  1. New problem: How were we going to get so many people to the center of the swamp quickly and efficiently? New solution: Magical spirit bullshit. I didn’t want to overtax my Ultimate Eye, but at the same time I had to recognize the urgency of the situation. With supreme understanding of all the math, chemistry, and physics, I clapped my hands and built some barges.

  3. Covering my eye again and rubbing my forehead to alleviate the resulting headache, I heard Toph walk up to me before she talked. “How did you do that?” she sounded stunned, “Are you really a spirit?” she sounded almost excited at the notion that I was what I said I was.

  5. For a moment, I considered telling her the truth. Then I realized there were dozens of people who needed to believe the crap I was spewing and that, if any one of them heard me tell Toph the truth then that would probably ruin this very legitimate operation. I think it said something about me, not feeling all that bothered at lying to her.

  7. “Uh, metalbending,” I pointed to the barges I’d made out of rock, dirt, chunks of wood, and transmuted portions of ground, armor, and weapons, “Fragments of earth, they’re in the steel.” I nodded at her, “Yeah. That’s it.”
