  1. Ok. So first things first. Mibbit is really all you need as far as an irc client goes, and from what I've seen it even has some features that others don't (such as a dedicated image uploader, and a url shortener). But you may want something that isn't a tab or window in your browser (like I did) and this is for you guys.
  2.
  3. ChatZilla: If you have firefox, this is probably the easiest alternative to use. After you get the add-on, type /server irc.esper.net in the box at the bottom.
  4.
  5. -Then type /nick and whatever you want your nickname to be afterwards, for example: /nick Pudd. You can do this at anytime afterwards.
  6.
  7. -After, type /join #bluhbluh and you'll be connected to the channel.
  8.
  9. -Once that's done, select the IRC menu from the top and click on "Open this channel at startup" so you never have to deal with that shit again.
  10.
  11. -Also tool around with the preferences and stuff so you can get the thing working to your liking. If any questions persist, ask us in the channel or consult http://www.irchelp.org/ or http://chatzilla.hacksrus.com/faq/#connect
  12.
  13. mIRC: This is an application independent of any browser so if that kind of stuff strikes your fancy go ahead and download it here http://www.mirc.com/get.html It may say you need to purchase it or something to that effect, but you don't really. You can keep it well past the expiration date and the only bad thing is just a nag screen which will let you continue after a few seconds. However, there exist cracked versions of mIRC and I can maybe hook you up somehow *cough* zimmeow@gmail *cough*
  14.
  15. -Anyway, mIRC is pretty kick ass. Once you start it up, it'll come up with some screen and though it may seem important it's actually not that important to fill it out first. But you can.
  16.
  17. -Just put your nickname or somethin else that id's you as your Full Name, an email address, your nickname, an alt and then select Servers from the sidebar under the Connect folder. Select the EsperNet folder and you are set to press that Connect button and get on with the show. But first.
  18. -Mess around with all the options (Hopy SHIT there are a ton of options) in and below the Connect folder thing in the sidebar. Get a configuration that you like and THEN you are ready for the next thing.
  19.
  20. -Ok so you should get a little window that says mIRC favorites or something. Ignore it. Type #bluhbluh into the text box, click Join and then you will know Kung Fu or some lazy cliche. Like superpowers. Or Batman. Or whatever the fuck the newest anime uses. Sage Mode or some shit. Man I do not know a damn thing about anime.
  21.
  22. -Also go here (http://www.irchelp.org) if you need help that you think the channel can't provide. It was mostly written around mIRC.
  23.
  24. Pidgin (my client of choice, but that isn't a very high recommendation. It's probably a really shitty one to be honest.) I am assuming you know some shit about Pidgin for this, if you don't then I really can't recommend it. In fact if you don't have Pidgin experience it would be much easier to connect to #bluhbluh using a pinecone, some peanut butter and an actual pidgeon.
  25.
  26. -Alright let's get all birdy up in this bitch.
  27.
  28. -Add a new account in an IRC Protocol, set your nickname as your username, server is irc.esper.net
  29.
  30. -In the window that pops up, go to Join a Chat under the Conversation tab, choose the esper account from the Account drop down menu, type #bluhbluh as the Channel (also you can go exploring in the Room List button). Click Join and voi-fucking-la.
  31.
  32. Well that wraps this fucker up. Let's put it to sleep.
  33.
  34. Good luck, bros. Post in the thread if you need help.
  35.
  36. -Pudd
