- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "After having been in 2 Houses and a Rogue for quite
- some time, I've not noticed much of a difference in themes or activity. With that being said and the
- amount of players either dwindling, just not overly active, doing anything but botting or idling,
- are there any plans to get rid of Houses entirely and make the Dominion encompass ALL of Bloodloch?
- Or will there be more events and a more active Primus to make the Dominion actually mean something?"
- You say, "There are no plans to get rid of houses, no. There will be more events with the Primus and
- the Primus will be more active. We have several things in the works, but I cannot go into any
- specifics as they would spoil all the fun."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "That is actually really great to hear. Follow up
- question in regards to the Bloodhunts that we all so love and enjoy. With the bloodhunts because
- somewhat...boring? I feel that they are not overly beneficial in the long run if they are just mobs.
- Are there any plans to be able to encompass the Bloodhunts to be active towards players instead of
- just mobs? I love bashing and all, but we're vampires, we should be able to spread our wings and
- intake our bloodlust and fight other people as well. Are there any incoming plans to make the
- bloodhunts more... bloody, if you will?"
- You say, "Bloodhunts are intended to allow you to go to an area and fight mobs, so you can include
- non-PKers. Then, people are allowed to come attack you all so that PK can be involved. It's a mix."
- Empress Sarita Bahir'an says, "I was wondering if there's any chance of having novices in the
- Dominion looked at again. I know the intention was to have them be able to see lots of older players
- immediately rather than join a House that may or may not have someone active at the time they get
- out of the intro, But right now, we don't get any sort of notification that they've joined, there's
- nothing that really supports getting them into Houses except possibly the chance that someone will
- notice them and try to recruit them, and if they get any interaction from the Dominion at all, it
- would probably be in the form of people ICly talking about things that don't make sense for
- unaffiliated nightstalkers to be involved with in the first place."
- You say, "That's something I'd have to ask a higher admin about, honestly. I will bring it up, but I
- know we are re-evaluating a lot of things when it comes to the Dominion. So, I don't see why it
- would be out of the question to review how nightstalkers join up. No specifics to provide, but I'll
- make sure to bring it up."
- Yarel Nebre'seir, the Spiteful says, "My question is about the Dominion rep spot on the Overlord
- Council. There is, to my knowledge, nothing analogous in any of the other cities, and so far as I
- can tell, there is no actual reason for Bloodloch to have one. If I'm not mistaken, every Overlord
- is a member of one of the Houses, and it seems to just serve to remove one of the seats from being
- available to the general citizenry. So, I guess my question is, do we really have to have the spot?"
- You say, "The best way to answer that is to say that for right now, it is needed and will stay. We
- are evaluating things with the Dominion, though, so you never know what might change in the future.
- Lore-wise, though, we do feel it is needed at this point."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "I was wondering myself about novices, I have noticed that most
- seem to feel being embraced and sired is something that they are going to get no matter what. Are we
- trying to stop the old way of making it so people earn the right so to speak instead of just biting
- everyone that moves?"
- You say, "You have to remember that in the end, this is a game. People should expect, to some extent,
- to reasonably reach the point of getting a sire and getting embraced. It's just like any other
- guild/class in this game. That's why house requirements should be matching up to guild ones. This
- was advised to houses a while ago, so I don't feel there is much need to go into it further than
- that."
- Empress Sarita Bahir'an says, "When the Dominion first came out, we had some RP around writing and
- signing a treaty between it and Bloodloch. We were also told that there would be a mechanic in place
- for it to have formal treaties through the treaty system, but that never happened. Any chance it
- could be looked into again?"
- You say, "I can have that looked into, sure. I don't see why not. I don't know that it will
- necessarily be needed at this point, but no harm in checking."
- Yarel Nebre'seir, the Spiteful says, "My question is actually a continuation of my last question.
- You said that the Dominion Rep was needed for Lore reasons. But couldn't the Lore issue be satisfied
- by creating a Dominion Representative post within the Government? Perhaps something akin to, or
- maybe instead of, the Divine Representative post? Then we are able to elect all of our Overlords,
- and avoid all the associated issues with the current set up."
- You say, "At this point, I cannot really comment on the plans for the Dominion in regards to this.
- That's why I'm simply leaving it at the fact that, for now, it's a needed item."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "In regards to Bloodhunts again, its quite griefy to
- PK a non-PKer just because they are bashing in a certain area, and most PKers don't really care that
- you are bashing a certain area. So, are there any plans to actually make Bloodhunts against certain
- organizations instead of mobiles?"
- You say, "At this point, not specifically. There is the place for it to happen, as there always has
- been, but it's rarely used because it can be overused. We've seen that happen in the past. Now, to
- touch on the griefy part, it'd be optional for the non-PKer to be involved in the bloodhunt. They'll
- have ample warning and advisement that they can and will possibly be attacked, so it's not
- necessarily griefy. It's an optional event for a reason so that people can opt in/out of it."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "Again, I've been in 2 Houses and a Rogue and have
- seen not much difference in anything, except more laws or rules to follow. Anyone in Bloodloch who
- finds a Sire is USUALLY of someone who has or was in a House, and like all parentage is usually
- traced back somewhere. Even if they aren't in a House now, they were, and as such, have the Primus'
- blood going through them... in essence at least. Are there any plans to encompass Rogues to be part
- of the Dominion as well, or will the Dominion be true to House vampires only?"
- You say, "As far as I understand it, the Dominion will always be solely for housed vampires."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "I do not know if it is meant to be this way but to me
- personally it feels like to really become anything in the dominion you have to be a PK'er is that
- meant to be that way?"
- You say, "No, it is not. There are plenty of people who get involved in the politics of the Dominion
- that do not PK. Sarita is a good example of this, along with many of Bahir'an and D'baen. There are
- definitely plenty of opportunities that involved PK alone, but it's definitely not the only option."
- You say, "Look at the Gaes event, which involved solely a bashing-style event rather than one that
- involved PK."
- You say, "It's really all what you make of the Dominion for your character."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "Speaking of the Gaes event.... that was a quite
- interesting event that was implemented. However, it was monopolized by a single few people just
- camping the area and rotating in a circle to kill the mobs that were there, thus granting them the
- favor of the Primus. Is there anything that you, as admins, can do that will stop a single House or
- person from completely monopolizing the entire bloodhunt event?"
- You say, "It was actually fairly spread out between two houses, with the other two having very few
- people that had time to get involved with it unfortunately. When you do any sort of bashing-style
- event, however, it is difficult to not have it be monopolized unless the admin is active 24/7 while
- the event is going on and can do small changes here and there to adjust for it."
- You say, "Most of the time, if the event is large enough, we will definitely do our best to make
- sure events are a little more spread out to give people a better to chance to get involved."
- You say, "For example, the recent events with the Vortex - that was made so that plenty of people
- could get involved because it was a much larger scale event."
- You say, "So, it'll just vary really."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "Zsadist had a good point about the Gaes event, I will admit I
- did camp in the area for a few hours to get try and get a good amount of kills to be added to my
- house. My question though is why we do not do more RP based events more then bashing and PK filled
- lack of better word promotions."
- You say, "The Dominion has had RP-based events in the past. The most recent event was bashing-based
- as it was intended to be a brief event. Events that are RP-based take a longer amount of time to
- plan and setup. So, it's in an organization's best interests sometimes to try to come up with their
- own RP-based events while we're trying to get some setup on our end. We have a lot on our plate as
- admin, so we provide events as often and as fulfilling as we can. Sometimes, we just provide you all
- with something short so there is something going on rather than you all having nothing at all."
- Arch Duchess Asaraii D'baen says, "I like the roles that each House has, but I haven't really seen
- much activity from any of the Houses in terms of using their roles. I know you said there are plans
- in progress, I was just wondering if that included more of this, and interactions with one another
- to work together? I guess I just don't see a lot of Dominion RP on a larger level, so I could just
- very well be missing it. I haven't been around very long, so I have seen very small interactions
- with Abhorash, but it'd be cool to have more in-depth interactions with him, or more npcs or
- characters that have a role in the Dominion too."
- You say, "To be honest? The roles and interaction should be up to you houses to make happen more. I
- know that, say, Sarita worked with Ezalor from time to time to keep that tie between D'baen/Bahir'an
- going. In previous days, house leaders/members would just get together and plan out things to do
- together. A lot of these interactions tend to be left up for the houses to establish for themselves,
- just like with events."
- You say, "I'm sure that Abhorash will have more interactions, though, so there will be that. The NPC
- interaction is usually fairly minor, however, save for when we run an actual event."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "To that statement you just gave Ve'kahi has been and probably
- will always be the chastised house for our past and we do our best to be us, Even Abhorash has
- complimented and insulted Ve'kahi in the same breath."
- You say, "He'll do that with just about any house, really. Give praise and torment at any given time.
- He's a very odd man."
- Empress Sarita Bahir'an says, "I actually have two quick questions that are closely related. For
- things we notice like typos of bugs in Dominion related things like the Alcazar, should we fill
- regular bug reports, or is it ok to talk directly to someone like BL's patron? Then for the other,
- are we going to see anything come out of the minor mob interactions and quests in the Alcazar ever?"
- You say, "The bugs, go ahead and submit them like usual. I'd say submit them to me directly, but I
- may be out on maternity any day now. So, any of the team can get to them as they've got some spare
- time on their hands."
- You say, "Concerning the Alcazar quests, I can outright say nothing will come of any of it now. In
- fact, all of the fancy changing of npcs/etc has been taken out. We have other plans for Alcazar to
- come in time, but all of that has been nullified."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "I do have a question not of the dominion directly per say but
- recently a member of a house was made an Elder, what are the unwritten requirements of becoming an
- Elder of a house, is it because they are so ranked high in the experience chart?"
- You say, "There are no real requirements. We'll evaluate the person based on suggestion or request
- of suggestion and see if they have noticeably helped the house. It's definitely a case by case basis
- sort of thing."
- The cloaked figure of Canasius says, "So it is required to have a suggestion that it is give to them
- not just something you throw out on your own?"
- You say, "Usually. I mean, it all depends. Sometimes, we may find someone worthy of it if they have
- suitable service and the person handling Abhorash or the admin team feel it is someone who deserves
- it."
- You say, "It's a very variable thing and it's just not handed out that often because of that fact."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "I may be wrong, but in the past when Abhorash
- becomes active again, we see more rules/laws/lore created as well as a new Emperor or Empress is
- sired. With the returning of Abhorash (read as active once more) are we going to see more of this or
- will we just see more events, both RP and PK based?"
- You say, "We've already had a new set of laws put into place, so there are no planned changes beyond
- that. There are likely to be more events, which I cannot touch on the specifics of. The
- Emperor/Empress thing, though, is a heated topic and it something that is not taken likely. I do not
- see any new ones being taken on at this point, but it all depends on what RP goes on."
- You say, "It does not mean we won't take on any new ones at all, but just that we're not looking at
- specifically doing events just for that."
- The figure wrapped in darkness of Zsadist says, "This is a little less Dominion=related, but
- speaking to my earlier question, much similar to Canasius', for those of us whose goal is to become
- an Emperor or Empress, is there a sort of policy or guideline we need to follow? Or is it just one
- of those things that is discussed on an admin level?"
- You say, "It's something mostly discussed on the admin level, just like with Elders. There are no
- specific policy or set of guidelines because that'd make it far too simple for people to attain."
