Hosting on BE

First off, assuming you have a zandronum IRC account, in order to create a server you must construct a message to send to the #bestever channel. The hosting command starts with .host, and you can add features by adding the options below.

You can use the following template to create your own message, please note this is just the usual way to host a server, and you can put several "wad=" commands at once; in order to add or remove specific parameters, please refer to the Best-Ever website

Example:
.host hostname="/vr/ plays doom." iwad=doom2.wad wad=hr.wad gamemode=coop

(Gamemodes supported are: coop, ctf, dm, duel, invasion, lms, skulltag, survival, tdm and tlms)


Now, when your server is up, the Bestbot will private message you the RCON password, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, since in order to change settings in-game and/or kick players you need to be logged in with the RCON. Now, join your newly made server like you would do normally for any other kind of server, and then open up the console and type

"send_password [password]"

A message will confirm your password, and then you'll be able to add a server password and alter the dmflags and stuff

You should add these:

sv_forcepassword 1
sv_password yourpassword
addban 121.209.100.142 perm ">imblygen"
addban 24.144.*.* perm "If you're not helios, go over to his house and slap him. He's nearby."
addban 96.39.180.222 perm "We get it, you hate jews, pls go"
addban 71.199.41.187 perm "We get it, you love cock, pls go"
addban 71.84.164.11 perm "shut down THIS *grabs cock*"

In order to add any custom WAD to host it using the Best Ever servers, you need to upload it to their page, and you need to be registered in their website database to do that

Once you're logged in into IRC, type the following line

"/msg BestBot register <yourpassword>"

Then you'll be able to upload any WAD/PK3/PK7 file you want. File limit is 200MB

Don't forget to add vrskins to your server's wad list!
