"Or so we were told." This line seamed to come out of the mouths of a lot of officials involved in the Fluffy Pony Incident. After reading that ad, everyone who didnt already want one, now wanted one. Political leaders praised Hasbro Bio, later renamed Hasbio, for their innovation in solving all the problems with current pets and even pushed legislation to offer them up as tax deductible. After a few months of 100% positive reaction from their unveiling of the "first" living Fluffy to show the world they were real, that is when PETA and other similar groups got involved. Cases of how to classify them, their rights and food regulations all went to the supreme court. With an 8-1 ruling they were classified as biological toys, minimal regulations on food production, and their "rights" were that of property.
Unsatisfied with the rulings PETA launched another smear and shock&awe campaign. Protesters gathered around political leaders offices and anywhere to get TV time pleading and demanding rights for these animals. With little success they hatched a devious plan.
Free the Fluffy Ponies from the labs, so the world can see them as animals to overturn the laws before launch day.
After the incident, the "Official" response and news story told was some activists broke in and killed the batches of Fluffy Pony. While no motive was ever released, several were thrown around, one even it was done by Hasbio themselves to drive prices up. A notepad was later found off a corpse, turned out to be a person who took part in the event. Their version as follows:
Writing this note to be found by our successors in-case of directive failure. Our mission:Free the Fluffy Ponies. We will show the world they are loving animals deserving of rights, not toys, shitbags, or property. There is fifteen of us involved in breaching security, breaking the lovable animals free, and dealing with any personnel on the premises.
MISSION SUCCESS! There was almost no security in the labs. The Fluffies were all in cages just like we were told. Mean old Hasbio treating them horribly. Probably starving them to save a penny... They are so cute beyond anything I imagined. Sad that we had to just release so many onto the streets. But people will get the message. I took one home. I could not separate myself from it they are SOOOO CUTE!
I think mine is a reject though... shotty Hasbio not even doing quality checking when dealing with LIVING ANIMALS... I will bring a court case tomorrow about their quality control. This one cant seam to stop pooping on my rugs, overall its mind is pretty simple so it requires constant care, but tomorrow the world will see...

Apparently the body was found first week of November. A day after the case was filed. Pending litigation was won by Hasbio via case dismissal. This made big news but was largely ignored as more propaganda by PETA/Hasbio instead of actual evidence. As for the real events post Operation Freedom, well... thats a different story.
The next morning there was 16 accidents involving people swerving to avoid, or hitting Fluffy ponies in the streets. Several resulted in fatality. Over 100 fluffy corpses were found, Fluffy Ponies had died from seemingly improbable ways. Countless more were found in parts, eaten by stray cats, birds, and on the outskirts of town by larger game in the nearby forest. The initial response was absolute chaos, but this paled in comparison to the long term effects.
Many were taken by people "adopted" if you will for free. Many stayed on the streets, but instead of seeing the numbers dwindle, they seamed to increase.  Shelters took them in at first, but it disrupted everything. They shit everywhere, on everything. The other animals would kill them accidently. Even before the official release on December first, people were canceling orders as the world found out they were accident prone, and stupid. In making them weak, that made everything weak, including such things as their bowels. They shit and piss at random, being excited, if they are squeezed as all, including just picking them up. They ate everything they can get their mouths on, including grass... grazing entire lawns, and the park to the dirt in spots, before moving a foot or so, and eating that to the dirt. The endless supply of food meant endless supply of shit. A city wide health warning was issued. Being weak meant the feral population had no way of protecting themselves. Corpses turned up everyday, for a variety of reasons. Cars, mischievousness teens, starvation, unknown reasons assumed health and diseases, animals, fluffy pony fights, eating things such as metal, fall damage ect.  The excessive population lead to more human fatalities, but Hasbio had already launched in 16 countries. 16 Countries exposed to this.
Turns out the initial population PETA free'd were hyper-active breeding machines being used to make the fluffies for release day. They were altered to have the urge to fuck constantly being super hormonal. The population quickly exploded. Even the official release ones have this urge, even though some were fixed. Not sure if no quality control was done, or if the method used didnt work on many, leaving about 80% of the fluffies release/sold to be fertile and genetically enhanced to breed.
Wasnt long before Hasbio released a Version Two Fluffy Pony. Designed to be smarter stronger(for the bowels) ect ect. These were met with little success already being outlawed in many countries and several laws in the US against them. Most shelters refused them. Some cities even offered bounties for Fluffies.
One year later we are left with what seams like a plague. Even countries that banned them before ever receiving any ended up with smuggled ones creating problems there as well. Deaths from singles to even herds crossing streets, their filth in the cities causing disease, or their rotting carcasses they are nothing but problems resulting in the deaths of humans. People are encouraged to move to rural areas as Fluffies seam incapable of surviving... even their FAST breeding doesnt help there.
While Hasbio division is now closed, noone was ever held responsible. The scientists names were held secret to prevent harm to them, employees as well. PETA was never held criminally liable for what happened, but public opinion sometimes can be a worse fate. PETA ceases to exist anymore, 99% of their base left them which is all the proof I need to figure out that PETA really was behind it.

I often wonder, if PETA hadnt done it, would the sterilization have worked? Would humanity be safe from this plague? Or was it all inevitable... Instead I now look to the future. Will the coming apocalypse be from Fluffy Pony or will Humanity prevail?
