S23 Open Playoff Seeding Preds

note: I’m not sure if head to head applies in this situation, Squad Fam lost to top invite but has more rounds than them. The same goes for Yiffy Gamers and Drama Alert Nation.
note2: LialAndThe1989WorldTour are the only team i could see that 1. isnt dead and 2. needs to make up a match so im not sure what will happen there i would guess they will just get a ffw

1./2. Squad Fam Esports /prediction: 15-1 RF: 71

Weakest Player(s): (tilted) Ebsikl, InconspicuousPeppermint
    Squad Fam has had an incredibly easy schedule, losing only to top invite. If Ebsikl is tilted he can cause his team to take an L where they shouldnt, but if he’s hitting shots, and not tilting he can pound as hard as any of the other top open scouts. Falking and Aiera seem pretty consistent and n3 preforms well in matches for the most part. They will sail through the first round of playoffs, they COULD play a tough team in the second round but I doubt that will happen.

    Top invite has had the easiest schedule in their confrence, mostly because there weren’t any other teams that could contest them. Upon Yung Americans picking up SpaceCadet, Meus, and myself, top invite lost in a pretty convincing fashion, costing them 1st seed and an undefeated regular season.     There isn’t a lot to say about this team they will have an easy time getting to semi-finals and could face a tough opponent there, though they will probably advance to finals.

    Well, there isnt anything to say that hasn’t been said already about this team, they’re going to win 5-0 against any team in this division when they try, I don’t see them losing a 1st place check to another team.

5. ISSA KNIFE /prediction: 13-3 RF: 65

Weakest Player(s): Viper, Dot
    They can contest any of the other teams above them besides offclassico, this team is solid all around. My reasoning for putting Viper as weakest player was due to concerning match results. They were humiliated by Barycenter on sniper and viper went 22-42. One of these top 5 teams will get cucked out of semi-finals, any of them could make it but I feel like this team, or Squad Fam will get knocked out.

6. BLANC Lite /prediction: 13-3 RF:61

Weakest Players(s): Tery
    BLANC Lite has been a solid team the whole season. Hedge is an insane demo and has been doing crazy good this season. Im not sure how good the scouts are on this team, Tery seems to be a smart player but can make some questionable decisions on a fragging class, and Charis is a solid med, theres not a lot to say about him. I could see this team causing an upset depending on who they play.

Weakest Player(s): Frenzy
    This is a very solid roster of open up and comers, M0nsta has really good dm, and brian is smart, with that combination AND MonkeyJedi not being a feedbot like most open scouts are, they will most likely advance to the second round.

    Though this team has a good record they will most likely lose to any 9th-13th seeds under them. Who knows though I could be very wrong considering I haven’t been keeping up with open for the majority of this season, But whatever I’ll talk about the players a bit. ThoughtCrime and Lab8 are a solid scout combo, ThoughtCrime can do work on Sniper and Lab8 seems to have pretty decent dm. Happybob can make some crucial mistakes on medic from what i’ve seen which can cost his team rounds.

Weakest Player(s): Psi
    I would call their 4-3 victory over BLANC Lite an upset, Rouge dropped an insane 68 frags, every player besides Psi got at least 40 frags that game. I find it pretty hard to see how you could bottom frag the server and top death on your team, when someone is dropping 70 frags but whatever. Crypt is the most experienced player on this team and he seems to bring some good insight on what they should do, but he also gets baited quite a bit and we saw that in perfect form on process week. I believe 301 is cray and if so then I’m not sure what to think because I don’t want to put a hacker as a strongest player. :/

Weakest Player(s): RainofLight’s ghost
    Eels and Escalators had a tough start to the season, I’m not sure what one would expect on a team with RainofLight though. Due to that indecency left, which left a gaping hole in the roster. Reero seems to be playing quite well in place of sheem, so im not sure if I should call that a downgrade or what. I feel like getting their best player to leave wasn’t enough for Rain and his ghost is going to comeback to haunt this team during playoffs.

Weakest Player(s): Career, Iggynacio
    Im not sure about the weakest players on this team, its more like a “who is not an IM player” because Career has been putting out really good stats and Iggy is very good. With this I also want to put Stock on the strongest players, I mean did you see that match he died 7 times in 50 minutes. With an upset victory over top invite, this team could easily make it to semi-finals if they get a good matchup, and if they are incredibly lucky could even get to finals, but thats doubtful.

    Again, I’m not sure who to put for weakest player, I decided to put down Feint because I felt like spy would have the least impact in a match. I haven’t really taken much of a look at their stats though, so I could be very wrong. This team is pretty much unbeatable on viaduct, which was proven in their convincing win over ISSA KNIFE, due to Barycenter on Sniper and the fact that the rest of them are HL players.
Final Placement Prediction: If this team plays ISSA KNIFE, like I predict, they could possibly win again if not they will get 12th place

    This team has very solid all around players, when I was asking around to try and determine who was the weakest player, the answers I got were all “im not sure they’re all good” or “they don’t have a weakest player.” Obviously those statements are false but I have no means of judging who is the weakest player on this team. They will most likely not make it past the first round, I could see them doing It if I am wrong about them playing offclassico.

    Im kinda shooting in the dark with these last three teams, the only players ive heard of are Dylan, Funke, and Springrolls so i put them all down as strongest, but if this team beats Yam Fam AND LialAndThe1989WorldTour somehow dont go 11-5 they will get 14th seed, i would be putting Lial here but im not sure how that situation will play out so i just made them a seperate category.

15./16.Yiffy Gamers /prediction: 10-6 RF: 47 RA: 27

    When it comes to these teams its very hard for me to write a lot because I honestly have no idea who anyone on this team is, so I will be judging based on stats alone. YG has only played against 6 other playoff teams, all of which they lost. The only teams they got rounds off of were PunchLine (2 Rounds) and Drama Alert Nation (3 rounds). This is quite concerning for them, if they can’t beat a team thats a seed below them I dont see them getting close to making it past first round, even if they werent playing a top 4 team.

    The same goes with this team, I’m just going off of stats. Thing 2 has been pounding from the looks of it with an impressive 50 frags in one of their matches. There doesnt seem to be many outstanding players to be honest, and i dont see them getting past the first round in any situation (which goes for pretty much every team in 14-16th seeds).

     So, im not sure what will happen with this team because if im correct, they’re the only team in open that needs to make up a match. Depending on what will occur could change playoff seeds quite a bit. If they end up beefing it could allow a 9-7 team to get 16th seed.
