  1. General Battle Frontier (Gen 4) FAQ
  2.
  3. The Battle Frontier is a post game place, with 5 different facilities, all with different gimmicks, where you can battle. In all 5 of these facilities you can Battle your way through "Sets". A set is usually compromised of 7 battles of 3v3, though in the Battle Hall it is 10 battles of 1v1. If you clear all the battles, you complete the set, and can move onto the next set. However if you lose any battle at anytime, you must begin from the start of set 1 again.
  4.
  5. After clearing enough sets, you can fight the Frontier Brain of that Facilty. Win against the Frontier Brain and you get a Silver Print for that facility. Clear enough sets and you get to fight a rematch with the Frontier Brain, win the rematch and you get a Gold Print. It is all of these that I am looking for. The amount of sets you need to win are:
  6. Factory: Silver: 3 | Gold: 7
  7. Hall: Silver: 5 | Gold: 17
  8. Castle: Silver: 3 | Gold: 7
  9. Arcade: Silver: 3 | Gold: 7
  10. Tower: Silver: 3 | Gold: 7
  11.
  12. As you progress through each set, the battles get more difficult. Both by stats and Pokemon, at the start you'll see low stat Pokemon like Gible and Chimchar, then as you progress you'll see rounds with pokemon like Gabite and Monferno, and then finally Garchomp and Infernape.
  13.
  14. Trainers are broken up into categories, as are Pokemon. The way this works is slightly different in the Battle Hall, so this is only true for the other 4 facilities.
  15.
  16. In these facilities there are 8 groups of Trainers / Pokemon that are linked together. That is to say trainers from Group 1 will use Pokemon from Group 1, and so on. How you encounter these trainers works as follows:
  17.
  18. Set 1: Battle 1-6: Group 1 | Battle 7: Group 2
  19. Set 2: Battle 1-6: Group 1 or 2 | Battle 7: Group 3
  20. Set 3: Battle 1-6: Group 2 or 3 | Battle 7: Frontier Brain
  21. Set 4: Battle 1-6: Group 3 or 4 | Battle 7: Group 5
  22. Set 5: Battle 1-6: Group 4 or 5 | Battle 7: Group 6
  23. Set 6: Battle 1-6: Group 5 or 6 | Battle 7: Group 7
  24. Set 7: Battle 1-6: Group 6 or 7 | Battle 7: Frontier Brain
  25.
  26. It isn't just the Pokemon that change though. The IVs of these Pokemon also increase, as the Trainer level increase. The IVs are all the same across the board for any given Pokemon.
  27.
  28. For the Battle Tower / Castle / Arcade, a Trainer from Group 1 has IVs of all 3s on all their Pokemon. Group 2 trainers have all 6s, 3's have all 9s, etc etc. In the Battle Factory, they start at 0 and go up by 4s instead.
  29.
  30. Of note is that the Pokemon in Group 2 / 3 are the same, but their movesets and items are different. The same is true of Pokemon in Group 4 - 7.
