  1. Hi Kris and Allan,
  2.
  3. I am having a problem with ZFS replication, and I figured that since it was cross-platform, this was the place to send my question.
  4.
  5. I have a PC-BSD desktop, defiant, and a FreeNAS box, luna. In my ideal world, I would be doing ZFS replication from defiant -> luna, and from luna -> defiant. I had the first part of this set up under, as I recall, 10.1. I was doing nightly replication to luna, and everything was working. I had life preserver set up to exclude snapshotting the NFS mounts from luna, and on luna, I turned off snapshotting of the sends dataset from defiant.
  6.
  7. I 'm not sure when it stopped working, but some time after the 10.3 upgrade, I went into LP on defiant and found "No Successful Replication" listed. In luna's logs, I found after a reboot that all of the datasets under sends give an error "cannot mount <data set>: File name too long".
  8.
  9. I have tried to restart replication on defiant, but have had no luck. So how do I get replication working again, and what is that filename too long, and how do I stop it from happening?
  10.
  11. Thanks guys,
  12. --b
