants he ate at, asking him each time he came to the outside whether he had changed his mind. Still, he would not train me. It was only when I had waded through a flooding river after him during a raging hurricane barely able to keep myself upright that he agreed.

"The training was torturous. Because I had no talent for magic past the reading of auras, it was required that I sacrifice years off the end of my life to a nameless being from another plane of existence. The experience left me in a coma for three months, and stole the vision from my left eye.

"Over time, I learned how to detect and use magic. To become a true magician, my teacher required me to hunt down a murderous cannibalistic wizard who trapped his victims with geasa and gained power and strength from eating their hearts.

"I tracked him down to a small Chinese village. I was ambushed. He was waiting for me, and commanded the bodies of others he had slain to attack me as well. His strange knife cut into me, and with every stab I could feel my blood being leeched away to feed whatever deity had granted him his powers.

"It was only when he was about to finish me off that I managed to overpower him, drawing a terrible and secret symbol across his face with my own blood to burn away his psyche. As he screamed in agony, his zombies falling to dust as he lost control, I broke his neck. And then I devoured his heart as he had devoured so many others, taking his power for myself.

"When I returned to my teacher, my enemy's blood still wet at the corners of my lips, I found he had decided to pass on. He had left a letter for me by his bedside, telling me that now, finally, I had power enough to travel through the barrier you had hidden yourself behind and find you again.

"And so, at last, here I am.

Anyway, you dropped your eraser. I figured I'd give it to you the next day at school but then you never showed up, so, you know."
