  4. [2015-03-25 21:05:23]<EchoesOfDeath> The beat of the music goes into late night, and the lights flash inside the lounge of Morrow's Redemption. The punch was drained away by the dancing crowd and the snacks vanish. Some of the party-goers leave little by little, but many seem to be ready to stay all night, with weeks of unspent energy.
  5. [2015-03-25 21:06:49]* Cambiance bobs her head to the music as the party goes on. "EVERYPONY HAVING A GOOD TME!?"
  6. [2015-03-25 21:07:26]<EchoesOfDeath> "YEAH!!!" The crowd cheers loud.
  7. [2015-03-25 21:08:58]* Cambiance grins. "GOOD. BECAUSE WE'RE GOING ALL NIGHT!!!"
  8. [2015-03-25 21:09:27]* Swift_Hurddle joins in the cheer, "YEAH!". He puctuates it with a whoop and a leaping hoof pump in mid air after the news of a full nights worth of PARTY!
  9. [2015-03-25 21:10:06]<EchoesOfDeath> "WOOO!!!" The crowd jumps and cheers. All dancing wild, some in pairs, others in crowds.

  12. [2015-03-25 21:19:14]* Backlash combs the crowd from the edge of the room, but doesn't find anypony she really wants to talk with. Instead she enjoys the energy from outside the crowd.
  13. [2015-03-25 21:25:23]<EchoesOfDeath> Colored lights flash and swirl over the the dim lounge. In the back, Rosebee and Raven rest on a couch together. They seem a little tipsy. The crowd dances back and forth, Monochrome, Aegis and even the guard who introduced Backlash to the Commissioner are dancing but past all the movement, Cambiance spots the deputy mayor entering the lounge with a deep scowl. Backlash sees all this, and also spots shapes moving in the darkness

  15. [2015-03-25 21:26:59]* Swift_Hurddle dances to the music obliviously
  16. [2015-03-25 21:27:31]* Backlash looks around nervously
  17. [2015-03-25 21:27:33]* Cambiance smiles at two fillies, and acknowledges but mostly ignores the Commissioner. She'd deal with him when and if it became relevant.
  18. [2015-03-25 21:31:31]<Backlash> >. She should have known the party would draw attention. She thinks, at first, that everyone should be safe... then she tenses up. The shield crystals don't work. Her breathing kicks up, panic sets in. She looks around aimlessly for something to do, somepony to tell. Cambiance. She edges around the room, trying to get to the filly's stage.
  19. [2015-03-25 21:34:07]* Swift_Hurddle bumps flanks with a pony next to him, "WOOP WOOP!"
  20. [2015-03-25 21:40:12]<EchoesOfDeath> One of the other teenager ponies bumps flanks with Swift_Hurddle
  21. [2015-03-25 21:41:18]* Swift_Hurddle "Yah!"
  22. [2015-03-25 21:41:43]<EchoesOfDeath> Backlash squeezes herself into the crowd and finally reaches Cambiance's stage
  23. [2015-03-25 21:42:23]<EchoesOfDeath> The Deputy Mayor looks at the bowls of punch, bottles and bags of snacks with a look of shock.
  24. [2015-03-25 21:43:11]<EchoesOfDeath> "Woo!" The pony cheers
  25. [2015-03-25 21:43:37]* Cambiance smiles tipsily at Backlash. "Hey! Enjoying the party?"
  26. [2015-03-25 21:44:15]* Backlash shakes her head nervously.
  27. [2015-03-25 21:44:24]<Cambiance> "What's wrong?"
  28. [2015-03-25 21:46:25]* Swift_Hurddle points to the stage, "Thats my friend, we whent to school together", he says with a smile in a loud voice over the music to his temporary dance partner.
  29. [2015-03-25 21:47:26]<EchoesOfDeath> The buck dances with Swift_Hurddle. "Oh, cool! Wow, it feels like forever since I had school."
  30. [2015-03-25 21:48:46]* Cambiance frowns. "Something's up."
  31. [2015-03-25 21:49:32]* Backlash nods quickly. "Outside, something. The building's not safe, remember!"
  32. [2015-03-25 21:49:47]<Backlash> "What do we do? "
  33. [2015-03-25 21:50:02]* Swift_Hurddle jokes with his dance partner, "Ya, imagine the make up work we will have to do later right?"
  34. [2015-03-25 21:50:41]<Cambiance> "Do you think we're in trouble right now? I mean, we've been partying so far, and nothing too bad has happened yet."
  35. [2015-03-25 21:52:12]<Backlash> "What if something breaks in? There's so many ponies here, and none of em are armed..."
  36. [2015-03-25 21:53:10]* Cambiance sobers up a bit. "Do you think the infected ponies are getting riled up? Should we check or something?"
  37. [2015-03-25 21:53:58]<EchoesOfDeath> The Deputy Mayor looks like she is about to explode.

  43. [2015-03-25 21:57:55]<EchoesOfDeath> The buck laughs. "Getting into college is gonna be a bit harder."
  44. [2015-03-25 21:58:02]<Backlasf> "I dunno, there's stuff outside, an'... somepony's at the entrance, they don't look happy. We might needa... shut it down, or something, take a break for a few minutes."
  45. [2015-03-25 21:58:09]* Swift_Hurddle Laughs at the joke

  47. [2015-03-25 21:59:04]<EchoesOfDeath> "I'm from Carrot Pencil High." He says. "Well, I was."
  48. [2015-03-25 21:59:13]* Cambiance nods. "Okay, break sounds good. Let me just make that announcement then..."
  49. [2015-03-25 22:00:07]* Cambiance addresses the crowd once more. "Hate to break it to you, ponies, but it looks like we'll need to take a quick break due to some technical difficulties and such. Stick around! We'll try to get back up and running soon!"
  50. [2015-03-25 22:00:13]* Cambiance regretfully turns off the music.
  51. [2015-03-25 22:01:00]<EchoesOfDeath> "Awww..." The crowd moans.
  52. [2015-03-25 22:01:45]<EchoesOfDeath> "You!" The Deputy Mare pushes against the ponies to get to Cambiance. "What is the meaning of this?!"
  53. [2015-03-25 22:02:30]* Cambiance stands her ground. "It's a party ma'am."
  54. [2015-03-25 22:03:28]* Backlasf tries to get out of the way, but stays close.
  55. [2015-03-25 22:05:25]* Swift_Hurddle whines with the rest of the party goers, "Dang, well I guess a break isnt the worst thing". He whipes his brow, "May have needed it... so! Carrot Pencil High huh? You guys have a decent hoof ball team, the new stadium was nice. So whats your name?"
  56. [2015-03-25 22:06:17]<EchoesOfDeath> "Who let you do that?! This... wasteful foalishness!" The Deputy Mare shouts

  58. [2015-03-25 22:08:09]<Cambiance> "Perhaps we weren't given the whole tour when we arrived, but I don't recall any rules against this. Ma'am. Besides, look at everypony. Ponies are smiling! I felt like I haven't seen three whole smiles combined in the time I've been here. Morale has at least some value."
  59. [2015-03-25 22:12:44]<EchoesOfDeath> "My name is Mudslide." The brown earth pony buck says. "Our hoofball team is great, but I didn't play in it."
  60. [2015-03-25 22:14:06]* Swift_Hurddle "Fun to watch though, so how did you wind up here? Me and Cambiance arrived yesterday with a group that holed up in a book store downtown"
  61. [2015-03-25 22:17:47]<EchoesOfDeath> "Again this morale nonsense. Resources have to be carefully managed to keep everyone alive. I want to see any of you smiling when you are starving." The Deputy Mayor glares at Cambiance
  62. [2015-03-25 22:22:25]* Cambiance nods. "That's a fair point, but it's moot if nopony has the will to go on. Ponies need some hope and cheer to live on. Besides, there's a lot of ponies here, right? Ponies don't always act their best in crowds, and scared and sad ponies act even worse. There needs to be some kind of community and joy. Otherwise... frightened ponies can make very poor decisions."
  63. [2015-03-25 22:24:06]* Backlash takes her focus off the conversation and looks out a window instead.
  64. [2015-03-25 22:27:18]* Swift_Hurddle pals around with Mudslide
  65. [2015-03-25 22:27:46]<EchoesOfDeath> Backlash, still sees things moving in the shadows, wandering without a destination
  66. [2015-03-25 22:28:42]<EchoesOfDeath> "Like wasting resources on a party." The Deputy Mayor says pointedly.
  67. [2015-03-25 22:28:56]* Backlash is fixated on the figures moving around.
  68. [2015-03-25 22:32:36]<EchoesOfDeath> "I've been here for a week or something. When things got weird I set off on my own. Tried to get home but nopony was there..." He trails off sadly.
  69. [2015-03-25 22:33:11]* Cambiance frowns. "It's not wasting resources. There's a point to all this. Besides, like I said, nopony told us about any rules against this sort of thing."
  70. [2015-03-25 22:34:45]* Swift_Hurddle nods, "I didnt even make it that far, not sure what happened to the old man. Still I have my hath so far and if he is out there ill find him at some point"

  72. [2015-03-25 22:45:22]<EchoesOfDeath> The mare's scowl twitches. "Well, I expect ponies here to have a modicum of common sense. Is that too much to ask?"
  73. [2015-03-25 22:46:38]<EchoesOfDeath> The Party Crowd watches as the argument goes on, disappointed for the lack of music.
  74. [2015-03-25 22:48:23]* Cambiance smiles. "With all due respect Ma'am, by party standards, we're pretty full of common sense over here. I mean, we haven't even started the mosh pit yet. Besides, that common sense talk is baloney. You can't punish ponies for no 'common sense.' Rules need to be concrete. You can't just make them up as you go."
  75. [2015-03-25 22:48:35]* Cambiance gestures to the crowd. "Isn't that right ponies?"
  76. [2015-03-25 22:49:09]<Cambiance> "I mean, if we're violating some written, explicit rules, fine. But you can't just get all mad arbitrarily. That's not how good authority works."
  77. [2015-03-25 22:54:32]<EchoesOfDeath> The crowd nods to each other. "Yeah." "She's right." "I wouldn't obey anyway" "Yeah!" One pony on the back shouts "I want to partay!!!"
  78. [2015-03-25 22:56:39]* Cambiance addresses the crowd again. "Wait a sec, ponies. If we are being out of line, and if there are some real, specific non-party rules, then.... We may just have to leave. We need some order, after all. Just none of this 'I decide you're wrong' bull."
  79. [2015-03-25 22:57:03]* Cambiance grins. "But if not... Well, she can always ask nicely, and we can decide then."
  80. [2015-03-25 22:57:14]* Cambiance winks.
  81. [2015-03-25 23:00:07]* Nito has quit (Quit: Connection closed for inactivity)
  82. [2015-03-25 23:01:45]<EchoesOfDeath> She looks the unsatisfied crowd and back at Cambiance. The Mayor Deputy huffs. "This... I... ah, do whatever!" She leaves stomping.
  83. [2015-03-25 23:02:31]* Swift_Hurddle has quit (Quit: Page closed)
  84. [2015-03-25 23:02:59]* Cambiance smiles and cheers. "Thanks for ensuring our safety, Ma'am! We'll get you a specific invite next time!"
  85. [2015-03-25 23:04:14]<EchoesOfDeath> "What bit that pony?" One of the ponies in the back asks.
  86. [2015-03-25 23:05:48]* Cambiance frowns. "Oh, buck..."
