present at the moment, both of them having arrived at the starport a day or two earlier on another tranport which departed from

off as best you can. Suddenly Resnikoff  brings his hand up ina  fist movement, signalling the line to halt
[19:57] <Deathbane> A message begins to be passed down the line
[19:57] <Stephan__> I will conserve oxygen
[19:57] * Stephan__ puts off his mask again
[19:58] * Remus merely glances out from the back of the line to see what the holdup is.
[19:58] <Dierson_Pyre> *YELLS* WHY ARE WE STOPPED?
[19:58] * Stephan__ feels a little bit sickly form atmosphere
[19:58] <Deathbane> "Dangerous ground ahead. The slope is dangerous, we will need to go down slowly to avoid an incident. The slope is

covered in rocks"

[19:59] <Deathbane> You see that the ground suddenly falls off
[19:59] <Jacob_Dorn> *rubs his arms and slowly marches on the spot in a atemtp to warm himself up*
[19:59] <Deathbane> "We need someone to go forward and take a guide road" Resnikoff exlaims
[19:59] <Deathbane> *rope
[19:59] <Dierson_Pyre> *stands in contempt of the cold*
[19:59] * Biorn rolls around in a nice warm bed at the star port

[20:01] <Deathbane> Stephan begins to feel like something is watching him, and looks behind uneasily
[20:03] <Deathbane> "No volunteers?" Resnikoff  calls
[20:03] * Stephan__ thinks to himself: "what was that"

[20:04] <Deathbane> "Excellent, unhook yourself and come forward cadet" Resnikoff  calls

[20:05] * Stephan__ starts going down the cliff cauciolusly
[20:06] <Deathbane> As you go forward you can see what Resnikoff was meaning. The slope looks steep, but not particularly deep, but it

appears to gso on for quite a while to either side. It looks like it would be impossible to go round without wasting too much time
[20:06] * Stephan__ looks around for the safest path knowing Dorn would likely slip and die
[20:07] <Dierson_Pyre> *standing with crossed arms catching breath waiting on stephan to scout ahead*
[20:08] <Deathbane> Stephan has no trouble finding a safe path, and quickly spots the safest path down through the ice and the protruding

rocks. He also spots a particular chunk of ice which looks table enough to anchor the first part of the guide line

[20:09] * Stephan__ is feeling the effects of oxygen depravation again due to higher physical effort
[20:09] * Stephan__ puts mask back on
[20:10] * Stephan__ feels refreshed by the fresh oxygen
[20:10] <Deathbane> Stephan anchors the cable and begins to walk down the slope.  Breathing heavily and swaying in the wind, Stephan has

several narrow escapes as he slips and slides his way down to the bottom
[20:11] <Deathbane> when he gets there, he unceremoniously falls over backwards into a snowdrift, but he is down safely
[20:11] <Deathbane> Getting up, he anchors the other end of the guideline
[20:11] * Stephan__ gets up quickly
[20:12] <Stephan__>  that was close
[20:12] <Stephan__> *yells* I AM DOWN SAFELY
[20:12] <Deathbane> "Good!" calls Resnikoff
[20:13] <Deathbane> "Captain" says Luciean, "We are receiving a beacon. We believe one of our transports to be nearby"
[20:14] <Deathbane> Resnikoff  nods, and calls down the slope  "Cadet, is it safe to come down?" (directed at stephan

[20:16] <Deathbane> Dierson looks behind as a noise catches his attention, that stands out distinct from the wind
[20:17] <Deathbane> "Lets get moving then" cries Resnikoff , and begins off down the hill
[20:17] <Dierson_Pyre> *glances behind him*
[20:17] <Deathbane> Dierson swears he can see that the snow behind them seems to be moving
[20:17] <Dierson_Pyre> *squints into the snow*
[20:18] <Deathbane> The snow is definetly heaving, and the movement is getting closer

[20:19] <Deathbane> The line begins to go tight as the other crewmen begin to go over the slope and dierson feels himself pulled twoards the

slope

[20:23] <Deathbane> The last of thew crewmembers turns around just as the snow burts up in a showering of snow
[20:23] <Dierson_Pyre> WE CAN HANDLE IT, WE NEED TO ALLOW TIME FOR THE REST TO GET DOWN THE SLOPE!
[20:24] <Deathbane> Out of it bursts a long massl, and 5 sinious tendrils wrive forward from a central maw
[20:24] <Jacob_Dorn> *un hooks hom self from the people he is attached to and draws his Space Magnum*
[20:24] <Deathbane> It begins to tower higher and higher, finally stopping at around 10 metres in height

[20:25] * Stephan__ continues to looks at a distant red dot
[20:25] <Remus> What in the Founder's name is that?!
[20:25] <Deathbane> The creature lets out a hideous skreeing call as its maw opens wide

[20:27] <Deathbane> The crewmen who sees the creature panics and lets off a single shot with his pistol before falling down the ridge

[20:27] <Deathbane> The line suddenly goes taut and dierson finds himself being pulled abckwards as the crewmember begins to fall dragging

him along
[20:28] <Jacob_Dorn> *shakes his head shouting obcenitys in German and aims his gun at the Worm thing*
[20:28] * Stephan__ pulls out his gauss pustol
[20:28] * Stephan__ runs toward the crewman to examine him
[20:28] <Deathbane> Jacob Dorn suddenly finds his aim wander as him and dierson are pulled over the slope
[20:28] <Dierson_Pyre> *digs into snow to stop the fall*
[20:29] * Remus scrambles to unhook from the line and get away from the source of the gunshot
[20:31] <Deathbane> Dorn and Dierson go plunging over the slope along with the rest of the troop, Remus is barely unhooked when diersons mass tumbles over the slope into him knocking him down and over. Everyone tumbles to the bottom of the slope
[20:32] <Deathbane> Lucien stands up and shouts, getting the captains attention as they begin to stand. The creature begins to slither down

the slope, following the rolling bodies of the cadets
[20:32] * Stephan__ trys to evade the dog pile
[20:32] <Deathbane> Stephan sees the light grow closer, and can see what appears to be another dark shape heading to them from another direction
[20:33] <Jacob_Dorn> Holy Shiiiiiii!  *his sentence is cut short as they tumble over the edge*

[20:33] <Deathbane> Stephan succeeds, due to being past the range any of the falling people could reach

towards him

[20:46] <Deathbane> it pulls up at the last second in a fearful rage and begins thrashing wildly, ice and rock flying as it begins thrsahing
[20:47] <Deathbane> the other cadets, the captain and the xo have now recovered from the fall and have themselves began peppering the beast

with bullets
[20:47] * Stephan__ takes good aim and  fires at the beast
[20:47] <Dierson_Pyre> GOOD SHOT REMUS, you may be a warrior after all

[20:49] <Deathbane> The gauss pistol discharges, throwing Stephan back a full half meter causing him to stagger. THe round sails up and cuts

off another chunk oif flesh from the monster, which responds by bringing its tail down in a wide arc over the group
[20:52] <Deathbane> Dorn, Stephan and Dierson duck as the tail swings over
[20:53] <Deathbane> four cadets go sprawling sa they take a direct hit. Remus is caught by an offhand blow, receiving 4 fatigue damage and

being knocked through the air
[20:55] <Deathbane> Remus lands unconcious as the creature begins to cower
[20:56] * Dierson_Pyre starts to take aim at creature, instead, runs over to drag Remus clear of its reach
[20:56] * Stephan__ discharges his pistol again

[20:56] <Deathbane> Above the dim you can hear the sounds of an high pitch whine coming towards you
[20:57] <Deathbane> you see in the distance a hovercraft approaching, and 5 figures onboard
[20:57] <Deathbane> The guass pistol round sails towards the creature, and slams into it causing it to stagger
[20:58] <Deathbane> suddenly, a bright light pierces out from the sky and follows the trail of the fired gauss round
[20:58] <Deathbane> all of the party scatter as the creature is bathed in a brilliant blue light, and echoes a gigantic scream
[20:59] <Deathbane> Writhing in the air it begins to descend even as the smoke rises from its corpse
[21:00] <Stephan__> *yells full of excitement* Finally combat!
[21:12] <Deathbane> Even with the creatures corpse still cooling, the hovercraft come within sight. On the front of the craft, you can see outside a person sat on the front of the craft, resplendently white in the noon soon.

[21:13] * Stephan__ runs to examone the corpse of the crewman that fell forst

[21:18] * Remus groans as he starts to come to, as he starts to recall where we is, he flails to his feet and pulls out his gun and fires it wildly into the air!

[21:20] <Deathbane> The hovercraft gets closer, and eventually comes to a stop. The hatch opens, and several armed personnel members get out. Vane and Biorn clamber out of the hovercraft

[21:23] <Deathbane> Throwing his arms wide, he exclaims
[21:23] <Stephan__> Perhaps I will not need to worry about you shooting me in the heat of battle

[21:23] <Deathbane> "Welcome to Borea, cadets" and laughs

[21:27] * Remus clambers onto the hovercraft and finds a seat and falls into it.
[21:28] * Jacob_Dorn Looks over the worm and notictes teh colour of its "flesh" he then retches slightly with a posible realisation.

[21:28] <Deathbane> The loading of the 'survivors; is a grim business. Most of them are not really survivors, more like corpses

[21:35] <Deathbane> The hovercraft begins to turn as Lucien and the captain board the hovercraft grumbling. All of you upon entering the heavy hovercraft see a relatively spacious cargo bay, of bare metal with several seats at one end outside of the small cargo area
