  1. Description: Fueled by paranoia that her sister’s might take her husband away for themselves, Navy rum rations, and feelings of insecurity over being the only Lilim without a personal Demon Realm have driven Glilia’s top Admiral to an extreme course of action.
  2.
  3. That dreadful day would haunt me for all of time. The Demon Lord and her husband, my parents, were holding court. All my sisters were in attendance as requested. This little gathering of the family happened every time one of Mommy’s lil’ Lilims found a husband. They had always been times of celebration but this felt like I was on trial by the Order.
  4.
  5. My mother, father and sisters all had their eyes directed towards me. However, I had the most disturbing feeling that they weren’t looking at me, but rather my choice of attire.
  6.
  7. “Why does my daughter wear a suit?” Came the question from mother’s lips. I could hear some of my older sisters as they tried to hide their giggling. My tail quivered as the anger built up. How could my siblings ever understand? My mind was made up and there would be no turning back.
  8.
  9. “A suit? Mother, I’ll have you know this is a Royal Navy uniform.” I won myself a small victory by maintaining a tone of respect while still holding my ground. No matter the outcome, I was going to stand tall and wear the uniform with pride, just as my beloved always does.
  10.
  11. “What a funny looking hat, such a silly thing! Can you wear it over your horns or is it just for show?” Such insolence could have only come from the self titled ‘Queen of Hearts’ herself. I looked on straight ahead. No point in dignifying her with eye contact or an answer. I knew she was wearing that little girl‘s mocking smile that she loved so much. Some big sister she was. But I digress.
  12.
  13. “That is quite enough from you.” Our mother commanded. Mama must have been the only person that spoiled brat of Wonderland ever gave respect to. It baffled the mind to think that there was someone little miss QoH would actually obey.
  14.
  15. I glanced towards papa and saw a glint in his eyes. He looked like he was going through a little bit of nostalgia. Feeling the blush on my cheeks, I quickly looked away. I think he saw a part of himself when he looked at me. As if I reminded him of when he was the hero of the chief goddess and chose to leave to follow his own path.
  16.
  17. “When do we get to meet my newest son-in-law?” The question shook me out of my deep thoughts. ‘Nigel is my husband and I’d rather fight for the Order than let my sisters anywhere near him!’ That was the answer I wanted to give to mom. Needing to choose more tactful wording quickly, my true response was “Unfortunately, and with great reluctance, He wasn’t able to be here today. Nigel is busy attending to the details of our upcoming honeymoon.”
  18.
  19. Oh and look at that, both my inner and voiced answers were true. Mama and papa would meet Nigel but not with those deplorable creatures stalking about. I made a mental note to spirit way any new additions to the sibling roster to keep my future sisters from becoming like ‘them.’
  20.
  21. “When is the wedding?” asked my father. “Oh yes the wedding! Please let us know?” chimed in from one of the horrible sisters with far too much enthusiasm. Why dad, why!? Those bitches know that Nigel is the only good in my life and they will use any opportunity to take him from me, I know it!
  22.
  23. Yet again, I digress.
  24.
  25. “The date hasn’t been scheduled. However, the wedding won’t be too far off and I will let everyone know as soon as we have a set date.” Yes, only a little bit more and I should be able to go.
  26.
  27. “Why the wait? Let’s have the wedding here at the castle one week from today.” I couldn’t help but wince. Mama, I would love to but that’s not my decision! ‘That won’t be possible.’ No that could be taken as a challenge to mother. Shite, this could be tricky. “Well, as a favor to Nigel and to welcome me into his Kingdom, His Majesty is personally seeing to the wedding plans.” I was asking every deity, even the Chief warmonger herself, for help on this one. I was willing to give up everything but Nigel just to let that answer be sufficient for mom. “Good, then we shall see to helping your beloved with honeymoon plans. I can’t see why he wouldn’t consider staying here for such a beautiful occasion.” My mother declared.
  28.
  29. In hindsight, I imagine she was pleased that her daughter was being so well accepted by a human king that he would try to honor her as a wedding planner. Pride in her daughter, perhaps pleased to see another puzzle peace of her grand plan fall into place. Mom was happy and the wedding wouldn’t be at the castle. On the other hand; ‘I cantfuckingwinsonofarabidwerewolfnun! Those sisterbitchesbetterstayawayfrommyman!’ seems to be my thoughts at the time of that declaration.
  30.
  31. “I’ll let him know…” Was all I could muster. It felt like all the energy, strength, and demonic power were leaving my body. Muscle memory built up over the last few weeks had to do what my mind couldn’t seem to manage. I heard the familiar sound of my own heels clicking together as my right hand came up to my brow. I think my sisters were more surprised by my salute than anything. “Captain Lady Fischer begs leave to report back to Command as ordered, Ma’am!”
  32.
  33. Dad wholly amused, sisters in shock (HA!) and the Demon Lord blinked a few times before giving a wave and dismissing me. With an about face, I was walking out of the room.
  34.

  36.
  37. Miracles do happen. The wedding was wonderful, but Mom and Papa attended and that caused a bit of trouble for Glilia. A few bordering nations under Order influence declared war. We had to postpone the honeymoon as both my husband and I were called upon to fight. So my Nigel was kept away from my sisters because of what would go down in history as the quickest and most one sided conflict in centuries.
  38.
  39.
  40. That all happened about four years ago. Now, I’m sitting at my desk and thinking things over with a second glass of rum and my good friend, Bad Mood. This isn’t how I imagined victory. Keep the siblings at bay by fighting the Church. Horrible!
  41.
  42. Fight my sisters or fight the Order and its allies. Damn them both! But how to damn them? Some of my sisters are very powerful, strong enough to take on gods if they chose to! How does one fight against that and still fend off the Order? I am surprised how the answer just came to my enraged, tipsy mind. I will miss the buzz but that doesn’t matter now that everything is clicking together and making sense.
  43.
  44.
  45. The King wasn’t from this world! Everyone knows the story of how he was born into this world but only a handful of advisors in Glilia and Zipangu actually knew any information about the world he left behind. His Majesty sometimes spoke of the power that his world held. No magic, no monsters, just enough military strength to destroy everything their world could ever hold.
  46.
  47. No monsters. That only means there will be no influence by the Order. I can go to that world, use my charms to win the hearts and souls of the ruling classes.
  48.
  49. Yes. I can remove the temptation of using those destructive weapons by taking them away. As Admiral, this mission will be my responsibility alone. With those destructive weapons, combined with my own powers, both worlds would know peace!
  50.
  51. Yes.
  52.
  53. My sisters WILL be humbled, the Order WILL be convinced to stop fighting and the gods Will know they have no strength to use against me.
  54.
  55. I must make all the arrangements for this endeavor. Surely Nigel can handle our daughter by himself for a few days.
