  2. Avara has connected.
  3. Narrator has connected.
  4. Ma-Nyeo has connected.
  5. Grace has connected.
  6. DNA: Hi sweetie
  7. Ma-Nyeo: I love you!
  8. DNA: Not you, Rob
  9. Avara: huh. this computer's still purple. lemme fix real quick
  10. Grace: I'm so sorry! The length of today messed with me. I even knew that the hours were long becuase it felt like 2 at 5:30
  11. DNA: Guessing you were out of the house somewhere?
  12. Grace: I was running a few errands, mainly to restock. I didn't think it would be this long.
  13. DNA: Ah, okay. Still, I appreciate your willingness to come back and join us.
  14. Avara: testing. is this too bright?
  15. DNA: Just a tiny bit
  16. Ma-Nyeo: Just fine by me
  17. Avara: test 2
  18. DNA: That is okay
  19. Ma-Nyeo: Looks nearly the same to me. But my screen preferences skew bright
  20. Narrator: I'd say a shade darker.
  21. Narrator: Just to make sure I don't overlook your text.
  22. Narrator: I will ignore bright text on white background.
  23. Narrator: Unintentionally.
  24. DNA: Oh no, Rob and I look the same
  25. Avara: Testing nurse joy hair color
  26. Avara: worse
  27. Ma-Nyeo: I think this might be my usual text in this game
  28. Avara: This one will do.
  29. Avara: ... darker.
  30. Avara: Test.
  31. Narrator: I can see that fine.
  32. Avara: thankuu.
  33. Narrator: Everyone ready?
  34. Avara: ret-2-go
  35. Ma-Nyeo: yus
  36. Grace: Ye!
  37. Narrator: Pick your communication focus?
  38. Narrator: Grace are you LV2?
  39. * DNA slides in casually
  40. Avara: ... right. narrator, can i get your opinion on hotaru's most appropriate focus?
  41. Grace: Ye!
  42. Narrator: Oh the ones listed, Persuasion has been the most utilized.
  43. Narrator: She has been absolutely anything but seductive.
  44. Grace: Thankfully level 2 is super simple
  45. Avara: seductive was a joke relating to her flaw
  46. Narrator: And she didn't use bargaining at all. Sarah actually through that in during her gambling.
  47. Avara: so any non-listed you'd suggest?
  48. Narrator: Objectively: Bargaining and Persuasion are the two most useful.
  49. Avara: if not, i'll persuasion
  50. Narrator: None I would suggest actually.
  51. Narrator: Unless Investigation is something you plan for her.
  52. Avara: investigation?
  53. Narrator: Mmhm.
  54. Narrator: It's Gather Information from D&D
  55. Narrator: It's literally 'roll to make this npc tell me stuff'.
  56. Avara: hm.
  57. Avara: and that's com?
  58. Narrator: Mmhm.
  59. Narrator: One sec
  60. Avara: it's pretty good then
  61. Narrator: Communication Focuses: Bargaining, Deception, Disguise, Gambling, Investigation, Leadership, Performance, Persuasion, and Seduction.
  62. Narrator: Hallo Gracie. Have you leveled up to 2 by chance?
  63. Grace: I think I might go for Gambling +3?
  64. Grace: Ye, just mainly picking the thing
  65. Avara: I'll pick up Investigation, and get Persuasion next tem
  66. Narrator: If you're leveling up, Grace, we can wait.
  67. Grace: I said I was good, just was picking the focus
  68. Grace: level 2's super simple to level mah boi
  69. Ma-Nyeo: Pokemon included?
  70. Grace: Well Idk about the riolu considering I haven't gotten information about him yet, considering I haven't even opened their ball just yet, but ye.
  71. Narrator: Yep. Riolu can wait. Though honestly, you get to pick everything for the Riolu.
  72. Grace: neat!
  73. Narrator: Bought Pokemon are cool like that.
  74. Narrator: Anyway, if we're all good, please move your tokens to the Pallet Town Pokémon Center.
  75. Narrator: Hm. And I need to find my notes.
  76. Narrator: Anyone wanna recap before I drop the thing?
  77. Avara: last time on a.e.b.: avara bungled the recap, pinky hurt everyone's brains just by existing, we found out that pallet town is littered with ralts-line, and we learned about contests
  78. Narrator: Any others or should I just start things?
  79. DNA: I forgot if Oak is arriving in the morning. I think he is though.
  80. Avara: he is. that was determined 2 sessions ago.
  81. DNA: Okay, I did remebmer correctly!
  82. Ma-Nyeo: I can't remember much other than the learning about contests. And now Oak.
  83. DNA: remember
  84. Avara: to pull from two sessions ago
  85. Avara: we found a dead trainer who might be the person that we were supposed to check on for oak
  86. Avara: we found out that the person kidnapping and releasing the kid is protecting him
  87. Avara: we found out that the Thing that--fuck it i'm not pinkying
  88. Avara: the enemy only steals prey at midnight. protector steals her protectorate early in the day.
  89. Avara: protectorate's mom wants to contact trainers, thinking protector is the perp
  90. Avara: gary's bringing a corpse analyzer equipment set to identify the bones
  91. Avara: there's a magearna that needs therapy
  92. Avara: uh... did i miss anything
  93. Avara: oh, right. joys are the best family to ever family in pokemon.
  94. Grace: Oh, the nurses want us to take the magearna from them because they said ti would be better with trainers than dumping it on a family or in a foster thing.
  95. Avara: or being released
  96. Ma-Nyeo: Thanks Ava!
  97. Narrator: We good and ready?
  98. Ma-Nyeo: ret2go
  99. Avara: i think so
  100. DNA: Suit up!
  101. Grace: yee
  102. Narrator: Okay!
  103. Avara: ... rob stole my thing
  104. DNA: Time for a fight?
  105. June 2nd, Monday.
  106. 69 degrees with a 64 degree humidity. It feels nice.
  107. There's a 12mph wind blowing north, northeast.
  108. It is incredibly foggy. Time: 8:00 AM
  109. Avara: oh snap. it's silent hill weather.
  110. DNA: 69 degrees. It feels nice.
  111. DNA: I can't help but feel an irony in that.
  112. You awaken in your quarters to the smell of freshly cooked bacon, eggs and cinnamon.
  113. Hotaru: Hotaru freshened up and got ready for the day, going through her morning routine before heading out to find out who was being best wife this morning.
  114. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia awoke not to the smell of breakfast, but to her Beldum making a monotonous chiming sound, not quiet enough to be unheard but not loud enough to be annoying either. Sometimes a portable computer has its benefits. But she took that as her cue to get freshened up and ready to tackle the upcoming day with gusto.
  115. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo walks downstairs with Miss Mallow on her familiar shoulder. Ma-Nyeo looks more well rested than she had the morning before.
  116. Sarah: Sarah's gonna get up bright and early cracking her back, and getting those good early morning body work outs to wake up. Picking up the still sleeping foxxo, she'll walk out feelin' ready and good for the day!
  117. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo finds the breakfast and stares at it.
  118. Down at the lounge you can see Syndel finishing up her breakfast platters and setting it out for the gang in the lounge to eat (Kitt, Teonia, Suzuka, Gary and herself) as well as four additional platters with a selection of Pokéfoods in small plates at the end of the counter.
  119. Gary: "Please, you didn't have to cook for me."
  120. Sarah: Sarah will home in on some of that breakfast and start scarfin' what she can down. She'll set a plate infront of the sleeping fox, and she'll barely be awake as she nibbles at her chunk.
  121. Inn Keeper: "Yes I did. So I did. And now you're going to eat. Because I cooked. And the food is there."
  122. Hotaru: "Thank you very much, and good morning everyone." Hotaru greeted the crowd before taking her seat to get delicious foodstuffs in her noise hole.
  123. Pokémon Merchant: "Don't gotta tell me twice!" Pokémon Merchant says a quick 'thanks for the good' and begins stuffing her face.
  124. * Hotaru also lets Dorpoara out to eat.
  125. Kitt and Suzuka step from behind the counter and sits down to eat as well, smiling happily.
  126. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo starts taking food after everyone else in her group went ahead and did so.
  127. Nurse: "Syndel makes amazing breakfast, y'know."
  128. Nurse Joy: "Of course she does. You'd have to in order for me to let her take over the inn portion of the Center."
  129. Inn Keeper: "Helps that we had a cook off and I beat you into the dirt with my amazing skills."
  130. Sarah: "Preciate the food! Good stuff!" She'll say through a half filled mouth. The fox will just be laying next to it's plate, just barely moving her head to get at it.
  131. Nurse Joy: "You may have won but don't act like it was that much better."
  132. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia came down into the lobby to meet the rest, her computer following. "Morning everyone. Oh, that smells good. I smell bacon, and it seems to be masking the rest. How was it cooked?"
  133. Hotaru: "Exactly as well as it should be for someone who's working in a Center."
  134. Inn Keeper: "Hm? Fried bacon strips. With salt and butter. Drained of excess grease. Don't like bacon?"
  135. Cassiopeia: "No, that's not it. I was just curious to know how you prepared it. It's a bit fascinating to know how people prepare things differently from place to place."
  136. Inn Keeper: "Well, Suzuka paid for this for you guys so I think you should enjoy it."
  137. Sarah: "It is pretty interestin' not gonna lie! Though I'm a bit more used to a load of fruit. Though I'm definitely not complaining here."
  138. Ma-Nyeo: "That's nice."
  139. Nurse Joy: "Sh-shut it. It's just a small gift to you guys starting out as Trainers."
  140. Hotaru: "Thank you very much~3"
  141. Avara: ... sad
  142. Cassiopeia: "Is that so? I do appreciate that very much, Suzuka. Thank you."
  143. Avara: i forgot i can't heart
  144. * Cassiopeia took her place at the table and began to eat.
  145. DNA: Ah, we're back to Alt+3 again
  146. DNA: ♥
  147. Avara: ♥
  148. Gary: "Speaking about that..." Gary says pointing to a medium sized olive-colored backpack on the ground beside him, "That's everything you'll need."
  149. Hotaru: "And thank you, Mr. Oak."
  150. Sarah: "Yeah! 'Preciate it Mr. Oak."
  151. Gary: Gary looks up briefly before nodding once, "Mm." and returning to eating.
  152. Avara: not calling him professor. he hasn't taken that title yet.
  153. Ma-Nyeo: Cunning: Does Gary Oak have a doctorate? 3+2+5+5=15
  154. * Deep Blue attempts to scan the inside of the backpack from its current location. But since it does not have X-ray vision, it is unable to.
  155. Deep Blue: "...Yes. That is definitely a backpack."
  156. Nurse Joy: "Well, since he isn't going to say it, I will. Bastard hasn't slept since he got here and studied the remains. It's the girl we thought it might be. Confirmed. He feels like trash - not that I honestly think if he gave her the license her death would've been avoided."
  157. Hotaru: "Thinking about what-ifs and maybe-buts won't help her, and won't help you. Hitting yourself in the feelings over and over won't, either. Just... think of it as a reminder of how much people need a secured Region. That's our job, right?"
  158. Sarah: Sarah will pause at what Nurse Joy said. She'll think for a moment to give simpathy, but she just shrugs. "Damn shame, but not his falt simply. He just gave a license saying she could, not that she had to."
  159. Avara: he refused to give her a license
  160. Avara: she got it from the police
  161. Sarah: "Oop, the police. So even less his fault."
  162. Gary: Gary pauses from eating and turns fully to your group and stands up looking over each of you before nodding, "That may be true...but it was still a girl who came to me with a plea that I ignored. And if I took her uder my wing, provided her with more knowledge, cautioned her from my experiences...she might still be standing here today. It's not that my intervention may not have changed things...it's that it might have changed things. And it's something I'll never know...because I did nothing."
  163. Miss Mallow: "I'm not sure why a license really matters when it comes to surviving. She wasn't traveling with a haunt. Or... pack? Group? What do you call a team of humans? Ghosts travel in haunts."
  164. Sarah: "It's generally group or team. There really isn't a collective word I think? Unless you wanna refer to us as a whole with humanity."
  165. Gary: Gary gets down onto his knees and bows to all four of you, "I want to formally apologize for the way I treated all of you when you came to me with the same plea...and that I lashed out against you guys worse than I did even her...I'm not worthy of the title Professor and even less so to try and guide any new trainers to embark on journeys...but if you would, I'd like to be that to you. Through you, maybe, I can redeem myself and try..."
  166. DNA: Me, OOC, inwardly: "He's a professor?"
  167. Hotaru: "Yeah. We'll accept your help--that's how people are supposed to do. A big cooperation to make sure everyone's alright. To pick each other up when we're down. To help each other move forward. We'll walk with you, so you can walk with the next group after. Your resolve is all the apology I need."
  168. Narrator: Anyone else got something to say before I have Gary respond?
  169. Sarah: "Honestly, just try to do better. No need to dwell. If we did, my home island would probably still be a reck ya know?"
  170. Ma-Nyeo: "You haven't cut your hand open and bled all over the room. So you're already doing better!"
  171. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia chuckled at Ma-nyeo's comment a little. "Really, knowing that you're willing to help and work with us is enough for me. If we can count on you going forward, then that's what matters."
  172. Gary: Gary let's out a sigh of relief and stands back up before adjusting his glasses, "...Thanks. I really appreciate you guys giving me this opportunity and...wake up call." Gary clears his throat a little and points to the backpack, "In the backpack there, I left you four PokéBalls to give you an edge on your first capture. Know that a Pokémon cannot be captured when it's in perfect health unless it's willing to. I've also left my number in the Pokédex's in the backpack so you can contact me when you're near a phone. They're not super special Pokédex's, sorry. I threw them together before I came here."
  173. Nurse Joy: "Ahaaaa, so that's why you couldn't make it right away. You sly boy..."
  174. Cassiopeia: "So it needs to tether to an existing phone line, it can't just make calls out in the wilderness. Good to know."
  175. Sarah: Sarah will just fingergun at Gary, considering she stuffed a chunk of bacon into her mouth.
  176. Gary: "IGNORing that, I'd like it if you called me whenever you hit a new town or if you just have questions and are near a phone. I'll offer you any hints and tips I can along your journey and provide you with some guest storage for extra Pokémon you'll obtain. I'll even take care of them while you're away...like my gramps used to."
  177. You gain free storage with Gary equal to the number of Pokemon you can use. At this moment, 2 and it'll grow as you level up.
  178. Hotaru: "Basic is fine. We'll get upgrades as we go--the pokeball and a dex at all will be a big help. And--yeah, we'll call often. It'll be good to just chat once in a while, even if we don't have any business to discuss.
  179. DNA: And we can swap in or out when at a Pokemon Center? Sounds lit.
  180. Hotaru: "But promise you'll take care of you, too. You can't help us if you're wearing yourself into the ground."
  181. Gary: "Yeah, I-I know. I've got a lot to do now."
  182. Ma-Nyeo: "I've never thought about what other pokemon I would want to catch. What do you think Miss Mallow?"
  183. Hotaru: "One of those things is sleep."
  184. Miss Mallow: "Hmm... I'll tell you if we meet anyone cute."
  185. Sarah: Sarah will chuckle, as she pulls out her own pokeball with her winninings. Before stashing it again. Though she has a smug arua right about now.
  186. Hotaru: Hotaru finished her food, then got up and got her pokeball(s? 4 each or 1 each?) and pokedex. "Let's see... does it register automatically?"
  187. Gary: (( 4 total in the backpakc. ))
  188. Sarah: Sarah will wipe off her hands on her shirt, and will approach herself to see wwhat kind of loot there is to have.
  189. Gary: "Yes. I've given all of you Trainer ID's. It's basically your identification now."
  190. Avara: 1 each then. thankuu
  191. Hotaru: "Awesome. This'll be a huge help, especially with the Magearna."
  192. Nurse Joy: "Speaking of sleep. As soon as you're done eating, I want you to go upstairs into one of the private rooms and get some rest, mister. Do it, before you head back home."
  193. Ma-Nyeo: "Doctor Oak, what can you tell me about the ralts in the Pallet and Viridian area?"
  194. Gary: Gary waved dismissively, "Yeah, yeah. I know, thanks for the concern. I'm going to."
  195. Gary: "The Ralts?" Gary thinks for a moment, "I know there used to be a big breeding center here in Pallet that would take on orders to produce shiny Pokemon or the strongest Pokemon."
  196. Gary: "As you'd expect, there were more popular ones than others and in doing so, the breeding performed would result in dozens if not hundreds of eggs. Rather than keep them all, they would just release them into the wild."
  197. Gary: "This sort of work involved a lot of cross breeding and results in some of the strange variations in Pokemon you may now encounter in the wild."
  198. Gary: "Did that answer your question or were you talking about a Ralts in particular?"
  199. Sarah: "Well, that explains the various ones." SHe'll say pulling out her pokedex and fiddling with it, to see what it says about suzy. "Though would it say the same for the dark or pure psychic type? Also super curious now, how often are off type things over in this region? I probably am asking a dumb question considering suzy over there is acutally an outlier, but still."
  200. Hotaru: "There are a lot of Ralts in the area, so that helps explain a lot."
  201. Ma-Nyeo: "They all have a lot of say in what goes on with the wild pokemon. And they're hostile toward each other. It's like a mob movie sometimes."
  202. Hotaru: "Do you have any advice for helping soothe a pokemon after trainer loss? I haven't really had to deal with it often, and I wasn't ever the main person doing it."
  203. Gary: "I..." Gary pauses for a moment, "...Just be there for it and let it know its alright to grieve."
  204. Hotaru: "Thanks."
  205. Hotaru: "We'll be there for you, too. Now that you're done hiding from the pain... it's okay to grieve properly."
  206. Ma-Nyeo: Ma-Nyeo stands up and pats Gary's shoulder.
  207. Hotaru: "And if you ever want a hug or something while we're in the same area, or need us to rush back over to where you are, just let us know. This is, and will always be, a two-way street."
  208. Gary: "Thanks..." Gary says hesitantly, "I'll try..."
  209. Hotaru: "You're putting your faith in us. And we're putting our faith in you. To be the best you that you can be. Sometimes that means crying in the arms of a friend, human, pokemon or otherwise. It's not weakness. Just don't let it consume you again."
  210. Hotaru: "... of course, if it does, we'll find you and pull you out again."
  211. Hotaru: "Right, everyone?"
  212. Ma-Nyeo: "Mm?"
  213. * Hotaru bops Mana with a spoon gently.
  214. Ma-Nyeo: "uwah!"
  215. Cassiopeia: "If I can avoid being socked in the face once, I can avoid it again." Cassiopeia smirked, jokingly.
  216. Sarah: "No disagreements here."
  217. Ma-Nyeo: "Oh. Yes. If you start cutting yourself again let us know."
  218. Sarah: "Preferably that to not happen again, suffice to say."
  219. Gary: Gary lifts his finger to say something and then decides against it and turns to eat.
  220. Woman 11: A woman comes busting in through the door, stumbling and nearly falling over as she looks around frantically.
  221. Hotaru: "... That's Mana for you. She's really weird but she means well."
  222. Hotaru: --!!!
  223. Sarah: --?
  224. Nurse Joy: Nurse Joy looks up and blinks, "...Suzuki. Are you looking for Isamu?"
  225. Hotaru: Hotaru turns, looking to Woman 11.
  226. Sarah: Sarah's looking up from her pokedex aming it at a still lazily eating suzy.
  227. Mother Suzuki: "Yes! He comes here sometimes. Is he here?"
  228. Hotaru: "Are you the mom of the kid who keeps disappearing?"
  229. Hotaru: "We have some news about that. We were going to come find you soon, actually."
  230. Nurse Joy: "Nope. Haven't seen him today. Sadako's not here right now. It's her he's usually interested in."
  231. Mother Suzuki: Mother Suzuki grits her teeth before looking at Hotaru, "Yes, Isamu's missing again...! Do you know something about that?"
  232. Sarah: "We're actually on that job right now!"
  233. Hotaru: "We talked to some of the local pokemon outside of town. The one who's taking him isn't taking him to hurt him, and she's not taking the ones who turn up dead, either."
  234. Sarah: "Well, it's a step in it, but suffice to say he's safe right now."
  235. Hotaru: "She's taking him to protect him from the one that IS killing kids. It's hunting him."
  236. Ma-Nyeo: "There's a kidnapper and a counter-kidnapper. The kidnapper kills, but the counter-kidnapper kidnaps before the kidnapper shows up. Then returns who she kidnapped."
  237. Nurse Joy: "Oh, they'are actually dying? Fuckin'..."
  238. Nurse Joy: "They just never came back. We had no idea what was happening to them."
  239. Mother Suzuki: "You'll bring him back to me? And kill the one that's causing him to be kidnapped?"
  240. Hotaru: "Pretty sure, not entirely. It's hard to translate the pink Ralts' speech."
  241. Ma-Nyeo: "Glade thought they were dying... But she is also delirious from staying up too late."
  242. Hotaru: "We'll take out the one that's hurting kids, and your Isamu'll be returned to you safe and sound."
  243. Gary: "..." Gary quietly listens to what's happening.
  244. Sarah: "Yeah, the plan is to sh*tstomp the kidnapper with some help, and then there should be no more kidnappings at that point, and the kiddo that's missing will be returned.
  245. Mother Suzuki: "Please, bring him back to me! I-I posted a hunt about this and everything!"
  246. Mother Suzuki: Mother Suzuki steps over to a couch and sits down on it, mentally exhausted.
  247. Ma-Nyeo: "I read your post."
  248. Hotaru: "We saw. We were going to come find you, to let you know he'll be alright."
  249. Hotaru: "We'll do everything we can to end this tonight."
  250. Mother Suzuki: "Oh thank Arceus..."
  251. Gary: "Hey." Gary says, motioning to everyone.
  252. Sarah: "Yo?"
  253. Hotaru: "Yes?"
  254. Ma-Nyeo: "Mm?"
  255. Gary: "Few things, because I don't know much about it. You've spoken to the wild Pokemon in the area? Like, actually be nice to them - preferably the underevolved ones?"
  256. Hotaru: "A ralts, particularly. The one that's keeping an eye on Isamu is... Gothita line?"
  257. Sarah: "Yeah, the ralts is a bit loose due to lack of sleep. Though she's got heart in the right place."
  258. Hotaru: "We saw her around where we found the bones, so we stopped to talk with her. One of our pokemon can translate pokespeak--but the ralts can speak human, too."
  259. Gary: "Okay so you investigated a bit. Do you know when and where the actual kidnapper is going to show up?"
  260. Hotaru: "Tonight, since Isamu is gone. Late at night, probably around midnight."
  261. Hotaru: "Going to wander into town."
  262. Hotaru: "We're going to follow up on it tonight--by all indication it might be taking the road in, but we're not sure for sure yet."
  263. Ma-Nyeo: "From the description it sounded like a Darkrai."
  264. Gary: "Is the kidnapper a human? Pokemon?"
  265. Gary: "A...what?!"
  266. Hotaru: "Darkrai. Possibly."
  267. Hotaru: "We're not 100% on that either, but that was the indication. Nightmares, immune to psychic."
  268. Sarah: "I have no idea what that is, but yeah. That's what the others think. At the very least it's a dark type."
  269. Ma-Nyeo: "Our dizzy informant talked about how it is immune to psychic attacks, and how it has mastery over bad dreams. Other bits of lore that drew dots to being a Darkrai."
  270. Gary: "A Darkrai kidnapping children...? But what for...?"
  271. Nurse Joy: "Wasn't a Darkrai the start of the Hero's change?"
  272. Hotaru: "I'm hoping Magearna will be up for helping us stop any more innocent deaths, but I'm not going to force it if Magearna's not."
  273. Gary: "According to records he never defeated that Darkrai either...and a similar event inolved that one..."
  274. Gary: "If it is a Darkrai, you can bet that all the Pokemon in the area will feel really uneasy when it appears."
  275. Cassiopeia: Cassiopeia seems a little lost. "...Are you talking about a recent event? It seems like there's a story here, but I'm not aware of any of those details."
  276. Hotaru: "The Hero is the guy who's responsible for the Rayquaza War."
  277. Cassiopeia: "Ah, so he was the perpetrator of that."
  278. Hotaru: "And his start involved... a darkrai?"
  279. Sarah: "I know that, but he went against a darkri? Uh, do we need to call the calvery here?"
  280. Gary: "The event of The Hero. It was a boy turned cybernetic death machine. All started with the desire to be the best like no one ever was...and failing miserably to save a little girls life from the grip of a Darkrai's curse."
  281. DNA: (cavalry)
  282. Hotaru: "I see. That's good to know."
  283. Gary: "If this is a Darkrai...it can appear from anywhere. At all. Like a ghost."
  284. Cassiopeia: "That..." She tries to find what to say next, but places her hand on her chin and hmms a bit. "...I'd say 'tragic', but that word isn't strong enough."
  285. Gary: "I'd recommend checking in on that one Pokemon that was keeping tabs on this thing. If it's appearing...it should know. If it doesn't inherently figure it out, you should know as it'll suddenly get really uneasy."
  286. Hotaru: "So we'll want to arrange some sort of watch system. Collaborating with the police might be the best move. So someone'll be on the scene right away, and can signal for back-up right away."
  287. Hotaru: "Not watch. Patrol."
  288. Nurse Joy: "Hm, we don't have that many police officers but...I'll go check with Ririn to see what she can do."
  289. Ma-Nyeo: "Glade seemed to know where the Thing would appear. If she can't be trusted, maybe she can tell us who can back up her claims."
  290. Nurse Joy: Nurse Joy gets up from the table and exits the building.
  291. Hotaru: "We're mostly just looking for more eyes on the town, so we know where to send people who can fight."
  292. Hotaru: "Glade and her friend should be able to help with that, but always have a back-up plan."
  293. Sarah: "Okay, yeah glad we're doing a bit of a change of plan. I was admitely a bit more cocky until the hero was involved with this thing at one point."
  294. Gary: Gary takes out two Awakenings from his pouch and hands it to Hotaru, "This is all I have on me. But whatever you do...do not fall asleep. It's the special attack of a Darkrai to put their opponent's to sleep and watch them die from bad dreams. A combination of a devastating attack and its own ability."
  295. Hotaru: Hotaru pockets one awakening, handing the other off to Sarah.
  296. Hotaru: "I'll see if we can get our hands on more."
  297. Gary: "I'm going to go rest soon. If I wake up before all this is happening I'll join the police patrol."
  298. Sarah: "Oof. We'll keep that in mind."
  299. Hotaru: "Thanks. Have a good sleep."
  300. Gary: "Yeah and...try not to died." Gary nods before moving to stand up.
  301. Inn Keeper: "Gary you twat just where the hell do you think you're going?!" Inn Keeper says smacking the table, "You better sit your butt back down and finish your plate."
  302. Cassiopeia: "So we'll want to go find the counter-kidnapper first and get a bit more intel. That might also give us an idea as to what points we should be watching the most - barring just splitting up for maximum eye coverage."
  303. Hotaru: "Promise to do our best at not-dying."
  304. Gary: "..." Gary slowly sits back down.
  305. Ma-Nyeo: "The counter-kidnapper is hard to find. If she wasn't, the kidnapper would have won already."
  306. Hotaru: "To do list: Magearna, check on Glade for more details, coordinate with police, buy awakenings and other supplies."
  307. Hotaru: "Anything else to prepare?"
  308. Narrator: Oh right, before I forget:
  309. Sarah: "if there's any consolation Gary, you'll be able to get in some rest in time, considering we got most of the day to still work. You need some rest my man."
  310. Completed Quest: Onegai Licensing!
  311. Avara: yay
  312. Narrator: Literally your first quest completion. And it comes with a few perks.
  313. DNA: Oh?
  314. Narrator: This is gonna sound a little complicated so bare with me.
  315. DNA: ...also did you really name the quest 'Onegai Licensing'
  316. DNA: (also also, it's 'bear')
  317. Narrator: I'm going to list 6 Talents.
  318. Narrator: Two of the Talents are acquired by Two Players. You guys need to agree on which two gets which two.
  319. Narrator: And the other Four are split between each of yuo.
  320. Narrator: You*
  321. All of this is novice ranks. If you already have the Novice rank of the selected talent, just upgrade it to Journeyman.
  322. Narrator: I know that didn't explain it super well: Any questions?
  323. DNA: So, to confirm, 2 of the talents are acquired by EACH of the two players?
  324. DNA: Such that everyone will gain exactly 2 talents at the end?
  325. Grace: That's interesting!
  326. Narrator: Select 2 talents: Then select 2 players that each get one of the two selected talents. A talent can only be granted to up to 2 players in this manner.
  327. Hotaru: to verify: 2 of the talens will be like. hotaru and sarah get (talent). mana and cass don't.
  328. Hotaru: or whatever
  329. Narrator: Then, select 1 talent of the remaining 4 talents for 1 player until no talents remain.
  330. Narrator: But yes, by the end everyone should have gotten 2 talents.
  331. Avara: sounds awesome.
  332. Ma-Nyeo: Two players are going to get two talents. Those two players pick which talent they want. Then every player gets to pick one talent. So each of the six talents are picked once, with two players having two and two players only having one.
  333. DNA: A A B B
  334. C D E F
  335. DNA: Sweet
  336. Ma-Nyeo: Okay, I didn't understand! So, I think I get it now
  337. Narrator: Syankuu DNA
  338. DNA: players are vertical in my explanation.
  339. Avara: another way to say it is, we get 8 talents, but 2 are duplicates
  340. Narrator: I'm going to list the talents now.
  341. Narrator: Carousing
  342. Intrigue
  343. Observation
  344. Oratory
  345. Researcher
  346. Savant
  347. Avara: looking them up
  348. DNA: I need to look those all up. I would like to request I get Researcher as 1 of mine, as I already have that at Novice
  349. Avara: carousing is sarah
  350. DNA: I WAS ABOUT TO SAY
  351. Avara: it has to do with drinking and gambling.
  352. Grace: Man, I just looked it up and was wondering why there was any arguments on that one. :A
  353. DNA: Intrigue is Hotaru
  354. DNA: Oh, that reminds me. We have to meet the requirements for these talents, don't we.
  355. Avara: hotaru doesn't have either relevant foci yet.
  356. Ma-Nyeo: So a good idea is to start with which should be given to two people.
  357. Narrator: Nope. You just get the talent. Its the quest reward.
  358. Ma-Nyeo: I vote for Observation, because being good at perception is good. And Ma-Nyeo wants to be a part of it.
  359. DNA: Oh, sweet.
  360. DNA: I have either Observation or Savant as the one I'd like for my second. I for sure want Researcher.
  361. Avara: i would like intrigue and oratory, if i'm taking the CHARISMA role
  362. Narrator: I think Rob's suggestion to figure out which talents go out to more than 1 person is a good way to handle this.
  363. Avara: indeed is, yeah
  364. DNA: I agree.
  365. Ma-Nyeo: Who else wants Observation?
  366. Avara: so we have. drinking/gambling, fast-talking, perception, smooth talking, book smart, map smart
  367. Grace: I'd like a shot at the Carousing and Observation
  368. Grace: considering Sarah is a flippin' tourist
  369. Avara: three people want observation, so that's one of the duplicates
  370. Avara: what's the other?
  371. DNA: ...good question. I don't think there was one.
  372. DNA: But I also don't know Rob's second choice.
  373. Avara: rob, what do you want besides observe
  374. Ma-Nyeo: Observation, Intrigue and Savant are the most interesting to me.
  375. Avara: is anyone else interested in savant
  376. DNA: I was
  377. Ma-Nyeo: Observation, Savant and Intrigue in that order.
  378. Grace: I don't mind going with observation, svant, and then intrigue, and that 4th one is the boozination one
  379. Ma-Nyeo: Actually. Lets do that. Everyone list your top 3, in order from most to least interested
  380. Narrator: Not how it works.
  381. Ma-Nyeo: Observation, Savant and Intrigue in that order.
  382. DNA: Hotaru: Intrigue, Oratory
  383. Sarah: Carousing, Observation
  384. Ma-Nyeo: Observation, Savant, Intrigue
  385. Cassiopeia: Researcher, Observation, Savant
  386. Grace: Roight, roight.
  387. DNA: From there I can narrow out Rob's and my 3rd choices
  388. Avara: one of you needs to give up observaton
  389. Avara: it's ina ll of your top 2
  390. Narrator: OKay from that perspective I suggest Sarah and Cassiopeia for Observation and Hotaru and Ma-Nyeo for Intrigue.
  391. Narrator: These 2 aren't meant to be go to the same person twice.
  392. Avara: sounds good to me.
  393. DNA: Hotaru: Intrigue, Oratory
  394. Sarah: Carousing, Observation
  395. Ma-Nyeo: Savant, Intrigue
  396. Cassiopeia: Researcher, Observation
  397. DNA: Like this?
  398. Narrator: Correct.
  399. Grace: No objections to that
  400. Ma-Nyeo: So, the interesting thing. Perception is Ma-Nyeo's best thing (actually Cunning just joined it with the last level up). So she's good at Observation, just not redundantly good. Intrigue will let her reroll her awful communication and give her an edge in specific situations.
  401. Ma-Nyeo: The optimizer in me wants to be better at what I'm good at, but I can see the advantage to spreading that around.
  402. Narrator: Any objections Rob to the above listed playout?
  403. Ma-Nyeo: So I'll go for it.
  404. Narrator: Okay.
  405. Narrator: Let me know when people are done updating their stuff and we'll continue
  406. Avara: added to my sheet
  407. DNA: Edited in
  408. Grace: Done!
  409. Ma-Nyeo: Good
  410. DNA: Ma-nyeo's attempts at seduction would be adorable.
  411. Ma-Nyeo: that, or pure cringe.
  412. DNA: Isn't that what I just said?
  413. DNA: Anyway! Onward.
  414. Narrator: _b
  415. Grace: The vital alolan's gonna have a liver to rival a dwarf at the end of this.
  416. Grace: she's gonna take a shot to the gut, and her iron liver's gonna save her.
  417. Avara: ... now i have to consider if i want to have hotaru master her new knowledge in deception or seduction or both or neither
  418. Narrator: Alright then. Whatcha guys up to?
  419. Avara: magearna.
  420. Narrator: I dunno what that means.
  421. Ma-Nyeo: (( aquiring her from the nurses and seeing if any dialogue happens. ))
  422. Avara: ^
  423. Narrator: Ahh. They're just going to hand over the repaired Poke Ball now transferred to your TID.
  424. Narrator: I'll leave it up to you if you wanna rp it or not but I didn't have any intention of roleplaying Magearna.
  425. Avara: okay. if people are alright with it i'd like to. though i'd appreciate a couple pointers on how to play magearna first. it feels like a scene that needs to happen.
  426. DNA: Screaming and crying.
  427. DNA: ...I say that because I don't know how to really RP someone who's bereft.
  428. Narrator: Hmm...Have you seen the movie with Magearna?
  429. Avara: i haven't, sadly
  430. Grace: same
  431. Narrator: There's also no specific scenes on youtube I can quickly link
  432. Narrator: They're all trailers or the whole damn movie
  433. Avara: damn. could you flick through a movie to get timestamps?
  434. Avara: ... better idea, anyone else have any business to attend to tonight?
  435. Avara: i'll watch the movie for next week.
  436. DNA: I do not.
  437. DNA: ...To either of those questions.
  438. Grace: I'm free
  439. Narrator: I don't have timestamps soz. I think I watched it on anilinkz
  440. Avara: okay.
  441. Avara: what does the local item shop have?
  442. Narrator: That's the place you're in!
  443. Narrator: Adventuring gear, medicine, poke balls.
  444. Avara: all kinds of all of those?
  445. Avara: asking because most of the time you have, like, a rolled list of what the store has to sell
  446. Narrator: Yep
  447. Narrator: Pallet's legit
  448. Avara: can i see the thing? or have we already seen the thing and are to look it up
  449. Narrator: It'd be easier if you did.
  450. Narrator: If its not berries or held items it's there.
  451. Avara: okay. will do that between weeks.
  452. Avara: uhhh... shit
  453. Narrator: ?
  454. Avara: nothing else we can really do in 30 minutes
  455. Avara: i'm drawing a blank
  456. Ma-Nyeo: investigation checks with wild pokemon to learn more about what they see at night and if they feel Darkrai unease.
  457. Grace: Sounds like a good idea!
  458. Avara: yeah, that sounds good.
  459. Avara: i'll roll the thing?
  460. Narrator: Sure.
  461. Hotaru: Communication (Investigation) 3+6+3+5=17 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  462. Narrator: Hah
  463. Avara: would this be roleplay stunt or investiagation stunt
  464. Narrator: Roleplay
  465. Avara: okay. 3 stunt points...
  466. Ma-Nyeo: flirt
  467. Avara: too expensive. but...
  468. DNA: H
  469. DNA: *Ha
  470. Avara: And Another Thing + Bon Mot, to try and convince the local pokemon to help eliminate the Darkrai
  471. Avara: whether that means kill, capture, or whatever else
  472. Ma-Nyeo: I think "help us scout at night and get us when trouble" is the most reasonable thing to ask. Lots of help and much more likely to get it.
  473. Avara: that would indeed be a way to help, yes
  474. Avara: not all help need be combative
  475. Narrator: So, generally the wild Pokemon don't feel uneasy but they admit at nights like these they tend to and then the humans get all worked up the following day.
  476. Narrator: The wild Pokemon themselves aren't inclined to help you in any way (they're all indifferent or worse in disposition to you), except...
  477. Avara: could i do a follow-up roll to persuade them to our sie?
  478. Gardevoir: "I recognize the feeling. It is distinct. I'm not inclined to assist you outside of Pallet but..."
  479. Gardevoir: Gardevoir glances to Edwin Johnson, "It's been weighing on his heart, the fate of the children of his home. If I sense anything, I will come to you at the very least to notify you. If it takes foot inside Pallet, I'll face it myself."
  480. Gardevoir: "The feeling, however, never originates here inside Pallet. It appears outside of it to the north then sort of fades."
  481. Hotaru: "Thank you."
  482. Hotaru: "All of that will help a lot, even if you don't join the fight. The information will already narrow our search range."
  483. Cassiopeia: "So now we know it isn't someone local, but someone in the vicinity of Route 1. That cuts time down massively."
  484. Hotaru: "... The two ralts we saw yesterday weren't around to talk about it."
  485. Hotaru: "Hmmmm."
  486. Sarah: "If it appears on 1, it would make sense our sleepy friend is aware of it."
  487. Cassiopeia: "Saying Glade is 'aware' might be a bit too generous."
  488. Sarah: "Well, she knows OF it."
  489. Avara: note for next time
  490. Avara: we have to do: shopping, contest register, magearna meet, police coordination
  491. Narrator: I think we can save campaign and continue next week
  492. Avara: sounds good to me
  493. Narrator: I'll grant XP and we'll pick up next time.
  494. Narrator: XP: +500
  495. DNA: Good plan.
  496. Sarah: woo!
  497. DNA: 2500 EXP, 2000 to next level
  498. Narrator: Saving campaign and log~
  499. Avara: g'night
  500. Avara is disconnected.
  501. Ma-Nyeo is disconnected.
  502. Grace is disconnected.
  503. Narrator is disconnected.
  504. You have disconnected.
