  3. The life-size Sonic statue in Tokyo Joypolis will occasionally speak lines recorded by Kanemaru Junichi. Some of them are involuntary, while most of the other lines can be heard by pressing the red button at the base of the statue. The blog post above me lists out most of the possible lines, as well as a YouTube video of the statue. Sonic also has specific lines for when you shake him or something similar, but they're generally of the "hey, stop that!" or "if you touch a hedgehog, you'll get hurt!" variety. I know because I saw a video on Twitter of someone doing just that. Bless them.

  5.
  6. I see quite a lot of people here, but you seem a bit different.
  7.
  8. Hey everyone, how do you do? Wanna take a picture with me?
  9.
  10. Excuse me? You over there. I think you dropped a purse? No, it's not you.
  11.
  12. Hi, I'm Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog. Where did you all come from?
  13.
  14. Welcome to Sonic Carnival! Enjoy your stay.
  15.
  16. Don't look at me like that. I may not look it, but I'm pretty embarrassed, you know.
  17.
  18. Hey! I'm Sonic! I'm happy to see you!
  19.
  20. Hey everyone, welcome to Tokyo Joypolis.
  21.
  22. *sneezes*
  23.
  24. Yo, are you guys doing good over there?
  25.
  26. See you! Let's meet again!
  27.
  28. Hey guy! Thanks for coming! I'm glad you're here!
  29.
  30. Hey, are you curious about the red button below me? ...Wanna give it a press?
  31.
  32.
  33. Here's the lines he can say upon pressing the button. He will mostly talk about the attractions:
  34.
  35.
  36. Looks like it's already the rainy season. Even I get quiet on rainy days. I start reading books. For example, "Arabian Nights" or "King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table"... or other stuff!
  37.
  38. Do you know how many game titles I appear in? It's actually more than 50 titles.
  39.
  40. Guys. You're probably thinking that I stand here all the time, aren't you? Actually, while no one is looking, I go check out various places for a moment. After all, I'm a speed-of-sound hedgehog! I also happened to deliver a dropped purse some time ago.
  41.
  42. Did you check out "Let's Go Jungle!"? If you let your guard down from the resort-like atmosphere... Whoops! You should check the rest on your own. A frightening experience is waiting for you all.
  43.
  44. Have you already played Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing? Looks like you can only play this game in Tokyo Joypolis in Japan. See if you're up to the challenge.
  45.
  46. Have you already tried out Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing? It's a race game and I appear in it, obviously, along with Tails and Eggman. When you get in my car, make sure to reach the finish line on top!
  47.
  48. In Sonic 4 Episode II, which you can play on a smartphone and such, I'm on an adventure along with my reliable partner Tails. Cooperative play can be done with two friends, so you gotta try it out.
  49.
  50. Have you already played Sonic 4 Episode II, which you can play on a smartphone and such? Enjoy my brand new adventure.
  51.
  52. I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. I run with all my might and travel all over the world, flying and jumping! And I defeat bad guys while I'm at it! I'm an adventure-loving blue hedgehog! See ya!
  53.
  54. There's currently a rally in Joypolis. Make sure to participate!
  55.
  56. I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. An adventure-loving blue hedgehog that runs at the speed of sound! Nice to meet you!
  57.
  58. Have you seen the stage events? There's always various events in Joypolis, so make sure to check them out.
  59.
  60. Have you played a puzzle game called Puyo Puyo? The rules are very easy and everyone can pick up and play it, but it's quite deep if you do try it out. Let's have a match with me someday.
  61.
  62. There's lots of pleasant attractions, you know? Enjoy, everyone.
  63.
  64. I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. A "hedgehog" is a spiky mammal. If you touch the spikes you'll get hurt, so watch out.
  65.
  66. If you want to know more about me, check out the Internet portal SONIC CHANNEL. It's got introductions to my friends and character goods, as well as game info.
  67.
  68. I hate to say it about myself, but this is a life-sized Sonic the Hedgehog. Was it bigger than you expected? Or was it smaller?
  69.
  70. Have you tried out UFO Catcher? You won't get over the moment you get a cool prize with just your skills! Make sure to check it out. Looks like Joypolis's staff will cooperate as well.
  71.
  72. Have you already tried eating Tokyo Joypolis's specialty, the Dippin' Dots ice cream? It's colorful, lumpy, and delicious.
  73.
  74. My running speed is just about the speed of sound. I wonder if I can run even faster if I give it my all. By the way, do you know how fast the speed of sound is? Fast enough for me to go around Odaiba as I'm saying this!
  75.
  76. Do you know about the Joypoli Exploration Team attraction? It's a bit of an unusual attraction where you literally explore Joypolis. It's got unexpected discoveries, and you'll be able to get a little taste of how adventure feels.
  77.
  78. If you want to take a break, I recommend D-Lounge. You can enjoy light meals and drinks. It's also got chili dogs, my favorite food.
  79.
  80. Boo!! Hahah! Sorry! Did I startle you?
  81.
  82. I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. My favorite food is chili dogs! Huh? You don't know what that is? Once you find it, try it out.
  83.
  84. Have you already ridden the thrill-filled Half-Pipe Tokyo? Even the BGM is brimming with COOL. I wonder if it will use songs from the games I show up in?
  85.
  86. The word "cool" usually means "refreshing", but it also means "more attractive than others". This Tokyo Joypolis is pretty cool, huh?
  87.
  88. Those who would like to take a souvenir photograph, please speak to Joypolis's staff. They will happily help you out.
