DS cheating

Updated as of 3/17/2015. Got the new tables.

This involves some pretty heavy cheating and stuff, so don't spoil your virgin eyes if you don't want to know how to save yourself hours of grinding.

First, download the cheat engine: http://www.cheatengine.org/

Go into the game and log into a character. Then alt+tab and open the DARKSOULS.CT file. It's going to ask if you want to run a LUA script. Click yes. Go down to the third box that says 'Enable'. To modify your stats, meaning your level, souls, and all of that, click the box next to Hero Stats. Everything there is self-explanatory. Right click on them and select Change Record > Value to change the actual number. Say your character's soul level is 10. You right click it and select Change Record > Value and type in 17. You are now level seventeen.

Modifying weapons/items is now easy. Go to Highlighted Item Mod on the cheat table, open the Item Replacer (LUA), go into your inventory in the game, select the item you want to modify, alt+tab, type in the name of the item you want to replace the selected item with, select where on the upgrade path you want it, and then click Replace Item. To give yourself more of a consumable item, highlight the consumable, alt+tab, right click on quantity in the item replacer area, and change the value.

There are also a bunch of trainers that do all kinds of things. You can unkill bosses if you want to fight them again, turn invincible, always fastroll/ninjaflip, and a few other things. Just play around with it to find everything you need.

Important note: Using any of this to cheat in PvP (aside from giving yourself items/stats appropriate for your level to avoid grinding) makes you a horrible fucking person and also a double hollow. What the hell is wrong with you? God, I hate you so much.

Bugs I've found/had reported:
If you use the cheat engine too many times, it can mess up your control scheme. So make sure you don't use it when in front of an NPC, because it's possible to accidentally attack them while trying to open a menu. To fix it, just restart the game.

If you keep the actual cheat engine open (not the data.ct LUA script), it'll crash your game often. The data.ct thing might also crash it, but I haven't had that happen to me yet. To fix this, stop fucking cheating or close the cheat engine as soon as you're done with it. I don't know any other fixes.

Alright, open the game. Alt+tab out and then open the cheat engine. There's a button up top that is 'Select a process to open.' Hit that and choose the darksouls DATA one. Check your inventory in game to find the item you want to transmute. Say you want to turn a Soul of the Lost Undead into 99 titanite slabs.

Soul of the Lost Undead's hex id, according to the document: 190. First, mark hex next to the value bar. You then type that in on the 'value' bar in the cheat engine and press first scan. A long list of numbers will appear. Go back to the game and drop all of your souls of the lost undead. Go back to the cheat engine and look at the long list of values. Some of them will have changed into a long row of FFFFFFFFF. Double click on all of those that you find in the list. Then go back into the game and pick the item up. Alt+tab out again and see if the FFFFFF values changed on the list of items you selected. Pick the one on top that changed. Right click it and select "Change value." Change the value to 42E, that of a titanite slab. You just turned your lost souls into titanite slabs. Now you need to make 99 of them. Right click the value again and select "Browse memory region." A list of numbers will open. The fifth number on the top row of numbers is how many there are. Double click that number and change it to 99. You just made 99 titanite slabs. Delete all the entries that you selected.

Generating items is something I haven't figured out yet and my friend doesn't know either, so I can't help you there. I also don't know how to make spells, but apparently it's possible to give yourself more copies of what you already have.

Turning a blank sword into a typed sword is different. Say you want to turn a +15 longsword into a +5 chaos longsword. First, look up the longsword's ID, which is 31128. However, this isn't a regular longsword, it's a +15 longsword. The math here is relatively simple. If you scroll all the way down on the document, you'll see what each value for changed weapons is. Standard weapons are 0, chaos is 9. What isn't shown are the numbers like +1 to +15. A standard +15 weapon would need to add 015. A +5 chaos would be 905. +10 fire is 110. So you need to do some math here.

Open up the standard windows calculator. Hit 'view' and select programmer. Select Hex and type in 31128. Then hit Dec and add 15 to the number you get. Hit hex again to get the value for the +15 longsword, 31137. Plug that number into the 'value' slot on the cheat engine and scan again. Then repeat the process of dropping your +15 sword, selecting the FFFFFFF values, picking the sword up, and finding your value. Once you get the specific sword, right click on it and go to change the value. Time to go back to the calculator. Select hex, type in 31128, change it to dec, add 905, change it back to hex to get, 314b1. That's the value you want to change the sword into.

Once you get that, turn the game on and pick a character. Then alt+tab out and open that file. Once you do that, just click on the box next to the middle option. A list of things will drop down. Most of them are self-intuitive. You can change your level, your stats, the amount of souls you have, your covenant, your humanity level, what kind of phantom you are, and several other things. Just note that this is hella cheating and if you use this to cheat in PvP, you're a fucking dickwad.
