Others are not evil by themselves. But most of ones who corrupt players are crazy by their own standards.

Levels of corruption:
1) Player likes Others
2) Player uses Other's power (Spoiler: Others just really effectively use his/her own pluck)
3) Player uses a lot of Other's power. Like, godtier levels of power. He/she is also covered in dark cloud and talks corrupt.
4) Player is completely controlled by Others. He calls himself "voice of the legion" or something, so it's easy to detect.

Corrupt languages:
1) High Corrupt. Looks like this: "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn." Others who talk like that are usually from The Noble Circle of Horrorterrors. They are the most sane Others.
2) Default Corrupt. Looks like this: "S̶̴̨a̴͘͘͞ḿ̸̸̧͡p̡ļ͏͘͝e̸̡͘͞ ̶̡̡͘t̨҉̛͢͜è̴x̷̧́͟͢t̵̢͡͡". Younger(but sane) Others talk like that. Basically, it's an interlinear translation to Corrupt, so it's possible to extract words that make sense. Fun fact: corrupted names are just way Other's translator works.
3) Low Corrupt. Completely garbled texts that make no sense, like: "ЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁЁ". Usually a sign of crazy Others.
