  1. A truck is traveling east at 40m/s. The truck is 30m long. At the start of the problem the truck is 280m from an intersection. A second truck is traveling north at 30 m/s. This truck is 20m long and is 250m from the intersection. The driver of the second truck tries to make it through the intersection before the other truck reaches the intersection. To do this he accelerates at a constant 2m/s^2 for the entire time as he drives toward the intersection. Does he make it though the intersection before the other truck arrives at the intersection?
  2.
  3. not sure what to do. Initially I did this in regards to the first truck
  4.
  5. 310 = 40(30)+ 1/2a(30)^2
  6. 310 = 1200 + 450a
  7. -1.97 m/s^2 = a
  8.
  9. And since that's less than 2m/s^s I figured the second truck would make it. Not sure if this is correct answer/logic. Any help appreciated
