  1. [16:55:40] She held the blade in her hand, she could feel its viridian energy radiate onto her body. She sat at the bench, her eyes fixed on the old sunlight sword, whispers of the past echoing into her ears endlessly. Byson's land's were relatively safe from harm, alteros and tilandre had their attentions focused westward while byson had its exploits done in relative secret. She looked to her side to see her sitting there, the former chief clad in the armor of the aegis. She knew she would be here but she didn't realize that the mission would drive her to these extremes, it was an unsettling thing to witness.
  2.
  3. "It's good to see you well Miss Floures, how has byson treated you so far." A timid smile leaves her lips, she too clad in the armor of the aegis. Her eyes shift toward her nub of a hand, it was a sad sight to see, one that would be rectified with the best of her abilities. "How are you feeling Miss Floures, have you been training hard, I can only imagine the difficulties you must be having due to your condition."
  4.
  5. Her hand is placed on her arm with a sympathetic look, she would never know what she was thinking, but she could feel the hurt slowly healing with time.
  6. (Akroma Rei)
  7. [17:03:21] The approach of Akroma was enough to send Rosaline whirling around on her heel. A strange stare was offered to her former student -- quizzical, and then exasperated. She turned her gaze up to the sky and mustered a shrug with all of her strength.
  8.
  9. "It's been... well. It's been. That's all I can say."
  10.
  11. Appearances spoke more than words. Rosaline's form remained broad and tall, but something had ravaged her frame... where muscle was only months ago were the remaining shrivels of strength, of halfhearted attempts of training. She was spindly and tall, and her defined cheekbones now stuck out from the course of her skin like jagged mountains on the plains of her features.
  12.
  13. She was skinny.
  14.
  15. Her pacing finally came to a stop and her stare fixated on Akroma.
  16.
  17. "I'm alive, yes?" The query was weak, halfhearted. She mustered a smile but her tone was downcast. "That's all that matters. Kraus' will is for me to be here, for otherwise I would be long dead."
  18.
  19. A single fist is planted against her heart, and her meager smile wavers, if only for a moment.
  20.
  21. "I hope you are doing well."
  22. (Rosaline Floures)
  23. [17:17:52] "Miss Floures..."
  24.
  25. She couldn’t figure out anything to say, it was hard for her to emotionally heal the damaged, all she could do was be there at least, comfort her to the best of her ability. She scooted over to the woman and placed a sympathetic hand around her frame. She felt different, she felt fail, she felt drained, she could barely grip her body without feeling like it was going to break. Her eyes locked with her's and all she could feel was emptiness, was this really Rosaline? Or was it a shell, a shell whose contents have spilled on the floor after being cracked at a weak point.
  26.
  27. It would be up to the young girl to lift those contents and put her back together again, maybe. Maybe she just needed time, she didn't exactly know in the end.
  28.
  29. "Miss Floures, it....it looks like you could use a prosthetic. Have you even been in combat since.."
  30.
  31. She didn’t finish her sentence, she didn't know if the woman could be triggered by misspeaking about the event but she should know what she spoke of. "Do you have any materials left over, I'm sure I could fix you up something very useful to you with some time.
  32. (Akroma Rei)
  33. [17:24:41] Rosaline's head hung when she felt Akroma's comforting touch. Her worst fear had come to life before her, in the form of her body: she was weak, she was frail, she was hopeless. Even worse, it was obvious. Pity was not something Rosaline strived to get, yet it flocked to her in hoardes.
  34.
  35. "No, I haven't. I've -- I've tried. There were a few moments where I almost could have had to." She pursed her lips. "If it weren't for my fast feet, I would be dead right now."
  36.
  37. Coward.
  38.
  39. "I have materials, yes. I haven't used any. Honestly, I made up a blueprint in hopes that you'd come offer help... I was going to suggest using mithril for the internal structure of the prosthetic and orichalcum or adamantite for the outer shell. I have some of all three."
  40.
  41. Rosaline rustled around in her coat pockets for a moment before bringing out a journal. She took her time flipping through pages before finally coming to what she wanted. She propped the book up on her handless elbow, and with her only fingers, tore the page from the bounds of the leatherbound journal.
  42.
  43. It was offered to Akroma. Intricate details lay outlined around sketches and blueprints of what would be a prosthetic hand. It was apparent that Rosaline had done her research!
  44.
  45. "I'll..." She paused. "I'll pay you, if you want."
  46. (Rosaline Floures)
