  1. Many responses were ignored due to being concerned with events that could be clarified in the 'detailed plot' and 'characterization' stages of surveying.
  2.
  3. Question 2: "Should the locations where the evil team Admins, leader and northngton show up be decided by the detailed plot?"
  4. Majority vote: Yes
  5. Concerns: used odd phrasing which resulted in mixed concerns, primary of which was confusion over whether the 'detailed plot' would be allowed to override decisions made in the plot outline. Some anon's were under the impression that an admin encounter confirmed in the 'plot outline' could be removed/changed during the detailed plot stage.
  6. Meanwhile the supposed intent of the question was to ask whether evil team encounters not present in the plot outline could be added during the detailed plot stage or whether we should mandate that only those evil team encounters present in the plot outline be included in the detailed plot (or that they be submitted after the detailed plot is confirmed during the 'side quest submission stage')
  7.
  8. Question 3: "Should Northington's tablet be removed from the plot"
  9. Majority Vote: Yes
  10. Concerns: Although the majority voted to remove the tablet, many wanted clarification on why Northington/the Evil team had to steal the tablet rather than simply study it at the museum. (this of course would have been clarified in the 'detailed plot' stage and is thus a frivolous concern)
  11.
  12. Question 4: "Should Northington's first introduction not be the same time he joins the Evil Team?"
  13. Majority vote: Yes
  14. Concerns: Many responders appear to be of the opinion that 'if Northington has to be introduced before his involvement in the evil team is know', then 'his introduction should be important enough to be memorable to the player'.
  15. other questions brought up were "should Norty's involvement in the ET simply be unknown to the player, or should he literally be recruited to the ET during the course of the game?"
  16.
  17. Question 5: "Should Northington's objections to the oilspill be removed from the plot outline?"
  18. Majority vote: Yes
  19. Concerns: many anons appear to be wondering "Does Northington making a clear on screen morals call conflict with his characterization of having ambiguous morals?" and "Does having ambiguous morals mean the same thing as having unspecified morals?"
  20.
  21. Question 6: "Should the Big Bad be someone other than the Evil Team Leader, or should the Big Bad Leader's involvement be changed?"
  22. Majority vote: Yes (by a 3% margin)
  23. Concerns: Anons who want Northington to be the actual big bad also want the ET leader to appear to be the big bad until Northington takes the place of power later in the game.
  24.
  25. Question 7: "Should the Evil Team’s HQ be added to the plot?"
  26. Majority vote: Yes
  27. Concerns: Suggestions for ET HQ locations included but were not limited to 'Literally every game location imaginable'. the main consern at this point is "Should the ET have one major HQ that they use throughout the game, or should they have various smaller HQ's throughout the region?"
  28.
  29. Question 8: "Should Mangrove and/or Sequoia be more involved in the plot?"
  30. Majority vote: Yes
  31. Concerns: general opinion was that Mangrove should be involved more, if only to highlight his rivalry with Northington, which begs the question "Does Northington being characterized as having animosity towards Mangrove mean that Mangrove must actively participate in a persistent on screen rivalry with Northington?"
  32.
  33. Question 9: "Should the Calando Village’s Chief actually be the Jungle Shaman Gym Leader?"
  34. Majority Vote: Yes
  35.
  36. Question 10: "Should the Evil Team be after the Spirit Cores rather than the whole Spirits?"
  37. Majority vote: Yes
  38. Concerns: If the ET is only after the cores, do they still need to capture the Spirits first?
  39.
  40. Question 11: "Should the Golems be added to the plot?"
  41. Majority vote: Yes
  42. Concerns: main questions raised were "Should the golem's be powered by spirit cores?" and "should the admin's control the Golems?"
  43.
  44. Question 12: "Should what the plot outline currently says about luring/distracting the Spirits be changed or removed?"
  45. Majority vote: No
  46. Concerns: the specifics of how the spirits are lured (oilspil/forest fire/etc.) might be too specific for a plot outline and thus should be allowed to be changed in the 'detailed plot' phase.
  47.
  48. Question 13: "Should what happens each time the player comes across a Spirit be changed?"
  49. Majority Vote: Yes
  50. Concerns: First, ambiguous wording of the question and answers implies that the events for coming across each spirt MUST be different from each other, but there's no measure set for what 'different' means. At any rate the event's need to be changed from what occurs in plot. Suggested changes are to make the spirit encounters more on screen rather than having the player show up just as the spirit is captured.
  51. arguably there really shouldn't be that much difference between how each spirt is captured since they are a trio.
  52.
  53. Question 14: "Should the thing Quetzar has control over be changed/clarified?"
  54. Majority Vote: Yes
  55. Concerns: I don't know that we should be allowing mon lore to be re-voted at this point, at any rate, most anons just wanted Quetzar's powers to be clarified which is more of a 'detailed plot' concern than a 'plot outline' one.
  56. a lot of people discussed different interpretations of knowledge/inspiration/invention/innovation, but they're arguably all different words for the same thing...
  57.
  58. Question 15) "Should what is meant by "Quetzar's control over something" be changed?"
  59. Majority Vote: Yes
  60. Concerns: see question 14
  61.
  62. Question 16) "Should the location of the City of Gold be fixed?"
  63. Majority Vote: Yes (Deep Jungle)
  64.
  65. Question 17) "Which way round should the Oil Rig and Ossia Temple events be?"
  66. Majority vote: Oil Rig before Ossia Temple
  67. Concerns: We may need more specifics as to how each of these events play out before saying for sure which order they should occur in. Also, depending on where the ET headquarters ends up we might chose to replace one of the two events with a HQ event instead.
  68.
  69. Question 18) "Which way round should Staccato Gym and the Desert event be?"
  70. Majority Vote: Desert event before Staccato Gym
  71. Concerns: We still don't know whether or not Staccato town should be accessible before the desert or vice versa. Also this series of events depends on when the player gains access to the Surf HM.
  72. Also the choice should be considered for having both events occur interchangeably.
  73.
  74. Question 19) "Which way round should Calando Gym and the City of Gold climax be?"
  75. Majority Vote: Calando Gym before Gold City
  76. Concerns: It depends on how immediate the threat of the evil team appears to the player, if the player thinks that he needs to hurry to stop the ET then stopping to face another gym would be ridiculous.
  77.
  78. Question 20) "Should an event be added to the Observatory the first time the player passes through the area? This would be the first plot event in the game (excluding rival/Ricardo stuff)"
  79. Majority Vote: Yes
  80. Concerns: Possibly the museum theft could be replaced with an event at the Observatory. Many anons want the ET and likely Northington to be involved/introduced in the event. This question is worded very poorly and biasedly. The question is asking if an event should be added to the observatory the first time the player passes through, but the options just ask if an event should be added to tbe observatory at all.
  81.
  82. Question 21: "Should the player encounter the museum thieves before Dronia rather than in Dronia?"
  83. Majority Vote: No
  84. Concerns: suggestions include swapping the museum location with the observatory possibly making it into an abandoned/closed down museum (explaining the ET's need to break in to steal the tablet), or to replace the museum in Dronia with some sort of city hall location that would have a function other than just a museum.
  85.
  86. Question 22) "Should the item(s) stolen in Dronia be taken from somewhere other than a museum?"
  87. Majority Vote: Yes
  88. Concerns: Main argument is that having a museum in an industrial city at all is a terrible idea and that the items should be stored in a city hall/gym/other location instead.
  89.
  90. Question 23) Should the Dronia museum's special exhibit on Quetzar and City of Gold be removed?"
  91. Majority Vote: Yes
  92. Concerns: Chief Concerns are that a museum exhibit about such a plot relevant event so early in the game could be a terrible spoiler. The question may have been worded improperly, there is no reason to assume that the exhibit including Quetzar/Gold city related relics means that the museum owners would have any understanding of the relics or that the relics would reveal any plot spoiling information. The Museum could arguably have a Quetzar statue on display with the caption 'very little is know about this odd serpent shaped relic' or something.
  93.
  94. Question 24: "Should the Admin in the Dronia museum theft event be removed from that event?"
  95. Majority vote: Yes
  96. Concerns: Some anons didn't want the admins to show up based on the assumption that the museum theft would be the first introduction of the Evil Team so depending on the decisions made with the observatory their opinions might change. Also, whether or not an Admin would be present at the theft might depend heavily on the admin's characterizations.
  97.
  98. Question 25: "Should another event be added in or around Dronia, after the museum theft?"
  99. Majority Vote: Yes
  100. Concerns: Most voters would have the event involve Stella or the Scrap Yard in some way.
  101.
  102. Question 26: "Should the reason why Sequoia/Mangrove are looking to contact Northington in Andante be removed?"
  103. Majority vote: Yes
  104. Concerns: majority opinion is that the reasoning can be clarified in the 'detailed plot' stage rather than the outline stage.
  105.
  106. Question 27: "Should Northington be found in Andante somewhere other than in a lab?"
  107. Majority Vote: Yes (move lab somewhere else)
  108. Concerns: The question was poorly worded, it implied that Northington couldn't be found at a location other than his lab, but still have a lab in Andante. It also implied that Northington MUST have a lab and couldn't have something like an office or small apartment instead.
  109.
  110. Question 28: "Should Northington's visitor be someone other than an Admin (who is clearly someone who belongs to the Evil Team)?"
  111. Majority Vote: Yes
  112. Concerns: The question was poorly worded, it implies that Northington's visitor can't be an Admin and also not clearly be a member of the evil team. That being said, the majority seemed to want the Evil Team leader to be the visitor.
  113.
  114. Question 29: "Should the exact happenings in the Northington event in Andante be changed?"
  115. Majority Vote: Yes
  116. Concerns: In order to maintain the visitors ambiguity it would be necessary to not have any evil team battling go on at this point. If a fight does occur then the main suggestion is that the player be forced to fight mooks to keep the player busy while the Visitor and Northington talk
  117.
  118. Question 30: "Should Northington's cooperation with the Evil Team be more ambiguous?"
  119. Majority vote: No (Northington's cooperation should be clear)
  120. Concerns: the only options for voting were "equally ambiguous" and "less ambiguous", there should have been an option for "more ambiguous" imo. At any rate, most opinions are that 'if the identity of the visitor is to remain a mystery', then 'Northington's involvement with the ET should also remain a mystery.'
  121.
  122. Question 31: "Should a new plot event be added to Vivace?"
  123. Majority Vote: Yes
  124. Concerns: Many voters want some interaction with the Evil team, and possibly being introduced to either an admin or the ET Leader.
  125.
  126. Question 32: "Should the exact location(s) where the Desert event takes place be changed?"
  127. Majority Vote: Yes
  128. Concerns: Most voters would prefer the event take place in the Desert Cave somehow.
  129.
  130. Question 33: "Should the plot outline describe how the Evil Team lures Machima out?"
  131. Majority Vote: Yes
  132. Concerns: Most are of the opinion that if the method of luring Machima is expounded upon then it should somehow relate to where Machima is captured, and the element that Machima presides over.
  133.
  134. Question 34: "Should Northington being in the Desert event be a secret until the end of it?"
  135. Majority Vote: Yes
  136. Concerns: options should have been allowed for people who wanted to vote for Northington to show up at times other than the end.
  137. Some anons dislike the entire concept of Northington being kidnapped
  138.
  139. Question 35: "At the end of the Desert event, should the Evil Team only mention one place they're going next?"
  140. Majority Vote: Yes
  141. Concerns: there should have been an option for the Evil Team to say nothing, as well as an option for the Evil team to reveal more than 2 parts of their plan.
  142.
  143. Question 36: "Should a plot event be added to
  144. Shattercloud Spire after the Desert event?"
  145. Majority Vote: No
  146. Concerns: It should be made clear that Events can occur there, just not plot relevant ones.
  147.
  148. Question 37: "Should a plot event be added to the Observatory after the Desert event?"
  149. Majority Vote: No
  150. Concerns: Why can an Observatory event only be added now? Why not sooner when the player is actually closer to the Observatory?
  151.
  152. Question 38: "Should the person who lets the player into Ossia Temple be someone other than a random temple worker?"
  153. Majority Vote: Yes
  154. Concerns: Most popular suggestions are the Fire gym leader, Sequoia, or the alt gender protag.
  155.
  156. Question 39: "Should the Oil Rig be moved somewhere else?"
  157. Majority Vote: Yes
  158. Concerns: Top suggestions are "Somewhere out in the ocean", "Likely on or leading off of Rt13", and "Possibly only accessible by boat/sub"
  159.
  160. Question 40: "Should the exact location of the Safari Zone event (getting Patama) be moved elsewhere, even a little?"
  161. Majority Vote: Yes
  162. Concerns: Most commenter’s want the event moved out of the safari zone, Preferred alternatives are to move the event just outside the zone, to Deep Jungle, or the Jungle Temple."
  163.
  164. Question 41: "Should Patama not mind control other Pokémon to help with the fire?"
  165. Majority Vote: Yes (patama shouldn't have mind control)
  166. Concerns: Most voters think she should simply summon the pokemon for help, but not directly control them.
  167.
  168. Question 42: "Should Northington direct the player towards Calando rather than where the City of Gold is, or should this dialogue be removed completely from the plot outline?"
  169. Majority Vote: Yes (the dialogue should be removed or changed)
  170. Concerns: Dialogue should be saved for the 'detailed plot' stage, some anons are concerned about the dialogue being too blatant.
  171.
  172. Question 43: "Should a new plot event be added between the Safari Zone event and going to Calando?"
  173. Majority Vote: Yes
  174. Concerns: general responses tended to agree that an event would be cool, possibly one involving a necropolis, but that the event shouldn't necessarily be plot relevant.
  175.
  176. Question 44: "Should the City of Gold need to be magically revealed/unlocked, rather than just finding and going there?"
  177. Majority Vote: Yes
  178.
  179. Question 45: "Should Northington attempt to take over proceedings or stop the Evil Team Leader in the City of Gold?"
  180. Majority Vote: Yes
  181. Concerns: General opinion is that now that the Gold city/Quetzar has been found, Northington doesn't need the ET Leaders help anymore. Some Suggest that Northington wait until the ET Leader is taken out (by the player or Quetzar or other) before taking control easily.
  182.
  183. Question 46: "Should Northington be the one who awakens Quetzar?"
  184. Majority Vote: Yes
  185. Concerns: Options for a third person other than Northington and the Evil Team leader to awaken Quetzar should have been allowed, for example simply the disturbance caused by the Gold City being revealed could have been enough to awaken Quetzar.
  186.
  187. Question 47: "Should Northington sic Quetzar on the player/Evil Team?"
  188. Majority Vote: No
  189. Concerns: the wording of the answer options was ambiguous, it implied that the options of 'Northington trying to talk Quetzar into attacking and failing' and 'Quetzar deciding to attack the evil team without prompting' weren't possible.
  190.
  191. Question 48: "Should Northington and Quetzar team up to oppose the player?"
  192. Majority vote: No
  193. Concerns: The answer options left no possibility for Quetzar to team up with anyone other than Northington.
  194.
  195. Question 49: "Should Quetzar cause carnage once it wakes up?"
  196. Majority Vote: Yes
  197. Concerns: The majority were in favor of quetzar causing some destruction, but that he shouldn't cause any deaths.
  198.
  199. Question 50: "Should Quetzar be battled before it flies away?"
  200. Majority Vote: Yes
  201. Concerns: general opinion is that it should be fought once in each of its forms.
  202.
  203. Question 51: "Should Quetzar should be uncatchable in its first battle?"
  204. Majority Vote: Yes
  205.
  206. Question 52: "Should the plot outline be ambiguous about what happens to the bad guys in the end?"
  207. Majority Vote: Yes
  208. Concerns: Some voters want the possibility of the Evil Team surviving until the post game.
  209.
  210. Question 53: "Should the Big Bad (currently the Evil Team Leader) get killed off in the end?"
  211. Majority Vote: No
  212. Concerns: Most voters don't feel 'killing' belongs in a pokemon game but would humor the possibility as long as the Leader's characterization warranted it. Other suggestions are that the Evil Team leader be 'disappeared' through other means than killing.
  213.
  214. Question 54: "Should Shattercloud Spire be made a proper part of the climax, or be removed entirely from the main plot?"
  215. Majority Vote: Yes
  216.
  217. Question 55: "Should Quetzar's exit from the City of Gold to elsewhere be changed?"
  218. Majority Vote: Yes
  219. Concerns: Many voters prefer Quetzar remain somewhere close to gold city rather than flying all the way across the map to shattercloud spire.
  220.
  221. Question 56: "Should the Quetzar finale require that the player hand over the Orbs to Quetzar?"
  222. Majority Vote: Yes
  223. Concerns: the answer options didn't allow for different reasons for which the orbs should be given to Quetzar.
