- At the bottom of the rectangular emblem are the words, ``Atlanta 1996.''
- ACOG chief Billy Payne said the new trademark symbolizes the centennial of the modern Olympics and the city's vitality.
- Banners bearing the new logo were set up at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, City Hall, Underground Atlanta as well as on utility poles on streets throughout the city on Thursday.
- Designed by San Francisco-based Landor Associates, the logo will make its international debut during the closing ceremonies of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.
- It replaces the five-A's logo, which was used during the city's three-year bid to host the 1996 Olympics.
