- "Hello, my name is Sunset Shimmer," you say with a cheerful smile as your enter the room, "How can I help?"
- >"Wait, the nurse is a pony?"
- "A unicorn to be more precise. Now how can I help?"
- >Instead of the patient moving on from the topic they insist on pestering you, asking the same questions as the other thousands of patients before this one asks.
- >All the regulars have stopped after the first time but the new ones always do this.
- >"How can a unicorn be a nurse?"
- >"Where'd you come from?"
- >"How did you get here?"
- >"Are there any human nurses around?"
- >"Can you do magic?"
- >And to be polite, you answer a few to sate their curiosity before helping them with the reason why they are here.
- >Usually it's a blood test or a shot. Sometimes you'll do stitches or a scan of some kind but usually it's needle related.
- >You hand in the papers for the elderly woman you just saw to go with her blood test.
- >"Here you go Sunset," calls out a doctor as he holds out a form, "the lad in there needs this. Thanks."
- >Just as quickly as he's arrived, he's gone. No surprise, everything is always the same.
- >You look over the forms and check the details of who you're about to see.
- >Anon Ymous, 21, male.
- >Weird name but looks like he's new to the clinic, which means more questions.
- >You give a soft, sarcastic cheer as you head to the room where Anon is waiting.
- >When you walk in, he's sitting up on the bed and kicking his legs like some bored child.
- >He gives you a warm smile as you walk over.
- "Hello, my name is Sunset Shimmer. Before you ask, Yes I'm a unicorn, I'm clearly not from this world and I'm also a fully qualified nurse. Any other questions?"
- >Your tone is a little dry and irritated but you're just too tired to be answering questions.
- >"Wait, so, they let unqualified nurse ponies in here?" He asks plainly.
- >You do a double take.
- "What?"
- >"Well, you told me you're a fully qualified nurse, so I was curious if they let the unqualified ones and to you had to reassure me."
- "Uh..."
- >You stand in daze as you process his joke, his response completely through you off and you were expecting the same old questions.
- >"Although, I do have a question but I'll save it for after you've violently stabbed and drugged me," he says with a sly smile.
- >A small giggle escapes your lips as you get the needle.
- >"My name is Anon."
- "I know, it's on the form."
- >"I figured but my parents taught me it's polite to introduce yourself to a pretty girl."
- >It's impossible for you to stop your face from turning a shade of red that's brighter that the red in your hair so you quickly flip your fringe so cover your face.
- >Anon rolls up a sleeve so you can inject him with it.
- >"Uh, you know, let's pretend I'm not too good with needles and you countdown until the stabbing."
- "Talking works better, why don't you ask me that question to take your mind off it?"
- >Your heart skips a beat for a short moment as your heart raises your hopes.
- >He's kind of cute, funny and you think he's interested, or at least, you're hoping he is.
- >"Is that your natural colour?"
- >You push the needle down and as it pierces the skin, you push the plunger and inject Anon.
- "Yes."
- >"Cool, cool," he mutters as he rubs his arm and your heart sinks.
- >You place a cotton ball to absorb the blood and tape it down.
- >"Uh, is it alright if I ask another question?"
- "You just did."
- >"Heh, true. I was wondering if you'd like to go to dinner with me tonight? O-Or another night if you're busy."
- >It's lucky you were facing away from him because you couldn't hold back the goofy smile on your face the moment he ask.
- >You quickly jot down your address and number before taking a few breaths to calm down and turn towards Anon."Here's my number and address. I'll be ready at 8 tonight."
- "Thanks," he says as he takes the paper and leaves.
- >When the door closes, you give an excited laugh and jump a few times until the door opens and Anon is there.
- >You immediately stop, clear your throat and try play it off while hoping he didn't see.
- >"I, uh, forgot the form for the doctor," he says nervously.
- >You use your magic to hand him the paper and your heart sinks."He saw, and he probably isn't going to call or show up now," you think to yourself.
- >"See you tonight," he quickly comments before leaving.
- >Again, you laugh and dance excitedly.
- ---7:49pm---
- >You're staring into the mirror at your dress, unsure if it's appropriate.
- >When Anon finally texted you, you asked where you'd be going.
- >All he said was, "Somewhere nice. I think you'd look cute in a dress."
- >With such a vague answer, you're not sure how to dress.
- >Currently, you're wearing a ribbed, fire red dress and your hair is straightened to flow to your left shoulder then curl.
- >You look yourself over once more and decide it doesn't work. It looks like you're going to go to a cocktail lounge. "Honestly, who takes someone to a cocktail lounge on a first date? Nobody," you say aloud to yourself.
- >Just as you're about to change, there's a knock at the door."7:58pm. Where did the time go? Damn it, I'm not ready."
- >You begin to hesitate, unsure of what to do but the second knock decides for you.
- >You open the door to Anon who is standing there in a clean, sleek black suit with a purple vest and tie.
- >As you look over his outfit you realise you're not dressed formal enough, your heart sinks and lets doubt in.
- >"Oh, hey, wow."
- "I-I need to change, one moment."
- >"Why, you look perfect," he says in a daze.
- "Alright, he's smooth, " you think to yourself as your heart flutters.
- >"Are you ready?"
