- Follow the steps on p. 83-85 to get ideas and make an outline, then write your paragraph.

- Step 0: Pick one thing you know how to do well. This will be your topic this week.
- Step 1: Take a few minutes to write down everything you need to do in order to accomplish that goal.
- (Donβt worry about the order or importance, just write down everything to start with.)
- Step 2: Edit your list by crossing out less important steps and putting the other steps in order
- Step 3: Organize your list into an outline (with the steps in the correct order) and add a topic sentence and a conclusion sentence.
- Finally: Use your outline to write a first draft of your how-to paragraph. Use time or list order transition signals to introduce the most important steps. You can also add sentences to give more details to confusing steps, and a sentence or two of introduction (before the topic sentence) to explain why someone might want to have this skill.
