  2. PapeeCee: Yo bud, hows it going ?
  3. SimCox: Not too bad - yourself?
  4. PapeeCee: Pretty decent thanks.
  5. PapeeCee: Stressful day already.
  6. SimCox: Yeah same :/ sat in work still churning away
  7. SimCox: Saw your teams reddit post at dinner and it looked like a really good fit for myself and my mate, i've replied and added all threee of you :)
  8. PapeeCee: Ah there is two of you ?
  9. PapeeCee: Awesome
  10. SimCox: Yeah - we've played cs since 1.4
  11. SimCox: and been to about 8/9 lans between us
  12. SimCox: back in 1.5/1.6
  13. SimCox: just not had the breakthrough team yet in cs:go
  14. SimCox: both decent players, been ge++ for a few years now
  15. SimCox: played in a few decent teams. IGI eSports / Play3r Gaming
  16. SimCox: but like anything cs:go too many people who arent dedicated to playing through the tough weeks
  17. SimCox: when things arent going swimmingly
  18. PapeeCee: Answering my questions without me having to ask, haha xD
  19. SimCox: sorry :)
  20. PapeeCee: Yeah, I had a team the disbanded right after a bad weeked
  21. SimCox: feel free to get a question in ;)
  22. PapeeCee: Sucked
  23. PapeeCee: Nah, no need to be sorry, saves me typing time haha
  24. PapeeCee: What roles did you both play ?
  25. SimCox: I have played entry / support - but definately prefer the support role, find I play better in a clutch situation when Ive got a bit of information to work with as apposed to entrying.
  26. SimCox: My mate was a rifle / entry and has a really emthodical play style - really good at reducing angles with smokes / flashes and always ensures the situations are favourable
  27. SimCox: methodical*
  28. PapeeCee: Sounds promosing. Obviously the more people who are capable of entrying the better. But we are looking to have a dedicated support of course.
  29. PapeeCee: Has your buddy added anyone? Can you get him to if he hasnt.
  30. SimCox: yeah I certainly can, will send him your reddit post - he's having to stay behind at work to sort some stuff, but will be on at about 6:30
  31. PapeeCee: That would be great, cheers.
  32. SimCox: we both like to get a proper warmup in before playing (im 28 and he's 26) - we dont ahve the instant snap to heads unlike you young un's :) so if you plan on giving us a tryout (which I hope you will) give us a heads up o we can get started
  33. PapeeCee: Haha, no worries. I know the feel. Tbh I never play as well without a warmup anyway. We were planning on playing a few games with players who want to tryout tonight.
  34. PapeeCee: You play ESEA?
  35. PapeeCee: Well
  36. PapeeCee: I found your profile, cant remember if you sub still
  37. SimCox: yeah we both have esea - not gonna lie though, we have both talked about dropping it recently because the servers have been terrible
  38. PapeeCee: Yeah, their servers havent been great tbh. Just would rather try people out on it as its usually better than mm tbh.
  39. SimCox: haha you won't catch us on MM :)
  40. SimCox: but yeah we can be on esea whenever
  41. PapeeCee: Great.. i dont particularly wanna mm either, but some people dont wanna esea. Sucks.
  42. PapeeCee: You have any prefered maps?
  43. PapeeCee: Or maps you really dont like?
  44. SimCox: thats my mates esea : https://play.esea.net/users/731995?tab=stats
  45. SimCox: erm, not really, we haven't done much team work on cbble and found its a tough map to play without good setups and teamwork
  46. SimCox: and inferno is a bugbear - the map aint optimised for cs:go
  47. SimCox: apart from them anything goes
  48. PapeeCee: Yeah cbble has always been a weird one. Kinda have to have multiple set ups depending on what the other team does. Inferno we would maybe like to do properly. But, as long as a team knows a few things, it kinda feels more puggy.
  49. PapeeCee: But I think Cache will be a main one, and maybe mirage
  50. SimCox: sounds good to us, cache and mirage are both pretty strong maps - as an addition - we are both very competent with an awp if the need for a double / triple awp setup is required
  51. SimCox: in fact, ive been using it more than rifles recently - so i need to get back into the old rifle practice
  52. PapeeCee: Awesome
  53. PapeeCee: And thats even better. Would prefer one of you to be secondary. I wouldnt mind it, but being lurk doesnt work so well with it.
  54. SimCox: agreed - i always look to pick up a dropped awp mid round, feel it has a huge impact on cache - so many long corridors and long range exchanges
  55. SimCox: and d2 - theirs zero reason to not have at least 2
  56. PapeeCee: Yeah cache feels like the only map where a triple is effective, so atleast that could happen. And d2, ofcourse.
  57. PapeeCee: Me personally though, I hate d2.
  58. SimCox: I dont mind it, it is very puggy though, not enough opportunity for smoke strats and preset strats
  59. SimCox: due to all the sky boxes
  60. PapeeCee: Yeah, exactly. Thats why Im not a huge fan.
  61. SimCox: theirs 3 staple strats and thats it
  62. PapeeCee: You kinda have to throw team stuff out the window and just frag
  63. SimCox: b split, a split and rush
  64. SimCox: its all about timings
  65. SimCox: and beating on rotations
  66. SimCox: or outthinking rotations
  67. PapeeCee: Yeah, haha.
  68. PapeeCee: And in pugs you never really get the map control which is so important
  69. SimCox: So Twisted the IGL?
  70. PapeeCee: Ja
  71. PapeeCee: But we are happy to have more than one voice. Some teams have 2 captains in a team which seems to work well,
  72. SimCox: fair enough, we're both willing to input into strats / setups, and pretty much know all the smokes / pop flashes for every map
  73. SimCox: short of a few
  74. SimCox: and not shy of feeding back information and throwing mid game suggesstions into the mix
  75. SimCox: obviously wont take over, but i know what you mean - IGL'in is hard, ive done it myself and sometimes you just feel like youve exhausted the options
  76. SimCox: that's when that input is great
  77. SimCox: we've also got a SHIT load of strats from our old team
  78. SimCox: some were absolutely awesome
  79. PapeeCee: Yeah, for sure. I mean the plan for going over new maps would be to get everyones suggestions. People have loads of strats under their belts, just gotta have a good play book.
  80. PapeeCee: Awesome, that would defo help of course.
  81. SimCox: you know IGI?
  82. SimCox: banks / acey / etc
  83. SimCox: won intermediate i55
  84. SimCox: we played for them: and put a load of stuff together, we parted ways because we werent playing the right roles and they were too stubborn to move things around
  85. PapeeCee: Dont think I have heard of the team. Sounds promising though
  86. PapeeCee: In terms of IGL stuff, I think seeing the pros move their IGL around to different people is something i wanna keep an open mind about
  87. PapeeCee: Ive also done it, and yeah, it is super hard. But as long as there is a synergy in the team, I think it can bounce between different people comfortably
  88. SimCox: you tend to find people who are more comfortable or have a better understanding of a map can take a lead on that map
  89. SimCox: well buddy, I best get back to work - done nothing for the last 30mins :/
  90. SimCox: will catch ya when im home
  91. PapeeCee: Haha, no worries.
  92. PapeeCee: Gimme a shout when you are around and I can let you know when we can play.
  93. SimCox: will do
  94. PapeeCee: Awesome.
