  10. * demo has Screen and Controls options on main menu; retail moves these to Options
  11.  
  12. Pause Screen:
  13. * demo version only has Quit and Continue; the retail version has Return to Game,
  14. Mission, Options, Restart Level, and Quit Level
  15. * demo version lacks kill count and secret count
  16. * the highlighted option text is metallic brown in the demo and white in the retail
  17.  
  18. Gameplay:
  19. * demo starts off in Comm Center; retail starts in Strogg Outpost
  20. * demo starts you outside the pipe; the retail starts you inside the pipe, as you
  21. enter the level that way
  22. * the Light Guard at the beginning of the level is absent in the demo version
  23. * the super shotgun at the beginning of the level is absent in the demo version
  24. * the demo has a shotgun and jacket armour up the stairs; this is absent in the
  25. retail version
  26. * the left alcove past the pool has a super shotgun and a Guard in the demo version;
  27. the retail version just has bullets there instead

  31. * the green slime in the next room doesn't damage you in the demo version (it
  32. causes the scream of pain sound effect but doesn't deduct from health or armour)
  33. * the blue key door has a brighter texture that is a bit more green
  34. * there is a rocket launcher beside the stairs to the next room in the area with
  35. the blue key door; the retail version lacks this rocket launcher
  36. * demo ends when entering next level, with no prompt to save the game (obviously)
