Karina, Primer and Lily got to do some shopping, Keen spoke with the DJ and, while his pursuit of those resonsible for the destruction of Porcelain Oasis was unfruitful, the DJ himself point Keen on the path towards making Karina's Stable Settlement project a reality. As it turns out, he may yet have a distant livign relative!
[13:41] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Meanwhile, Desert_Storm left the group when prompted by her younger brother to perform a covert task for the Enclave. If and when she'll return is anyone's guess. On the lighter side of things, Wraith` and Cure had a wonderful day together, allowing the reclusive glowing doctor to come out of her hundred and sixty year shell.

Had to admit, he was pretty glad that they decided to go with this route. Though he was concerned for Primer's well being still. "So Cauliflower, what did you feel like doing today?"

I really liked our time together. I haven't had this type of attention in over a century." The rotted but muscular dark purple coated stallion gets up and goes to equip his items.

Turns out he was the one who actually started repairing the factory. 07[14:30] * @Wraith` recovers his mouth wrappings and looks at the ghoulette with deep affection, before turning away and heading downstairs, going outside of the hospital. Once outside, he looks at the cloudy sky and closes his eyes, taking a deep breath. He felt so good, he just wanted to keep smiling forever. However the task was at hoof. Sneaking, the stallion makes his way back to his squad.
15[14:31] * +Karina giggles and settles down as Primer gets up. She gives a soft sigh, then sits up as well and gives Primer a nuzzle before getting off the bed. "Seeing them might never be a thrill, but as for getting used to them... I'm sure you will."
04[14:32] * +Primer looks up at Keen and gives him a hesitant smile. "No, don't worry, come in." She gives Karina a grateful smile and swings her hindlegs off the bed, where, due to equine anatomy, they poke straight out into the room.
15[14:34] * +Karina glances at Keen, then moves over to her gear and starts idly messing about with it.
[14:34] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 On his way back to the group's home, Wraith decides to take a shortcut, and stumbles across a demolished convenience store. The inside is accessible, but by some small fortune, something just inside the front door seems to have survived. A case of beer bottles. Sadly, all but one of them are broken.
07[14:36] * @Wraith` furrows his brow. Well that sucked. An entire case of beer and only one remaining. Still... it seemed slightly weird for a case of beer to be right at the front door. He looks around, making sure he wasn't being followed... Oh! EFS! Definitely had to utilize that nifty feature.
[14:37] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith` isn't being followed, but he can see a small cluster of lights. They don't register as immediately hostile.
07[14:39] * @Wraith` looks in the direction of the lights for a moment. Maybe not hostile now, but who knows when they recognize him for a ghoul. Fuck it, he had to make sure his team was fine. Going towards the lone beer, he makes sure there's no traps of the sort in the doorway or otherwise, as he goes to retrieve the beverage.

07[14:40] * @Wraith` takes the lone beer and stashes it, then sneakily resumes his trek back to the apartment.

07[14:42] * +Keen coughs into his hoof. "Right. I was just going to say that I think I may have found something for you." He fiddled with his pipbuck to bring up the message first. "Um. First, we might find the spell in Shantyshod. Second, I think I could do something about your lack of..." He didn't quite know the words. "Feeling."

The ghoul proceeds to light the cigarette and smoke it, putting everything else away, while unwrapping his wrappings about his mouth.

15[15:32] * +Karina rolls her eyes at Wraith`, then digs around for a minute and pulls out a choker with a ruby set in it. She pulls out a clean cloak and stuffs it in her mouth then puts the necklace on. Bat wings proceed to, painfully, sprout from her body. Yay!
07[15:32] * +Primer smiles at Keen, one of the few true smiles since the alteration. "I know. I truly do, and I trust you to do a fine job. But please, don't be in such a hurry. I'll be fine."
07[15:34] * @Wraith` opens his mouth agape, the cigarette falling from his mouth. He stare in utter disbelief for a moment, before the burning sensation of the cigarette brings him back into reality. "AH!" he shouts slightly, ow fucking cigarette burns! Placing the cigarette on an ashtray, he shakes his head and says, "How... is that even possible?"

I wouldn't know how to start to relax nowadays." Other than falling into an alcoholic coma. But he doubted she wanted that. "I mean, back then I had two jobs, one of which was at a hospital."

15[15:41] * +Karina flaps her wings slowly a few times, the pained expression leaving. "Yeah... Just hurts when they grow. They're fine afterwards, though."
07[15:43] * @Wraith` nods slowly and says, "Might wanna be careful how many times you do that. I figure maybe there might be some sort of drawback or something since it's so painful looking at first."
15[15:44] * +Karina shakes her head. "No, they're fine. The ability to put them on and take them off is part of the design."

07[15:44] * +Keen shakes his head and sat down. "I still don't know how you don't know Flank Sinatra. I mean, buck was a legend." He looks back into hers. "... I didn't have a lot of free time, and when I did, it was usually spent reading. I didn't have a lot of social contact after I got back from the war."
07[15:47] * +Primer hums and digests this. "Right, so, you've simply not learned how to take it easy." Something every wastelander dreamed of, inbetween scavengin for food and fighting for their lives.
07[15:47] * @Wraith` looks contemplative and asks, "Do you think it works on ghouls?"
07[15:49] * +Keen flaps a wing tensely. "... More like I learned not to take it easy, if I'm frank." Look how much that attitude got you.
07[15:51] * +Primer gets off the bed and starts walking towards the door. "Well, lets go get some breakfast first. Then we can talk about this, slowly, and not in front of the others."

Picking up the cigarette again, he takes a puff on it, then notices Fire_Lily saying, "Morning filly."

Maybe because he was a fairly large and intimidating ghoul, but he had to wonder why her racist self didn't mention him at all. He seriously found it hard to believe a zebraphobe would be friendly to a ghoul.

However, one thing Wraith` notices thanks to his EFS is that each time he passes Gutterville on his way to Cure's hospital, there seems to be more and more small camps of ponies milling about.

As well, he's passed at least three other camps already with similar population. "Dagger really went all out. Hard to believe he could get six different bands together for this." 07[17:23] * @Wraith` looks at Keen, speaking in his urgent tone, "Gutterville is in trouble. Lots and lots of raiders about to hit it up and take everything not bolted down. And yeah... they wanna kill in the process too. Trust me on this." noting how this 'Dagger' wanted to slit Twerps throat.
07[17:24] * +Primer exits into the hallway, pulling the straps of her battle saddle tight and looking determined.
15[17:25] * +Karina looks at Primer as she walks out. "Why do I feel like we're about to walk into a slaughter and there'll be more blood in Gutterville than water?"
07[17:26] * +Primer sighs. "Cus that's what we do... least it's just a bunch of raiders, nopony who'll be missed."
07[17:26] * +Keen seems to have taken this news rather roughly, as if someone had knocked the wind right out of him. He took off a jeweler's loupe and placed it back into the workbench proper. "... How many?" Please let it be one group, or something. Please let it be easy.
15[17:27] * +Karina raises an eyebrow at Primer. "Huh? They are the only ones we do it to."
07[17:27] * +Fire_Lily follows Primer, looking worried. She wants to help though.
07[17:27] * @Wraith` replies to Keen, "About six different bands. They mean business Keen. If they're not dealth with, that place is going to burn."

15[17:32] * +Karina blinks as she follows Primer. "I'm the one that said that before you all decided to blow the place flat... -now- you care about that?"
04[17:34] * +Primer looks back at Karina. "A little... it niggles at me, but what was the alternative? We failed negotiating, and things went as they did." She shifts her gaze to Wraith. "I'm set."
07[17:34] * +Primer noses Fire_Lily. "You okay?"
15[17:35] * +Karina "The alternative was us attacking her after I put her to sleep. It would've been a bit more dangerous, but it could've worked even if the cost would've been more steep."
07[17:35] * @Wraith` says flatly, "Tick tock ladies. Don't wanna be late to the party do we?" he strides past the two mares and a filly, making his way outside.
07[17:35] * +Keen looks rather upset at the condition of his weapons. "... We need to alert the town before they attack. Get them ready.
07[17:36] * +Fire_Lily nods. She looks nervous, but somewhat determined. "We have to help..."
04[17:38] * +Primer smiles. "Good girl. Now, lets go." She hurries after Wraith, not answering Karina, but thinking about her words nontheless.

15[17:39] * +Karina sighs softly as Primer just walks off and doesn't respond. She puts her pipbuck on, pulls the hood of her cloak overhead, and invisibly follows the group.
[17:40] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The group scurries their way to Gutterville. They pass by one of the raider camps on the way, where the sounds of battle to come are evident. By the time they reach Gutterville, it's early evening and a pair of guards stand by the gates to the town. Cap's security robot is with them.
07[17:41] * +Keen is decked out in his war gear, his best bathrobe. He wore his Saddle Arabian towel wrapped around his head. No need to have sweat in his eyes making this even worse. "Lookout! Get the militia together! There's raiders on their way! Lots of them!"
[17:42] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Guards blink as Keen shouts to them; "Wait, hold up. What's going on?" They didn't seem to be expecting anything." The robot turns to the group; "Identify."
15[17:43] * +Karina says out loud to the group as she just continues to walk, "I'm going to see Cap, then go and find out what the raiders know." She walks straight to Cap's.
04[17:44] * @Wraith` just looks at the guards and robot then follows after Karina.
07[17:44] * +Primer sighs and walks up to the guards. "Apparently a group of raiders intend to invade."

07[17:45] * +Keen rolls his eyes. "Keen Shine. Look, just bring the militia together. This might be bad, this might not be." He looks at Primer. "Please go look at Cap's and see if they have or weapon repair kits hoofy. I need any sort of batteries you can find."
15[17:45] * +Karina pulls off her hood and walks straight to the counter. "I know it's late, but do you have any .308?"
[17:45] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The guard looks confused; "Raiders? How many?" He looks to his companion; "Go get Twerp. I think she's at Gardenia's again."
04[17:45] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap does a double take as Karina materializes; "Oh. Hello there. Nice cloak. .308 you say? I can provide, but you don't seem the types to come shopping this late. Is something the matter?"
07[17:46] * +Keen has an extremely grave expression on his face. "Enough that you want the entire militia. Go."
07[17:46] * @Wraith` speaks up in his gravely tone to Cap, as he followed the zebra mare, "You could say that."

[17:54] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap fishes around. He pulls out a small cache of .308 rounds, which includes 10 normal shots and 3 Incendiaries. He also pulls up Four Frag Mines, and One Bottlecap Mine. lastly, he brings up a spool of razor wire. "Will this suffice?"
07[17:55] * +Fire_Lily is a little distracted. She's thinking about what she might be able to do to help...
07[17:55] * @Wraith` nods and says, "Yeah... very nicely. Though a couple of shotguns or sub machine guns would be good... you're going to need to invest pretty heavy if you expect to live through this."
07[17:56] * +Keen takes a deep breath. Stay calm, Keen. You're only going to send them to their death. "There is a large encampment of raiders coming. Why, I don't know. What they're after, I can only guess. How many there are..." He staggers a little, trying to keep his steady composure. "... A lot. Six tribes. But we can handle this. We just need to fight smart. Alright?" He tries to gauge the expressions...

07[17:56] * @Wraith` rubs his head and turns to Primer saying, "Uh yeah, I had you in mind about those."

"Why would they come here now?" asked one of the guards; "We've never had all that much worth taking, and most raiders were handled by Twerp since she got here anyw

07[18:07] * +Keen shakes his head. What could he tell them. "I don't know. I don't know, but I doubt they're here for the scenery. What does everyone here have in terms of resources? Does anyone have any mines or barbed wire or anything we can do to funnel them in?"

If he had a semi-automatic weapon or even better, a full auto one, it would make these plates terrifyingly effective... unfortunately he only had at best pistols... bolt-action varmint rifles being more suited for tripwires. Looking at Cap he asks, "You have any other wiring?"
[18:17] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap fishes around for a bit; "Got a couple of spare rifles if you want 'em, but they're probably squat compared to what you guys have if you're using .308's and 40mms standard." He floats out two Single Shotguns, a 9mm SMG and a Varmint Rifle
07[18:18] * @Wraith` blinks and takes the 9mm SMG. This would do... except he had no ammo for it. Wait... did it already have a magazine ready?
[18:20] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 There is one half-full magazine in the 9mm, 5 rounds in the Varmint rifle and one shot in each of the single shotguns
07[18:25] * @Wraith` takes the assortment of weapons, minus the varmint rifle. He only had enough material to create at best, four hazards, one of which already dedicated to being the sword trap.
07[18:26] * @Wraith` blinks and asks, "Last request. If you have, or know of where to get some scrap metal quickly, I can rig up a ton of traps."
[18:27] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap takes the Varmint rifle for himself then; "As a precaution," he notes. "I'm not much of a fighter, but I traveled enough to know how to shoot at least. Bottle does too; I'll grab here and we'll round up the rest of the civillians for protection."
[18:28] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap chuckles; "Scrap Metal there's no shortage of here. Check around the walls or in some of the dumpsters."
07[18:28] * +Fire_Lily finds herself glancing over all kinds of things in Cap's store. She's not really paying attention to them, but instead she's thinking about how she can make a difference.
07[18:29] * +Primer walks out of the store, on the way she asks Wraith: "Do you know where they're coming from? Or is likely to come from?"
07[18:29] * @Wraith` nods to Cap and says, "Sounds good." he quickly rushes about searching for as much scrap metal as possible.
[18:29] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap looks to Lily, then back to Wraith; "You want us to take the filly too? If she's got spells she can probably help us keep the civillians safe while you and the guards do the heavier fighting."
[18:29] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Wraith` finds a total of 6 Scrap Metal
07[18:30] * @Wraith` turns to Primer after finding his metal cache and points in the direction he last saw the raiders saying, "In that area. We're going to need to bottleneck them somehow, make their overwhelming numbers mean shit."

07[18:31] * +Primer gives Cap a look. "You happen to have any more mines?"
[18:31] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Scouting about the town, Wraith also gets a feel for the Layout. There are two main entrances, both with sealable gates. The wall around the town is 3 Yards high and there's enough razor wire in the spool to cover most of it. The town takes up the area of about one city block.
[18:32] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Cap looks at the four frags and Bottlecap mine; "Not handy, but maybe you can do up some more homemade ones like this one."
07[18:33] * @Wraith` really hopes none of the raiders have the ordinance to take down walls, that or they weren't intelligent enough to use them. Noting the two sealable gates as the main entrances, he proceeds to the group and tells them about his observations, stating, "Any other entrances need to be sealed. Funnel em all into here or there Be best if we collapsed one of the main entrances."
07[18:33] * +Primer shakes her head. "If I can't do enough with ten, I cant to anything at all." She scoops the haul up and prepares to make some beautiful art.
