- KEY
- A Line: A connection between 2 things. Should be accompanied with a description.
- A Circle: A player character.
- A Square: A minor character.
- A Triangle: A situation. Some kind of event or potential event that is important to the character(s) in some way, whether it’s a past event that shapes them, something currently ongoing, or a possible future problem.
- A Diamond: An asset. Something in the world connected to the character. Could be more that just ‘an object’ it could also be an organisation they are a part of, or a place important to them (NB: This means a specific place they own or is significant to them. It’s more specific than like, ‘your homeland’)
- Consider this process like drafting in Dota. This is how the map is constructed.
- When we start, you will get 2 minutes to think about what connections you might have.
- We will then take in turns, ordered by d20 roll in the roll20 room.
- Each ‘round’ will be type of phase, which determines what you can do with the map.
- Standard: Add one new element: You can add a character, asset, or situation and draw a line from it to your character, or draw a line from your character to an existing element.
- Major: Represents a major turning point in the characters’ lives. During a major phase each player adds two new Elements instead of one.
- Meta: This is your chance to mess with anything that already exists on the map. In addition to adding one new element like in a standard phase, each player gets to do one of the following:
- Draw a line between any two non-PC Elements and define a relationship between them.
- Destroy a line between their PC (i.e. your own) and a given Element and add a new element and relationship. This implies that something happened to sever one relationship and foster another.
- Introduce an element/relationship to another player character. The other player gets to define the nature of their characters’ relationship with that element however.
- Each round has a theme to it. You don’t /have/ to follow it, its more of an idea to help you if you get stuck. There will be 5 rounds in total.
- Extra: You cannot use the same shape twice in a row.
