  1. [19:58] GM [A direct continuation of the previous log, picking up where we left off...]
  2. [20:00] WhateverItIs starts to realize that perhaps things are not transpiring like it thought they would.
  3. [20:00] Tiara say no more. She has no idea what to do, but one thing is certain... This is an otherworldly creature, and she is the only one standing between it and her sister.
  4. [20:01] Miaka Tiara, I wanna go home...
  5. [20:02] [9]Ashley watches the creature and the sisters, wondering in her head what she should do.
  6. [20:02] WhateverItIs "I, I can try to explain."
  7. [20:02] Tiara ...
  8. [20:03] Tiara 's grip on Miaka's hand tightens.
  9. [20:03] Tiara Me too.
  10. [20:03] WhateverItIs "It's... I didn't know you... I thought you would know."
  11. [20:03] Miaka stares back at the creature.
  12. [20:03] WhateverItIs looks rather pathetic right now, actually.
  13. [20:03] Miaka ...just what the hell are you? Why are you here?
  14. [20:04] [9]Ashley walks straight over to the creature and sticks her hand out at it.
  15. [20:04] WhateverItIs looks down, trying to sort out the answer from its mind.
  16. [20:05] [9]Ashley shoves her hand right in its face.
  17. [20:05] [9]Ashley "Shake."
  18. [20:05] WhateverItIs jumps back a little bit, surprised.
  19. [20:05] WhateverItIs "Wha-what? Who..."
  20. [20:06] WhateverItIs remembers that the girls don't want it to ask questions.
  21. [20:06] WhateverItIs sticks out its little arm and shakes the tips of Ashley's fingers.
  22. [20:06] Dizzy , having found no answers as to what's going on from inside the nearby store, walks out to find several people huddled about. She moves over to them, without anything else to go on.
  23. [20:07] [9]Ashley "Good."
  24. [20:07] [9]Ashley reaches into her other other pyjama pocket and pulls out a dog treat. She sets it on the creature's nose.
  25. [20:07] Tiara ....
  26. [20:07] [9]Ashley "Stay."
  27. [20:07] GM [Dizzy notices that as she moves towards the cluster, the glass-world slowly fades back to normality.]
  28. [20:08] Tiara now understand that this is a creature with an equivalent characteristics of a dog.
  29. [20:08] Dizzy stops and moves back and forth a bit to see if it depends on distance.
  30. [20:08] GM [The transition does indeed depend on the distance from the cluster]
  31. [20:08] GM [WhateverItIs has a rather stubby nose and the treat rolls off of it.]
  32. [20:08] Miaka ....
  33. [20:08] Miaka Hey, what are you doing? It's not a dog.
  34. [20:08] Tiara flips role with Miaka, now that the imminent threat is no more. She steps behind Miaka, not wanting to be exposed to the world in general.
  35. [20:09] WhateverItIs picks up the treat and looks at it. It's not really sure what to do with it.
  36. [20:09] [9]Ashley takes the treat again and sets it down on the bridge of the creature's nose.
  37. [20:09] [9]Ashley "S t a y."
  38. [20:09] Miaka Hey, you! Knock it off! We're trying to get some answers!
  39. [20:09] WhateverItIs keeps very still, trying to balance the treat.
  40. [20:09] [9]Ashley ignores the other girl.
  41. [20:10] Miaka Stop distracting it!
  42. [20:10] [9]Ashley watches the creature intently, then picks the treat up off its nose and holds it to its mouth.
  43. [20:10] [9]Ashley "Good boy."
  44. [20:11] Tiara is now less afraid as its threat level is decreasing super-fast.
  45. [20:11] Miaka Hey, airhead! Don't you notice what's going on?
  46. [20:11] WhateverItIs looks cross-eyed at the treat.
  47. [20:12] WhateverItIs tries to grab it again rather than eat it.
  48. [20:12] Dizzy , her answer now neatly in tow, approaches the group.
  49. [20:12] [9]Ashley ignores Miaka again and lets the creature have the treat.
  50. [20:12] WhateverItIs notices Dizzy approaching. It looks at her questioningly, but says nothing.
  51. [20:13] Miaka Hey! Don't ignore me!
  52. [20:13] Miaka kicks the oblivious girl in the rear.
  53. [20:13] WhateverItIs looks back at Miaka, thinking that she was addressing it.
  54. [20:14] WhateverItIs "Oh, the, the explaining..."
  55. [20:14] [9]Ashley yelps, then turns around and slaps Miaka.
  56. [20:15] WhateverItIs is partially distracted by the treat in its hands, but tries to focus on giving the girls some sort of answer.
  57. [20:15] Miaka Kya-!
  58. [20:15] Miaka You bitch!
  59. [20:15] [9]Ashley "Me? You're the one kicking me in the bum out of nowhere!"
  60. [20:15] Miaka tackles the girl, sending both of them into a tustle on the ground.
  61. [20:16] WhateverItIs gets distracted again looking at the girls arguing back and forth. It watches intently and curiously.
  62. [20:16] Dizzy notices the strange creature also and goes past the others towards it, merely observing for the moment since she hasn't seen it talk.
  63. [20:16] [9]Ashley falls over with Miaka and starts to struggle against her.
  64. [20:16] Tiara wha-
  65. [20:16] Miaka \CATFIGHT/
  66. [20:17] Tiara should stop them from fighting, but she lacks courage to.
  67. [20:17] WhateverItIs without thinking starts to gnaw on the biscuit. It doesn't seem to make much progress.
  68. [20:17] WhateverItIs plods over to Dizzy. Perhaps this person won't yell at it if it asks questions.
  69. [20:17] [9]Ashley wrestles Miaka, doing her best to not get too beat up.
  70. [20:17] WhateverItIs "Hello. Who are you?"
  71. [20:19] Dizzy is obviously quite surprised at the creature talking, and crouches down to watch it closely as she answers.
  72. [20:20] Dizzy "My name's Amaryllis. Who are you?"
  73. [20:20] WhateverItIs actually has some trouble answering that.
  74. [20:20] Miaka rolls around on the ground with Ashley, trying to pull at her hair and all in all having a typical teenaged girl fight
  75. [20:20] Tiara , once again trying to take no part of this. She use the new random person as a guinea pig and observe information from the conversation.
  76. [20:21] WhateverItIs "I... It, hnnumm... I, am myself?"
  77. [20:22] [9]Ashley tries to bap Miaka in the face
  78. [20:22] WhateverItIs "I don't... I don't remember if I have a name."
  79. [20:22] WhateverItIs "Do I need to have a name? Is that a normal thing?"
  80. [20:24] [9]Ashley shoves Miaka off of her and rolls towards Dizzy and the creature.
  81. [20:24] Miaka is bapped in the face and cries out as she's shoved off.
  82. [20:25] Dizzy "Generally, yes. But you could just tell me what you are if you want."
  83. [20:25] [9]Ashley "I -GASP- want to call -WHEEZE- him Fluffy."
  84. [20:25] [9]Ashley tries to catch her breath.
  85. [20:26] Dizzy analyzes the answers she gets closely to make sure the creature gives perfectly coherent answers. Even after the whole glass thing, this could still be a trick...
  86. [20:26] WhateverItIs "Hnumm... What I am... I, am myself?"
  87. [20:26] WhateverItIs "I don't know how to answer that..."
  88. [20:27] WhateverItIs "I know that I'm not what you are. Is that an answer?"
  89. [20:28] Tiara quickly proceeds to help Miaka up, silently.
  90. [20:28] Miaka picks herself up into a sitting position, holding her nose. Now she's in an even worse mood than before.
  91. [20:28] Dizzy seems to be losing patience.
  92. [20:29] Miaka takes Tiara's hand and pulls her away, well and through with the situation.
  93. [20:29] Miaka Come on, Tiara. We're going home.
  94. [20:29] Dizzy "No. Can you even tell me what you're doing here?"
  95. [20:29] WhateverItIs thinks hard. This person isn't shouting; it wants to give better answers to this person!
  96. [20:30] Miaka pulls her sister along with her as she walks away from the creature, seemingly not caring about the fact that the world around them is steadily growing less and less normal.
  97. [20:30] WhateverItIs "I'm trying to think... Nyrrmmm, it's so hard to explain..."
  98. [20:31] WhateverItIs "What's a good word... a beacon? A herald? A guide?"
  99. [20:32] WhateverItIs "A word like that. I, I think that's why I'm here..."
  100. [20:33] WhateverItIs "But... no, no, that's, that's not a good answer. How do I..."
  101. [20:33] Dizzy "You think. Have you got anything to do with the distortions further away from you?"
  102. [20:34] Dizzy keeps her cool, but is clearly finding it a little harder to do
  103. [20:34] WhateverItIs looks outwards and once again notices the glassworld all around it. It also notices Miaka and Tiara leaving.
  104. [20:35] WhateverItIs suddenly gets the urge to follow them.
  105. [20:35] [9]Ashley listens to the two. She's not very amused at Fluffy ignoring her.
  106. [20:36] WhateverItIs "Wait, wait! No, you... It's not safe!"
  107. [20:36] Tiara glances, and see the monster rears its head at their general direction. Her pace automatically quickens.
  108. [20:36] Miaka Shut up! We're tired of this! We're going home!
  109. [20:36] Tiara ...but the word 'not safe' lingers in her mind. Doubt is there, but fear of an unknown creature currently exceeds that treshold.
  110. [20:37] WhateverItIs "The... the further away you go, the more unstable it becomes!"
  111. [20:37] Miaka ignores the creature and keeps moving away.
  112. [20:38] WhateverItIs double-takes on itself. Wait... it does?
  113. [20:38] WhateverItIs is at a crossroads. Two of them are leaving, two of them are staying.
  114. [20:39] Tiara Miaka... I don't like this spreading glass world...
  115. [20:39] Tiara maybe we should---?
  116. [20:39] Tiara ---listen to 'it', is what she's about to say.
  117. [20:39] WhateverItIs keeps shouting frantically from one pair to the other.
  118. [20:39] [9]Ashley watches the other two leaving. She doesn't really care, not after that tussle.
  119. [20:40] WhateverItIs "It's, it's real! This is real it's really happening!"
  120. [20:40] Miaka Should what? Go back to that thing so it can ask us what it is like we even know?!
  121. [20:40] WhateverItIs "Even if you don't think it is... All of it, real... All of it..."
  122. [20:41] WhateverItIs shakes its head back and forth in frustration, but keeps talking, though its voice gets a little quieter as it goes on.
  123. [20:41] Miaka keeps walking.
  124. [20:41] WhateverItIs "It's still real, still the real world... Still your world. Except, no... No it's not."
  125. [20:42] WhateverItIs now dashes for a while towards Miaka/Tiara, remembers the other two and runs back towards them, then spins around again and runs the other way.
  126. [20:43] WhateverItIs "It, it was your world. Your world only. Then something... something bad, something very not good!"
  127. [20:43] Tiara ...?
  128. [20:43] Tiara It's... speaking in riddles again...?
  129. [20:44] WhateverItIs "And now, there's their world... Lots of their worlds."
  130. [20:44] WhateverItIs is starting to slow down and lose its breath from all the running.
  131. [20:44] [9]Ashley rushes over to the creature.
  132. [20:45] [9]Ashley "Fluffy! What's wrong with you?"
  133. [20:46] WhateverItIs "Their worlds, moving forward, moving backward... More and more and more of them, every day..."
  134. [20:46] WhateverItIs is practically talking to itself by this point.
  135. [20:47] WhateverItIs "It, it was your world... Now it's just another one of theirs."
  136. [20:48] Tiara ?
  137. [20:48] Dizzy "I give up. You don't know who they are either, right?"
  138. [20:49] Dizzy starts to walk off also, albeit in another direction.
  139. [20:51] [9]Ashley stands by the creature, wondering what's wrong with it and not understanding the situation at all.
  140. [21:03] GM [Miaka and Tiara, as the voice of the thing dies down, hear a different sound coming from in front of them. A sort of rhythmic stomping/cracking. It sounds rather ominous...]
  141. [21:04] WhateverItIs looks up at Ashley.
  142. [21:04] WhateverItIs offers her the dog treat.
  143. [21:04] WhateverItIs "I don't like this."
  144. [21:06] Tiara ...
  145. [21:06] Tiara sister...?
  146. [21:07] [9]Ashley takes it back, then looks at it.
  147. [21:07] [9]Ashley ...
  148. [21:07] [9]Ashley offers Fluffy a caramel.
  149. [21:08] GM [From behind a closed convenience store down the road, a frightening THING appears! It is made of long spikes of glass, and looks sickeningly like an 8-foot tall stickman without a head. Though it’s a way aways, it seems to notice the sisters…]
  150. [21:09] WhateverItIs takes the caramel instead, oblivious to much else at the moment.
  151. [21:10] Tiara -------!
  152. [21:10] [9]Ashley pats Fluffy's head and looks around, wondering how the other girls are doing.
  153. [21:11] GM [The Glassman turns towards the sisters, and would be looking at them if it had a head. It's about 50 or 60 yards away, for now.]
  154. [21:11] WhateverItIs has much more success eating the caramel than eating the dog treat.
  155. [21:13] Miaka freezes in her steps, gripping her sister's hand tightly
  156. [21:13] Miaka ...T-Tiara... what is that...?
  157. [21:14] Dizzy stops and begins to head back towards the creature, figuring that since the glass effect starts to fade around it whatever answers there are are at least near it.
  158. [21:16] GM [The Glassman begins, slowly, to walk towards the sisters...]
  159. [21:17] Miaka ...Tiara, run!
  160. [21:17] WhateverItIs , despite its placation, remembers that everyone else left! It looks this way and that, hoping that it can still see them.
  161. [21:17] Miaka holds onto her sister's hand tight as she runs away from the glassman.
  162. [21:18] [9]Ashley looks down at Fluffy.
  163. [21:18] [9]Ashley "What were you trying to talk to those girls about, anyway?
  164. [21:19] WhateverItIs "They, they wanted me to explain..."
  165. [21:20] Tiara runs along with Miaka back to the starting point, though it feels more like she's being dragged.
  166. [21:20] Miaka H-help! We're being chased!
  167. [21:20] GM [The Glassman is picking up speed...]
  168. [21:21] WhateverItIs notices the sisters running back towards them, and then notices the Glassman.
  169. [21:22] WhateverItIs "No... The, the enemies...! Enemies are everywhere; you'll know them when you see them!"
  170. [21:22] WhateverItIs says that as much to itself as to the others.
  171. [21:23] Miaka dares to turn back towards the glassman only after returning to the creature.
  172. [21:23] WhateverItIs is getting nervous and looks at the girls, thinking hard and fast.
  173. [21:23] WhateverItIs "You..."
  174. [21:24] GM [The Glassman runs slower than a human; about a medium jog. But it's still getting closer.]
  175. [21:24] Dizzy makes it back nearer to where the creature is, noticing something is off but too far away to tell what.
  176. [21:25] WhateverItIs "Fight... F-fight! You, you have to fight!"
  177. [21:26] [9]Ashley "With what?!"
  178. [21:26] Miaka F-fight?! You can't be serious!
  179. [21:27] WhateverItIs "I, uhh...! Oh, how do I explain it...?! You, you just, DO!"
  180. [21:27] WhateverItIs "You don't try to fight... You can only fight!"
  181. [21:28] WhateverItIs "If you... what's the word... Believe! Believe you can fight, then you can fight!"
  182. [21:29] WhateverItIs "The enemies still fight if you do not... You kill them, or they kill you!"
  183. [21:30] GM [The Glassman is a stone's throw away now, and shows no sign of changing course.]
  184. [21:31] Tiara h-how!?
  185. [21:31] WhateverItIs is shaking its head, trying to put the thoughts in its head into words.
  186. [21:32] WhateverItIs "You, you just... DO, and then you can. I, I can't, but YOU can!"
  187. [21:34] WhateverItIs "I thought... Don't you know how to believe?"
  188. [21:35] Tiara , ironically, is the one that lose faith in humanity. Ths question strikes her as logically correct to say 'no'.
  189. [21:35] [9]Ashley eyes light up.
  190. [21:35] [9]Ashley "So... if I believe I can fight the monsters, I can?"
  191. [21:36] WhateverItIs looks at Ashley. She is the nice one who doesn't shout and has caramels!
  192. [21:36] WhateverItIs "I... I think, yes. That's what you have to do!"
  193. [21:37] [9]Ashley looks at Fluffy and then at the Glassman. She thinks it over for a moment, then...
  194. [21:37] GM [The Glassman is almost upon them and looks ready to make a swing at someone. Getting out of the way might be smart now!]
  195. [21:38] Miaka Kya-!
  196. [21:38] Miaka just narrowly manages to avoid being swiped at by the glassman. She's sent falling on her bum, hard, and her backpack goes flying open, spilling its contents over the street.
  197. [21:40] Tiara curls into a ball, cowering in fear!
  198. [21:41] [9]Ashley tries jumping at the glassman, with no regard for her own well being! She lunges out with one arm in a stabbing motion, aiming for the Glassman's chest.
  199. [21:45] GM [It is a futile maneuver that for all logical purposes will end in Ashley's death.]
  200. [21:45] GM [WHEN SUDDENLY...!]
  201. [21:46] [9]Ashley 's pyjamas burst into light, transforming into a light set of plated armor! An open helmet forms around her face, and her hair forms into a ponytail flowing out of the back of the helm. The skirt of her armor flaps about as she lunges at the monster, now with a light spear instead of a closed hand.
  202. [21:48] Dizzy , close enough to see what's going on, rushes to where the creature is to get a better view. What the hell...?
  203. [21:48] GM [The Glassman suddenly finds a hefty hole in its non-specific torso! The area around the hole is spiderwebbed with cracks but does not break. It staggers backwards!]
  204. [21:48] Tiara wha...?
  205. [21:49] Tiara peeks from her curled state. A maiden in armor to the rescue?
  206. [21:49] [9]Ashley lands, too caught up in her own survival to notice the sudden change in her appearance.
  207. [21:50] Miaka winces as she scrambles to stand up afterwards and cries out as something hard and pointy is under her hand. She pulls it away to reveal one of her Warhammer 40k figures that she had been keeping in her backpack. She stares at it for a moment, seemingly drawn in to the eyes of the Space Marine lying on the ground. A flash of light later, Miaka is replaced by a figure wearing a suit of dark red battle armor, with a large rifle strapped to
  208. [21:51] WhateverItIs has scampered away from the action, just as frightened as Tiara is.
  209. [21:59] Dizzy stands dumbfounded at the change undergone by the two.
  210. [22:02] Miaka pulls her rifle from her back as if by instinct and levels the barrel at the glassman before pulling the trigger.
  211. [22:07] GM [Still reeling from the sudden stab, the Glassman is introduced to some plasma bullets! Its once pristine visage is now cracked and melting.]
  212. [22:11] GM [The Glassman is not so tough as it once was! But it stomps forwards and prepares to take a stab at the defenseless Tiara!]
  213. [22:12] Tiara It's coming...?
  214. [22:12] [9]Ashley , still near the creature's feet, makes a wild swipe at its legs in an attempt to cripple it.
  215. [22:16] GM [It is indeed crippled! The bottom third of its legs are snapped clean off!]
  216. [22:19] Tiara got sprayed in the face by a small shard. The feeling is so real... this can't be a dream...!
  217. [22:23] GM [The Glassman is dropped closer to the ground, but the change in height means a better angle for counter-stabbing Ashley!]
  218. [22:25] Miaka in the meantime has picked herself up off the ground, rising to her full height of approximately 8 feet.
  219. [22:27] [9]Ashley notices the incoming stab and braces for impact, hoping for some way to survive.
  220. [22:27] Dizzy rubs her eyes. What happened before was weird, but this...
  221. [22:28] [9]Ashley magics up a glowy shield! It stands against the creature's attack, then vanishes the second it relents.
  222. [22:35] Miaka rushes forward toward the glassman, intending to ruin its day by kicking it square in the middle of its chest with her powered armored boot.
  223. [22:37] Tiara discreetly pumps her fist while saying "You go, girl!" in her mind.
  224. [22:37] GM [Not even a contest. The kick shatters the torso and sends the other appendages crashing to the ground harmlessly. It looks like nothing more than a pile of broken plate-glass windows now.]
  225. [22:38] [9]Ashley runs out of the way of the wreckage.
  226. [22:39] Miaka looms over the pile of glass under her boot as she lowers her rifle at its remains.
  227. [22:39] Miaka -Purge the xenos-
  228. [22:39] Miaka discharges a few more shots for good measure.
  229. [22:40] [9]Ashley watches Miaka unload and wipes her forehead.
  230. [22:41] WhateverItIs continues to hear shooting and keeps hidden under a somewhat distant bush, though its not hard to find owing to the aura of normalcy around it.
  231. [22:43] Tiara ...
  232. [22:43] Tiara wonder if it's over yet.
  233. [22:44] [9]Ashley walks over to Miaka while watching the glass shards. Doesn't seem like they're going anywhere now.
  234. [22:45] Dizzy "...Ah."
  235. [22:46] Miaka turns back towards the others. She has a much better view now.
  236. [22:46] Miaka has to look downwards to see them, actually.
  237. [22:46] Miaka That...
  238. [22:46] Miaka was...
  239. [22:46] Miaka SO COOL~!
  240. [22:47] Tiara runs over to Miaka.
  241. [22:47] [9]Ashley is speechless. Her only expression of triumph is spinning her arm once and holding it up, palm open.
  242. [22:48] Tiara ...and crash into her in a semi-hugging-semi-tackling manner.
  243. [22:48] Miaka stands quite firm, reaching down and patting Tiara's back reassuringly.
  244. [22:48] Tiara Are you hurt...? Are you hurt...? Please say no... please...!
  245. [22:48] Miaka Relax, Tiara! I'm fine!
  246. [22:48] [9]Ashley , seeing the girl crash, bring her palm to her face instead.
  247. [22:49] WhateverItIs crawls out from under the bush and looks around, but still keeps its distance.
  248. [22:54] Dizzy goes over to where the others are, but can't think of anything to say.
  249. [22:58] Tiara separates.
  250. [22:58] WhateverItIs follows Dizzy over to the girls. As the aura of normalcy nears the two combatants, they slowly return to their normal clothes.
  251. [22:58] Tiara can think of many questions, but she doesn't like to ask it. Because doing so would start conversation, and that's no good.
  252. [22:59] WhateverItIs only watches for the moment, taking all this weirdness in.
  253. [23:00] [9]Ashley looks at her pyjamas and feels down.
  254. [23:05] Miaka suddenly finds herself much smaller and less heavily armed
  255. [23:05] Miaka ...aww.
  256. [23:06] [9]Ashley looks at the wreckage for a second, then her eyes light up.
  257. [23:06] [9]Ashley "Ah! The kitty!"
  258. [23:07] [9]Ashley runs off to look for the cat.
