  8. <Calpurnia> Hey Baruch
  9. <Class> Hi baruch and Nyaa
  10. <Calpurnia> Question : what does the quality of the book do again?
  11. <Baruch> It's the number of exp you get per season for reading it
  12. <Baruch> level is how high you can bring an art or ability with it
  13. <Class> QL is what you get in Exp and lvl is the max you can gain
  14. <Nyaa> I want 99 QL
  15. <Class> lets wait till 13:15 if CJ not show up till then I will make Nuernberg

  22. <Nyaa> speaking of that, been planning to join the local pagan religion in the convenant
  23. <Calpurnia> Huh, well Calpurnia won't try to stop you, if you were converting to Christianity we might have problems
  24. <Nyaa> not likely for christianity
  25. <Nyaa> I do need a religion for first ordeal though
  26. <Baruch> Heh, criamon weirdness is fun
  27. <Calpurnia> "Christinians are hypocrits that think only of there religion, who kill others just because they think differently, start wars over the silly teachings, and has it's on flipping government." (Calpurnia's opinion)
  28. <Class> I think we have different Religons spread at the covenant. (OOC Dirk is Apollo worshiper)
  29. <Nyaa> but then imagine all the anti-calpurnia DIVINE POWER that I could net
  30. <Calpurnia> Well then you will have to first be a good christinian.
  31. <Nyaa> true, and that's a royal pain
  32. <Calpurnia> :D
  33. <Nyaa> lots of choice for pagan god, I probably will want to check out the party dancing people's god
  34. <Nyaa> whatever they are called
  35. <Nyaa> also learn dancing
  36. <Nyaa> whatever their dance is
  37. <Calpurnia> .... please no.... NOT AGAIN NAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  38. * Calpurnia twitching in the corner

  81. <Calpurnia> (holy shit we have vim and rego tactatus's, shame no pedro but this will do)
  82. <Class> (Dirk enter end of Autumn so no conflict from him so fare. and Class study his House Lore from the Book, something no other should do anyway ^^)
  83. <Class> (Dont forget the free points we haved so we have for all except Herbam I think)
  84. <CJ> OK we all ready to start?
  85. <Class> (+)
  86. <Baruch> y
  87. <Silas_> yep
  88. <Makara> y
  89. <Calpurnia> yeah
  90. <Class> (Baruch I have to do the calculations again so you have to wait for after the game for my reply)
  91. <CJ> Silas is at the door of the barn. He is talking to a young handsome monk. Amaranth is guarding the boat, with Gustbran. Everyone else has taken shelter for the night in the tithe barn at Bures close to the monastery, which is a actually a small cottage, though it does have the symbol of Saint Edmunds crown on the door
  92. <Baruch> (k)
  93. <CJ> The monk has just revealed he is in love with Anna, who is of course Edith's sister who worked here before apparently entering the nunnery at nearby Borley
  94. <Class> (Class is at the forest somewhere)
  95. <CJ> Class is watching from the woods
  96. <CJ> I thin Calpurnai is here, she came in teh boat for the ride
  97. <Corbenik> (Can Corbenik "report in?)
  98. <Makara> (I don't think she would want to go to church)
  99. <CJ> Ah did you bring Corbenik?
  100. <Corbenik> (Yeah Calpurnia is to busy reading to care)
  101. <CJ> OK< so who is in the barn? Just gibe me a yay or nay and we can start
  102. <Silas_> "yay
  103. <Baruch> Yay
  104. * Class is in the forest nearby
  105. <Corbenik> Nay (Ill be out side or something)
  106. <Class> Nay
  107. <Makara> yay
  108. <CJ> Corbenik is in the woods, near where Class is sitting in a tree
  109. <CJ> (Corbenik and Class can both see and hear what is going on from the woods)
  110.
  111. [Nyaa logged out and reconnected]
  112.
  113. <Corbenik> (well makara died, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww)
  114. <Makara> (nah, just accidently closed the window)
  115. <CJ> "I am Brother Gui. I am here trying to sort out the chapel for Archbishop Stephen Langton, but I fell in love with a servant, Anna, and woud have broken my vows"
  116. <CJ> "Now I need you to help me rescue her, and escape the Church!"
  117. <CJ> "She is a prisoner in Borley nunnery!"
  118. <CJ> And you reply...
  119. <Baruch> "Why was she a prisoner again, Gui?"
  120. <CJ> "She thought my advances and desire to leave the monastery wrong, and ran of an took vows as a nun!"
  121. <Baruch> "Ah, so she's not a prisoner in the technical sense, then?"
  122. <CJ> Now she has finished her novice year, and has been sword forever to remain in that living tomb. We must rescue her!
  123. <Silas_> "Would you be willing to leave the church behind and come with us? The other priests would not mind?"
  124. <CJ> Mother Superior Isobel runs a very harsh house, and she is trapped there
  125. <CJ> They are too busy with their plans for the chapel, and talking to the Archbishop Stephen Langton, the french priest.
  126. <Class> (btw CJ dont forget to anounce the Tribunal UK Convention in the Atlas Game Forum in the next days ^^)
  127. * Silas_ raises an eyebrow as he mentions french priest
  128. <CJ> They are more worried about the agents of King John, if he still lives, than me!
  129. <Baruch> "Why would they worry about the king's agents, again? You'll have to excuse us, we are foreign to this land."
  130. <Silas_> "But you will announce that you intend to leave?"
  131. <CJ> "there used to be a crown, buried somewhere near here, that belonged to some long ago King called Edmund. He was crowned here you see at Bures. His crown has been stolen, and now the Archbishop fears a curse. King JOhn has banished him to Paris - Stephen Langton is a close friend since childhood of the french king, and John calls him "that french priest" - but anyway Langton has us setting...
  132. <CJ> ...up the chapel here, and maintaining devotions to St. Edmund
  133. <CJ> Class, Corbenik, Perception + Alertness please
  134. <Corbenik> !roll 1d10+-1
  135. <Class> !roll 1d10+5 (+1 if Alertness)
  136. <Class> (no bot?)
  137. <Silas_> "He is right to fear a curse.."
  138. <Corbenik> ...
  139. <Silas_> sec
  140. <Makara> (edith is here too right?)
  141. <Silas_> (she is)
  142. <CJ> Edith is here
  143. <Silas_> !roll 1d10
  144. <Class> !roll 1d10+5 (+1 if Alertness and no penalty for night)
  145. <Silas_> flippin heck
  146. <Makara> oh
  147. <CJ> Shall I grab a dice?
  148. <Makara> I got it
  149. <Corbenik> !roll 1d10-1 (+1 if spotting)
  150. <CrownBot> Corbenik, (+1 if spotting): 8 :9-1
  151. <Silas_> (works for me)
  152. <Class> !roll 1d10+5 (+1 if Alertness and no penalty for night)
  153. <CrownBot> Class, (+1 if Alertness and no penalty for night): 8 :3+5
  154. <Silas_> "- but Gui, I wish to know, do you intend to inform your brothers at the church that you are leaving?"
  155. <CJ> Class you hear something in the woods, about three hundred yards away. Sounds like a human trying to be stealthy. Corbenix, you actually think you see movement in teh same direction
  156. <Corbenik> "Class... did you see that?"
  157. <CJ> Gui: "I fear they would not understand. That is why I have come to you, and insisted you stayed here in the barn. I want you to help me escape and rescue Anna."
  158. <Class> wisper to Corbekix "there is someone sneaking around"
  159. <CJ> Edith: "What if Anna doesn't want to be rescued?"
  160. * Class turn his head into the direction
  161. * Corbenik draws sword and shield
  162. <Makara> (180 degree owl head turn)
  163. * Silas_ smiles at Edith
  164. <CJ> You can both make out a figure, clutching a sack, trying to move stealthily round you to the village side fo the woods
  165. <Corbenik> -_- whispering "well what should we do?"
  166. * Class spont a lvl 5 Animal spell to sharpen his sight
  167. <CJ> Edith "Anyway if Anna needs rescuing I'll be the one to gut this Mother Isobel not you monk" she says proudly.
  168. <Class> wispering "I will follow him try to keep me in sight"
  169. <CJ> Class, don't worry about rolling. Easy for you. The figure is moving stealthily, but is ware fo you two. Class (only please make a Per+Awareness roll)
  170. <CJ> Actually ware fo Corbenik - the stranger ignores an owl
  171. <Silas_> "We don't need to 'gut' anyone, dear. If Anna wishes to leave we can do so secretly. I do not wish to cause undo harm"
  172. <Class> (Yes lvl 5 is stressles spont for Class)
  173. <CJ> Edith looks a little disappointed at Silas's words
  174. <Baruch> "Yes, we can help you, I presume, given that she is wont to come with us."
  175. <CJ> Yep, Class, anoher roll please
  176. <Silas_> (hehe I fear I'm a constant sauce of disappointment to her with my pacifistic ways)
  177. <Class> !roll 1d10+5 (+1 if Alertness and no penalty for night)
  178. <CrownBot> Class, (+1 if Alertness and no penalty for night): 7 :2+5
  179. <Baruch> "One life less wasted in prayer, let us hope."
  180. <CJ> Gui: Excellent! May the lord praise you ! Gui hugs Baruch
  181. <Baruch> "Ah, excuse me, Gui."
  182. <Class> (without boost)
  183. <Corbenik> (does sharp sight do anything to help that roll?)
  184. <Makara> "Assuming what we are doing here is worth the praise of the lord and not the opposite."
  185. <CJ> Nope; but Class as you swoop in to a tree above the leather clad man you smell what is in his bag. Rabbits
  186. <Class> (I fear I have to spend confidence with that bad roll to not lose him)
  187. <CJ> Corbenik, he is moving like a criminal does...
  188. <Corbenik> (uh oh)
  189. * Class fly back to corbenik
  190. <CJ> He is still in sight, trying to creep to edge fo woods. If he goes much further he will hit the stream and may find the boat
  191. <Class> "Just a poacher"
  192. <CJ> Gui: I'll go fetch my things! We have no time to waste!
  193. <Silas_> (Hiya Freespace!)
  194. <Class> (Welcom Gustbran)
  195. * Silas_ sighs as Gui leaves
  196. <CJ> (Morning Freespace!)
  197. <Makara> (yesss stab master, you have arrived)
  198. =-= freespace is now known as Gustbran
  199. <Silas_> "I guess we won't get much rest here..."
  200. * Corbenik eye twitches "Poacher?" (he says with such disgust) and starts walking towards the criminal
  201. <Gustbran> (Whad I Miss?)
  202. <CJ> Class, the poacher has crept in to the hamlet now
  203. <CJ> And Corbenik heads him off...
  204. <CJ> OKM Corbenik, roll initiative
  205. <CJ> !roll 1d10+1
  206. <CrownBot> CJ: 8 :7+1
  207. <Corbenik> !roll 1d10+3
  208. <CrownBot> Corbenik: 4 :1+3
  209. <Silas_> (Gui the monk is ready to move in with Anna (even if she isn't willing to do the same) and a poacher is sighted near our boat)
  210. <Corbenik> !roll 1d10
  211. <CrownBot> Corbenik: 2
  212. <Corbenik> ....
  213. <Corbenik> 5
  214. <Class> (no 7)
  215. <CJ> The poacher sees you step out, and squeals in terror in a very high pitched voice. He drops his rabbits and runs for it
  216. <Corbenik> "HALT" leadership roll
  217. <CJ> Okey doke...
  218. <CJ> Presence + Leadership
  219. <Corbenik> !roll 1d10+7 (+1 if intimidation)
  220. <CrownBot> Corbenik, (+1 if intimidation): 14 :7+7
  221. <CJ> The poacher was running towards the little church, but stops as you shout something. I think that was in Latin, as Class just spoke to you?
  222. <Corbenik> (Unfortunately yes)
  223. <Silas_> "We best get ready to leave I suspect. Half the church may be chasing us soon."
  224. <CJ> Brother Gui emerges from teh cottage with a sack, and heads over tot eh church
  225. <CJ> The poacher slowly walks towards Corbenik
  226. <CJ> whats everyone doing
  227. <Gustbran> (where am I and what happened? Poacher?)
  228. * Corbenik staring through a poacher's soul
  229. <Silas_> (Gathering what few things we have in the barn)
  230. * Makara thinking in the barn
  231. * Class wondering about Coperniks action and watch if he need some help
  232. <Gustbran> (literally just woke up.)
  233. <Silas_> "We are moving Gust, get ready"
  234. <Baruch> Yeah, I'll gather my stuff and head outside
  235. <Gustbran> "Ok!"
  236. <CJ> OK people, please update Gustbran.
  237. <Baruch> We're off to rescue Edith's sister from the monastery
  238. <Class> (Cj your mouse work again?)
  239. <Baruch> but we're not quite sure if she wants to be rescued
  240. <Corbenik> (Corbenik and Class found a poacher, and I am currently scarying the shit out of him)
  241. <CJ> Corbenik, it becomes clear to you that while dressed as a male, the poacher is a young woman, perhaps twenty years old. She looks frightened, but also rather proud and unrepentant. She glares at you
  242. <Baruch> Apparently there's a french priest out there, because the previous leader got a bad rep for losing one of the dragon crowns
  243. <Gustbran> (sorry I'm late, I just couldn't pull an all nighter after that busy day)
  244. <Silas_> (no worries :) )
  245. <Class> (No problem Freespace)
  246. <Gustbran> (might have to leave early as they'll be returning in a couple hours.
  247. <Gustbran> )
  248. <Silas_> "Edith, this wasn't the crown your father dug up, was it?"
  249. <Corbenik> "Huh, so, why is it that you decided to run when you first saw me, however you now can look at me like that? Simply put what were you doing?"
  250. <CJ> (no problem at all! Good to have you here)
  251. <CJ> Edith to Silas: the crown was not far from 'ere. But it wasn't dad who dug it up, he just showed Stephen where it was!
  252. <Gustbran> "That stephan..."
  253. <CJ> Corbenik: the girl looks at you blankly, not understanding Latin
  254. * Gustbran grips his spear.
  255. <CJ> Gui emerges from the church and hurried towards you with his sack of possessions
  256. <Silas_> "but do you suppose it could be the same crown?"
  257. <Corbenik> -_- makes a gesture that is commonly ment as speak up
  258. <Corbenik> or well
  259. * Class watch the monk with a uneasy feeling
  260. <CJ> Edith: Yes, it was the crown that was used to crown Edmund!
  261. <CJ> brb phone
  262. <Baruch> "Corbenik, come along. We are leaving for the monastery."
  263. <Silas_> "ah yes."
  264. <Corbenik> (I'm certain I'm out of voice range)
  265. <Corbenik> (or where is the hamlet?)
  266. <Baruch> "We should probably look into this crown business, now that we are here, as well."
  267. <Class> (it all hapened in a very small radius so you hear it)
  268. <Corbenik> "A moment! (in latin)
  269. <CJ> The girl says to Corbenik "Who are you scarin' a poor lass 'alf to death?" OK Corbenik, you can speak to her now
  270. <Silas_> [to Baruch] "Keep it down you two!"
  271. <CJ> Gui: makes quiet sign, and gestures at cottage where his fellow monks are sleeping
  272. <CJ> He creeps in tt he barn, to get something
  273. <Corbenik> "Hmf, wondering why you were out there, and this is getting more interesting as you seem to have a reason to."
  274. <Makara> "I guess she's here to help us escape?"
  275. <Corbenik> (I'm speaking in English currently CJ?)
  276. <Class> (Copernik talking in english now if I understand it right)
  277. <Corbenik> (yeah)
  278. <Silas_> [to Gui] "I guess you have not let any note so they know you left voluntarily?"
  279. <CJ> Ethel: I'm out here trying to ctach some rabbits, to feed my baby, why i it you buisness?
  280. <Silas_> ^left*
  281. <CJ> OK Silas where you heading to?
  282. <CJ> Gustbran Perception + Folk Ken
  283. <Silas_> Back to the boat, when Gui is ready to leave
  284. <Corbenik> "Is that not poaching, or do you have the proper rights to hunt here?"
  285. * Class fly back to the boat
  286. <CJ> OK, Gui comes with you, ignoring the girl. She looks curiously at him as he passes though
  287. <CJ> Class you get tot he boat
  288. <Gustbran> !roll 1d10-1 (no training for folk ken)
  289. <CrownBot> Gustbran, (no training for folk ken): 8 :9-1
  290. <Corbenik> "hmmm do you know that monk?"
  291. <CJ> Ethel to Corbenik: the Lord owns the woods and the warren, but I have a baby to feed, and he lives in Wales. What harm if I take rabbits for my stew?
  292. <CJ> Gustbran, ou have three points of confidence I think. Want to spend one?
  293. <Gustbran> (don't have any. Grog)
  294. <Corbenik> "The harm is that he has the right then to kill you... unfortunately." (CJ I did get another 18 coins at the begining of summer correct?, or whatever the pay is)
  295. <CJ> Ethel to Corbenik: Borhter Bernard. Oh he is a handsome one, spawn of the debbil 'e be. Turn a girls head then get her in trubble and leave her with a babe to feed, and I should know!
  296. <CJ> (yes yu have the coins)
  297. <Silas_> (heh...)
  298. <CJ> MAkara, what you up to?
  299. <Class> "Corbenik leave this poor woman I know people like here only hunt to survive even if the Nobility dot like it its not our turf so you have no legal right here"
  300. <Makara> Standing with the group
  301. <Corbenik> (wait what was the pay, I have 18 currently and I remember buying something)
  302. <CJ> OK, everyone but Corbenik and Gustbran bac at boat?
  303. <CJ> (I think 24)
  304. <Silas_> (is by the boat)
  305. <Baruch> Me too
  306. * Corbenik I give her 20 coins
  307. <CJ> She looks horrified. "I'm not that kind of gal! And if I was I would not charge more than tuppence!"
  308. <Class> (boat is in fog thats why It should be Ok to talk as Owl ^^)
  309. <CJ> (yep, baot still in fog from makara spell)
  310. <Corbenik> "Heh, no that is not what that is for, have a nice day" walks towards boat
  311. <CJ> (Gustbran, though you upgraded to Companion???)
  312. <Gustbran> (I did, that gives me conf?)
  313. <CJ> She looks amazed, and runs in to the church
  314. <CJ> Yes, Confidence points 3, Confidence Score 1.
  315. <Silas_> [informs Amaranth of Guis wishes and that we need to leave once the grogs are good to go]
  316. <Gustbran> (then cool, if so then yes)
  317. <Gustbran> (I will spend one)
  318. <CJ> Have 6 not three as you have done a few things :)
  319. <Class> (Yes you have Confidence unless you took a flaw in this)
  320. <Silas_> (stabbing so many people ought to give some confidence :p grog or not)
  321. <CJ> You suddenly recognise that girl. Ethel Farathing, pretty girl from respectable family in Stowmarket. Ran off when she was 16 with a travelling minstrel, never heard f her since. Seems she did not get far
  322. <CJ> Farthing not Farathing
  323. <CJ> Her father is the churchwarden at Stowmarket
  324. <Makara> Farting
  325. <Corbenik> (who remembered that?)
  326. <Silas_> (gust did)
  327. * Gustbran mentions this to those who are near
  328. <Gustbran> (still not running at 100%.)
  329. <CJ> OK, everyone back at boat.
  330. <Silas_> [in a low hissing voice] are you about ready?
  331. <CJ> Corbenik, take it you got there?
  332. <CJ> Gui seems very anxious ot get going
  333. <Corbenik> (yeah)
  334. <CJ> OK, who is flying this thing?
  335. <Class> "Who fly?"
  336. <Silas_> "Where was this monastery Gui?"
  337. <Silas_> [looks to Baruch]
  338. <Class> (What attribut was it again?)
  339. <Baruch> "I'll do it."
  340. <Baruch> !roll 1d10+6
  341. <CrownBot> Baruch: 11 :5+6
  342. * Corbenik sits down, closes his eyes, and think about the woman
  343. * Gustbran sighs in relief it's not going to be silas who flies it.
  344. <CJ> "This is Bures" says Gui, "we need to fly to Borley"
  345. <Class> (Dex+ Finesse is it right?)
  346. <Baruch> (int at least last time)
  347. <Class> (even bether but +4 is still low -.-)
  348. <Silas_> (Does the same Gust :p )
  349. <CJ> Yes, the boat takes off and moves smoothly through the air
  350. <Makara> How well would fog looks in the sky?
  351. * Class make head scout from time to time
  352. <CJ> The fog looks like a cloud
  353. <Silas_> (cloud like? ^^ )
  354. <Gustbran> (how well could we navigate like that though...)
  355. <Silas_> (that... is an excellent questions, actually)
  356. <Class> (Ups thats the downside of the illusion disguise as even his maker dont see trough it ^^)
  357. <CJ> Ah well the effect si on the boat, but I think looking out not an issue
  358. <CJ> but I need to think about that
  359. <Class> (So fare we played we can see out)
  360. <Makara> (poke head out occasionally?)
  361. <Class> (as we used the cloud disguse a vew times so fare)
  362. <CJ> OK, sorry had ot answer the door. A thousand duistractions today
  363. <Baruch> (Yeah, maybe we made it so it's mostly on the bottom of the boat, or just where our heads are so we can peek out)
  364. <Makara> (How did the mage on that flying boat spy on us works then?)
  365. <Silas_> (indeed, but it could be a fun problem...)
  366. <Makara> (or lots of eye hole...)
  367. <Makara> (Or I could make it transparent inside?)
  368. <Silas_> (You can cast a spell to see through illusions can't you?)
  369. <Class> (Second Sight and also the posibility to see trough ow Illusions ect.)
  370. <CJ> OK, so you fly through the night, and see ahead of you a large stoe church, a fairly small but well built stone convent, a manor house and outlying farms.
  371. <CJ> Across from the Church is an area of orchards, and ther eis pond further down road
  372. <CJ> The village is built on a corner that turns a sharp 90 degrees
  373. <CJ> It's very isolated amnd rural
  374. <CJ> There are open fields around, but plenty of areas of scrubby woodland
  375. <CJ> am I still connected
  376. <CJ> ?
  377. <Baruch> (yeah)
  378. <Class> (What year was GB nearly woodless again?)
  379. <Baruch> I'll land in a wooded patch near the convent
  380. <CJ> Never as far as I know. We still have 15% woodland in England
  381. <Baruch> or well wait
  382. <CJ> OK, just down the road.
  383. <Baruch> "Where do you think she is, Gui?"
  384. <CJ> ok, you are cicling the village
  385. <Class> (I thought trough the time of the wooden ships the neraly complet deforested and then started a reforestation)
  386. <Gustbran> (surely it's a little early for that though)
  387. <CJ> Gui: She will be in the the convent. The manor house wil have the Lord and his knights in, and they protect the nunnery
  388. <CJ> (yes, but that is still 400 years in future)
  389. <Baruch> Yes, so wood near convent it is
  390. <Gustbran> (that was more of a renaisance era event)
  391. <Class> (Thanks for the answear)
  392. <CJ> OK, you land the boat in the wooods
  393. <CJ> Gui: There is a problem, you see the manor house is right by the convemnt. If the alarm is raised we will have real problems
  394. <Silas_> "Do you happen to know how the insides look, Gui? Where she might be when,.. if we get inside?"
  395. <CJ> GUi: Also, no men can enter the nunnery
  396. * Silas_ looks to Edith
  397. <Class> (Who of our companions have some backpack or sack with him?)
  398. <Corbenik> "well-------------------- how did you expect us to help you then?"
  399. * Makara looks at calpurnia at the direction of convenant.
  400. <Silas_> (Edith is the single woman here right, and she has a tendency to want to stab things)
  401. <CJ> EDith: I don't think they will let me in in the middle of the night :)
  402. * Calpurnia shivers, then laughs
  403. <Class> "Hmm if only women can enter I could sponant a bit but still"
  404. <Silas_> "So, how do we get in without alerting the guards? ideas?"
  405. <Baruch> Was there a way into the convent from above? What does it look like exactly?
  406. <Silas_> [looks to the group]
  407. <Makara> "Turn invisible?"
  408. <Class> "Its no big problem to turn 2 or 3 of you into wuman ^^"
  409. <Silas_> "hmm.. even so"
  410. <Class> (is a level 5 corpus and in the night I can do this stressless)
  411. <Makara> "Our voice would need to be woman"
  412. <Class> (It will be is Corpus)
  413. <Makara> "But how long would it last?"
  414. <Class> "Your voice is also affected by this spell"
  415. <CJ> I wish I had a map, but essentially it is a rectangle. At one end there is the Mother superiours house, then the dormitory, the infirmary, a gatehouse and a refectory, all built againts one another. It's a tiny walled enclave, barely 70 paces sqare.
  416. <Gustbran> "..."
  417. <Class> "Night" Sadly during the day and when we enter theyr domain I cant refresh
  418. <CJ> Structure Spells would effect all of it
  419. <Makara> (you can draw it on the website cj)
  420. <Corbenik> "I'll go talk to the lord, anyone else want to go with me?"
  421. <CJ> (I can do it freehand now if anyone has a site thats fast?"
  422. <Makara> http://www.scriblink.com/
  423. <CJ> At one end outside the nunnery if the Church, and the other end is the Manor House
  424. <Makara> (click the get url and we will join you)
  425. <Silas_> "Hmm, what will you talk about, Corbenik?"
  426. <Makara> (take your time to draw the box and shape)
  427. <Class> "Also you realy whant to disrupt him at this late nighttime?"
  428. <Corbenik> "Events, I doubt I will ever be able to enter a place thats only for women and is a religious insitution. Well I will wait."
  429. <CJ> OK take a 5 minute break guys
  430. <Class> "As mentioned I could tourn us all into women for the rest of the night but not the cloths"
  431. <CJ> I'll do maps :)
  432. <Silas_> robes will work, and Gust already has a cross...
  433. <Corbenik> "Also I rather not leave my sword and armor to possible theft."
  434. <Silas_> (what is Gustbran wearing btw?)
  435. <Makara> (spear)
  436. <Silas_> (lol)
  437. <Gustbran> (leather armor... for men.)
  438. <Makara> (maybe make you ugly musclur woman)
  439. <Baruch> "Corbenik, I doubt the lord will be willing to force the nuns to give up one of their number."
  440. <Baruch> "It is not his business, after all."
  441. <Makara> "Let's try not to offend the divine at any possible way"
  442. * Gustbran is uneasy at this plan to cross genders.
  443. <Silas_> "I wonder, do nunneries allow exchange of nuns?..."
  444. <Corbenik> "..... I know, but if all of us go then how we be ready should things go bad, mainly for us mudanes."
  445. <Class> (trough the night I barly make it to 25 for Corpus effects any negativ from Aura and no longer posible)
  446. <Makara> "So it's best for those that can easily escape to go then"
  447. <Silas_> "Meaning... Baruch, and class then?"
  448. <Makara> (my spellcasting suck)
  449. <Class> (ups miscalculated as the spell I rember is self only so I have to spend stress but if it is only Baruch I can do)
  450. <Baruch> "I am not much of an actor, as you may have noticed."
  451. <Silas_> "... but if worst comes to worst you could escape.."
  452. <Makara> "Try shaking those hips"
  453. <CJ> http://www.scriblink.com/index.jsp?act=phome&roomid=428&KEY=14EBDAA27BDE2ECBD0779C972E4BED02
  454. <Makara> LOOK AT ALL THOSE GIANT MUSHROOM AT THE ORCHARD
  455. <Gustbran> (I'm having problems seeing it.)
  456. <Makara> click the warning
  457. <Silas_> "Alternative, we land inside the convent by night, sneak around hoping to find Anna and only Anna"
  458. <Makara> then click run
  459. <Gustbran> (I think it thinks I'm behind a firewall or something)
  460. <Makara> (click the warning thing)
  461. <Class> "I'm not good with persons anyway"
  462. <Gustbran> (there is no warking thing)
  463. <Class> "So we need a other option"
  464. <Makara> I will take a screenshot then)
  465. <Class> (It need Java)
  466. <Gustbran> (I know that. I need java for minecraft. Yes I have that)
  467. <Makara> http://postimage.org/image/7s2ewko3b/
  468. <Corbenik> Good
  469. <Gustbran> (lol mushrooms!)
  470. <Silas_> "The nunnery may allow visitors in the morning, Edith would likely be allowed to visit her sister, and explain the situation.."
  471. <Makara> also, update your java maybe
  472. <Class> "We could wait till they leave for the morningprayer and look for her then from some hiding"
  473. <Gustbran> (it's up to date, just updated... 2 days ago?)
  474. <Makara> (what did you see on the screen?)
  475. <CJ> OK, di that actually work?
  476. <Makara> yep
  477. <Baruch> Yes, thakns
  478. <Silas_> "hmm, even so, we would need to get to her eventually"
  479. <CJ> My pc rashed when I tried to share it so I had to reboot
  480. <Class> (Hmm what I'm saying Class dont know about the customs of this people)
  481. <CJ> OK, sorry
  482. <Gustbran> (Loading Your Whiteboard
  483. <Gustbran> Java 1.5 or greater required (www.java.com). If you are using a corporate computer, a firewall may be blocking the site (port 3322).
  484. <Gustbran> )
  485. <Baruch> Gus: did you check our makara's ?
  486. <CJ> Mine said that. I hit OK and it worked Gustbran
  487. <Silas_> You see it, no more worrying
  488. <Makara> (we will just do screenshot then. http://postimage.org/image/7s2ewko3b/ )
  489. <CJ> anyway very rough map, but accurate enough. I have spent a bit of time in the village
  490. <Gustbran> (theres no ok though. irrelevant now.)
  491. <Makara> (We need to harvest those giant mushroom)
  492. <CJ> (After this session you might be able ot work out why, but don't google it yet ok, contains spoilers)
  493. <Class> "Do this people have any customs where they leave the building? Maybe we can talk to here then"
  494. <CJ> It's 2am in the morning
  495. <Baruch> "Gui, how will we recognize her when we find her?"
  496. <CJ> people not likely to go anywhere
  497. <Silas_> "My suggestion is this, see if they allow Edith to visit Anna in the morning. She explain the idea and hear if Anna even WANTS to come. If she does we can wait till evening and pick her up in the boat inside the convent's walls"
  498. <Makara> (I guess we are in the forest area at west )
  499. <CJ> Gui: She looks like Edith
  500. <Class> (some have the morning prayer betwean 4 and 5 am)
  501. <CJ> (you are - it's a wood, and not that big!)
  502. <Class> (But Class dont know this)
  503. <CJ> Matins will be next service, at Dawn
  504. <CJ> Dawn here will be about 5am
  505. <CJ> Edith and Gustbran would know
  506. <CJ> Many lay people observe the liturgical hours
  507. <CJ> quite fashionable to pray at those hours even f not a monk or nun
  508. <Baruch> "I think Silas' suggestion has its merits. Less likelihood of trouble, like that."
  509. <Silas_> "Do you think you could convince them to let you speak with her Edith, in the morning?"
  510. <Makara> "Family visit is permitted right?"
  511. <CJ> Gui: If We approach Sir William, I doubt he will let us anywhere near the convent! We should simply sneak in and rescue her. What resistance can nuns make?
  512. <CJ> He hefts his sack on to his lap and looks thoughtful
  513. <CJ> We can escape in your magic flying boat, before the knighst can be awakeneded!
  514. <CJ> Note to Corbnik: this is all very illegal you suspect
  515. <Class> "Then can we catch here sometimes outside like when she work or visit this place over there" pointing at the curch
  516. <Silas_> "I am more worried what the knights next door can make"
  517. <Corbenik> (I know)
  518. <CJ> Edith: Oh they'fd let me in, and let Gustbran talk ot her through the hatch in the gate
  519. <CJ> But only in daytime!
  520. <Makara> "Good, problem solve."
  521. <CJ> Not in middle of the night, like...
  522. <Silas_> "We can wait, surely?"
  523. <Gustbran> "I say we wait then"
  524. * Silas_ gives Gui a glance
  525. <Makara> (so, what to do for 3 hours)
  526. <CJ> Edith: Sir William? I think he was the lord who came and took Arabella of Jerbiton away
  527. <Baruch> "There is the matter of the crown, as well. Perhaps we could discuss this with the so-called french priest?"
  528. <Silas_> "Was she from Libellus?" [to Edith]
  529. <Class> "Dont you need some rest I doubt it is good if you do this after be awake for a complet day"
  530. <Silas_> "I do need rest!"
  531. <Makara> "I had slept during the day, so I'm fine"
  532. <Baruch> "It seems the fate of the covenant might be tied to the crown somehow, so it would seem prudent to help him retrieve it, should he be so inclined."
  533. <CJ> Gui: The "french priest" is the nickname fo the Archbishop of CAnterbury, Stephen Langton. He has been in Paris for a few years: when he was elected Archbishop, King John outlawed him as he is a great friend fo John's enemy the French King
  534. <Silas_> [nods to Baruch] "I agree"
  535. <Makara> (probably the church next to the high class french inn)
  536. <CJ> Edith to Silas: Yes She was Stephan Eruditus's apprentice. They argued after he took the crown, and then one one day a big lord and aload fo knighst came and took her away
  537. <CJ> That lord was called Sir William
  538. <Silas_> "Gorcicious mentioned him, I think, in his last words.."
  539. <Gustbran> (so nice to be in an era where political opposition makes you an outlaw...)
  540. <Silas_> "Curious, so we might wish to see if she is in there too?"
  541. <Makara> (We have king william in our covenant)
  542. <Baruch> (Gahh, I'm confused by all these things.)
  543. <CJ> (Note: Sorry if confusing, but two stephens. Stephen Eruditus who dug up the crown is the Jerbiton Magus of Libellus, and Stephen Langton is the exiled John-hating archbishop of Canterbury. The monks were working for the Archbishop, NOT the Archmagus. Hope this clarifies)
  544. <Silas_> (you properly understand it as well as it should be Baruch :p )
  545. <Makara> (All nemesis shall thus be named Stephen)
  546. <Silas_> (hehe)
  547. <Baruch> (So we are now in the abbey from which stephen the mage stole the crown?)
  548. <CJ> Gui: Of course now King John has vanished and is believed by many to be dead, and the Archbishop will probably return to England
  549. <Baruch> (And stephen the other stephen was previously guarding it?)
  550. <Class> "Anyway I need get me something to eat bevore dawn would you mind If I go catching me something?"
  551. <Baruch> "Go ahead, if you must."
  552. <CJ> (Nope: The crown was buried somewhere near Libellus and Long Melford - only Edith knows where. It was however originally used to crown King Edmund 350 years ago at Bures, where the chapel is where Brother Gui has fled from. That chapoel is called the chapel of the crown. You are now 8 miles way form either, at Borley Nunery)
  553. <Class> "Good I'm back in a bit then"
  554. <Baruch> (Ok, I get it. So this place doesn't have anything directly to do with the crown thing.)
  555. <Class> (Afk for a vew Minutes need to do something)
  556. <Gustbran> (that we know of... dun dun dun!!!)
  557. <CJ> (dith's family guarded the crown. Stephen the archmagus convinced them to let him dig it up. He went off to Tribunal with it. Stephen Langton the Archbishop sent three monks to Bures chjapelto avoid the curse of Saint Edmund for having it dug up)
  558. <CJ>
  559. <Baruch> (Ok, starting to piece this together now.)
  560. <Silas_> (goodie :) )
  561. <CJ> Stephen Eruditus and Stephen Langton are both friends of the French King. More importantly Edith knows no foreign army can invade England while all the three holy crowns are safely buried - but now one is not.
  562. <Corbenik> (.... goody a french invasion)
  563. <Makara> (le invasion)
  564. <Gustbran> (!)
  565. <Silas_> "Arabella could be inside, is that what you suggest Edith?" *smirks* "I suppose she may know more of archmage Stephan, which we would need"
  566. <CJ> (Meanwhile since the game started the Barons have forced King John to sign the magna carta, which you never prevented, and then in the last season when he tried to go back on it they rebelled and have raised an army, and John has fled in to hiding or died. No one is quite sure where he is)
  567. <Baruch> "A problem with Silas' plan, though, is that we would have to wait here until tomorrow night."
  568. <Corbenik> (and for once in existence the french maybe able to do it and win, a french british isles)
  569. <CJ> Edith to Silas: She moight be in there, but ol' Stephan was roight royalled, so she moight be dead
  570. <CJ> (When Edith is in Suffolk her accent quickly comes back)
  571. <Class> (back)
  572. <Silas_> [nods] "We should perhaps see if we can't find her too then, if the chance presents itself"
  573. <Silas_> "But you are right Baruch.."
  574. <Silas_> "It isn't a perfect plan, and it relies heavily on Anna..."
  575. <CJ> (KIng John has recently lost Normandy, Brittany, and much of his continental lands. He still has Gascony, but really the French are taking masses of Angevin lands from King John. He is desperate to reconquer these dominions of the English crown, before he only has GGascony and Calais left)
  576. <CJ> (remeber France is until about ten years ago a tiny little state with claims to a lot of land but no real power, and much of what we called France today is ruled by England)
  577. <Silas_> "... there is always the possibility of making a sufficiently large decoy... but I am not comfortable with that"
  578. <Makara> "Knowing Calpurnia, she would start a fire."
  579. <Silas_> "She would..."
  580. <Makara> (We could really use a thief skilled companion)
  581. <Corbenik> (huh a fire? well somewhat but she would be sponting)
  582. <Silas_> (actually I made a grog the other day that would have been perfect (save perhaps the gender) for this, but still hasn't figured out how to empoy him)
  583. <Baruch> "Perhaps we should scout ahead a little. Someone could go ahead and cast prying eyes on the buildings, see if we could easily retrieve her"
  584. <Silas_> (Prying eyes is a spell?)
  585. <Baruch> (InIm 5, lets you see inside a room if you can touch a wall.)
  586. <Silas_> (so it is!)
  587. <CJ> Yep. Lvl 5 INIm
  588. <Makara> (welp, someone go do that then)
  589. <Silas_> "I could try..."
  590. <Class> (Not the thing of Class ^^)
  591. <Makara> (class can fly around so he can check from roof)
  592. <Baruch> "Would you? That would be great, this is not exactly my strong suit. Besides, if things go wrong, I might need my powers intact."
  593. <Class> (Can't spontan this with Class)
  594. <Silas_> "... alright"
  595. <Silas_> (can I try casting eyes of the cast first?)
  596. <Baruch> (great idea)
  597. <Class> !roll 1d10+6 (how fast the hunt is)
  598. <CrownBot> Class, (how fast the hunt is): 15 :9+6
  599. <Silas_> (my own eyes might not do much in the darkness...)
  600. <Baruch> "Could you describe the lost apprentice to Silas, Edith?"
  601. <CJ> Class back already :)
  602. <Baruch> "That way he might be able to spot her, too, if she's in there."
  603. * Class return from his hunt
  604. <CJ> Edith: Ugly as a newt - big eyes, big nose, lots of curly red hair. Magician. Made milk curdle and hens stop laying when came mnar 'em. Up herself. Had a wart on her nose
  605. <Silas_> !roll 1d10+8 (sta+MuCo, no waving for eyes of the cat)
  606. <CrownBot> Silas_, (sta+MuCo, no waving for eyes of the cat): 12 :4+8
  607. * Silas_ tries to control his wry smile
  608. <CJ> Everyone sees Silas eyes cleam in teh starlight, as they change to look like those of cats.
  609. <Class> (oh come on why dont you ask Class for such spells as he easy could do this a fatigue less spell)
  610. <Silas_> (I forget :p )
  611. <CJ> Edith: rattling on unoncerned - bad breath, stank of garlic. Talked funny. Silly and empty headed. Did not know how ot milk a cow
  612. <Makara> (The more twlight the merrier)
  613. <Silas_> "Right, I'll sneak down and give it a try"
  614. <Silas_> (indeed :p )
  615. <CJ> OK rest of you staying behind?
  616. <Gustbran> (yup)
  617. <Corbenik> (I've been lost for a while so yeah)
  618. <Makara> (for now)
  619. <Baruch> "Could you fly on top of the buildings, Class? You might be able to aid Silas if needed."
  620. <Silas_> (deeply considering the philosophical aspects of what we are about to do ^^)
  621. <Class> (A other option would be InCo if we have a arcan conection to them)
  622. <CJ> (Corbenik - not much happened - sitting in wood. You seen map?)
  623. <Baruch> (I think I'll stay behind for now.)
  624. <Corbenik> (yeah)
  625. <Baruch> (It's hard as hell to spont through an arcane connection.)
  626. <Class> "Will do this. If we have a arcan conection to her maybe a Corpus spell to locat her would also work"
  627. <CJ> OK Silas creep down the road passed the manor house. He approaches the nunnery. He walks round it, and dinds what he hopes is the nun's dormitory
  628. <CJ>
  629. <CJ> Silas roll to cast Prying Eyes
  630. * Class fly up and have a look at silas and what else go on
  631. <CJ> Class you fly over. All the lights in the nunnery are out, and you see the courtyard and various buildings below
  632. <Corbenik> "Gustbran, want to check out the church or pond to see if anyone knows any events, without giving our intition of taking Edith's sister out"
  633. <Silas_> !roll 1d10+14 (sta+InIm no waving or loud voices)
  634. <CrownBot> Silas_, (sta+InIm no waving or loud voices): 21 :7+14
  635. <CJ> The room you see in is lkit only by a low fire, but with eyes of the cat it is enough. It has a single elderly nun sleeping in a chair by a fire, and rows of beds, with herbs drying over head. The infirmary
  636. * Class land above the carriage house when Silas do the frontside
  637. <Silas_> (can I see Class? ^^)
  638. <CJ> Class, the carriage house contains a travelling wagon of the type used by nobles. There is a team of horses for it grazing out the back
  639. <CJ> No other side of building to you
  640. <CJ> Well can now as walk round to frontside
  641. <CJ> Cast spell again?
  642. * Silas_ moves a bit hoping the next building is better
  643. <Silas_> !roll 1d10+14 (sta+InIm no waving or loud voices)
  644. <CrownBot> Silas_, (sta+InIm no waving or loud voices): 21 :7+14
