[13:01] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 When last we left our group of bizarre misfits, they had departed from Manehattan to head out to the ruins of Cloudsdale (if there are any), in order to find something Keen had lost so long ago. Along the way they some interesting encounters; a possible ghost at Splendid Valley, a sapient Bear named Harry, and a miraculously untouched pre-war town
[13:02] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Now, they resume their trek after thoroughly looting said town, armed with fresh food and supplies, as well as a few new toys.
[13:03] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The group decided to stay in the relatively safe town overnight, and we now join them as they awake to resume their trek
07[13:05] * +Desert_Storm was totally on guard last night. She yawns loudly. Maybe she'd catch some z's on the way to Cloudsdale. It was kind of early, no need to wake anypony else up yet, although breakfast sounded like a good idea.
07[13:07] * +Wraith- sings to himself quietly, o/' ,"In olden days, a glimpse of stocking was looked as something shocking / But now Goddess knows, Anything goes..." o/'
07[13:10] * +Wraith- continues singingly quietly, in his raspy, graveled voice, o/' , "Good authors too who knew better words / Now only use four letter words / writing prose, Anything goes..." o/'
07[13:10] * +Primer rolls over and opens her eyes. "Goddesses... feels like a gecko shat on my tongue..."
07[13:10] * +Fire_Lily is quite sleepy. She's still dozing, half asleep, half awake.
15[13:11] * +Karina wakes up and drowsily lifts her head from wherever it was and looks at the singing.
07[13:12] * +Keen wipes the lens on his new scope. "Such a nice thing to say to start off a morning, honeybuns."
07[13:12] * +Desert_Storm loads Gasoline Dreams with her ME rounds. It was a simple setup. Big rifle for big stuff, smaller rifle for smaller stuff. She gets to work cleaning everything until it shines.
07[13:13] * +Primer looks at Keen... well, lets prove it then. Priemr hets up and gives Keen a long kiss. Demonstrating the fact that her tongue indeed tasted like lisard guano.
07[13:14] * +Keen breaks the kiss in no big hurry and ponders for a second. Smacks his lips a few times. "... What did you eat last night?"
07[13:15] * +Primer sits down and roots around for breakfast. "I don't remember... something that didn't have a label, but it tasted suspishously like dogfood."
07[13:15] * +Wraith- sings some more as his smoothcoat companions start rousing, o/' ,"If driving fast carriages you like / if low bars you like, if old hymns you like, if bare limbs you like, if Mare West you like, Or me undressed you like / Why, nopony would oppose..." o/'
15[13:16] * +Karina "That's nasty..." She shakes her head at Primer and Keen then gets up and heads towards the singing.
07[13:16] * +Fire_Lily gives a loud yawn and rolls herself upright. "S'goin' on?" she says to nopony in particular, just one of those questions you have to ask when you wake up to other ponies doing things you're too tired to comprehend.
04[13:18] * +Primer shrugs to Karina and tucks into her can of diced carrots.
07[13:19] * +Desert_Storm eats a can carrots too. In fact... all she had was carrots. She shrugs. They're good for your eyes.
07[13:19] * +Keen had already eaten his Scootal-oo's with tomato sauce for the morning, thanks.
15[13:20] * +Karina finds Wraith-. "You can stay dressed... it's okay."
04[13:21] * +Wraith- trots towards the various windows and openings looking out them for anything that might be approaching them as he continues to sing, o/' , "When ev'ry night, the set that's smart is intruding..-" o/' he stops as Karina talks to him and just raises a rotted eyebrow at her.

07[13:22] * +Wraith- blinks and asks dumbly, "What?"
07[13:22] * +Primer stretches and then starts to field strip her gins in preparation for the bays jurney. "You sleep alright Lily?"
07[13:23] * +Desert_Storm looks to Wraith. "Haven't heard that song in a while."
15[13:25] * +Karina "The song. You said you'd get undressed..." She shakes her head. "Nevermind."
07[13:26] * +Desert_Storm snickers.
07[13:26] * +Fire_Lily yawns again and looks toward Primer. "Huh? Uhh... yeah... I guess."
04[13:26] * +Wraith- should probably start eating carrots like mad with how oblivious he was sometimes, as he turns to Desert_Storm and says to her, "One of the few I remember that I don't mind hearing over and over again. I think it paints the picture of our world pretty close." he looks back at Karina and says, "Just a song... unless you were... coming on to me..."
07[13:27] * +Primer pushes a can of Spac to Fire_Lily.
07[13:27] * +Desert_Storm blinks. "..."
07[13:28] * +Desert_Storm snickers again.
07[13:28] * +Keen was drinking a bottle of water before spittaking it out in a coughing and chuckling mess. Thanks, Wraith. He needed to spit precious water everywhere.
15[13:28] * +Karina blinks at Wraith-. "No. I... No."
07[13:28] * +Fire_Lily takes it with a mumbled "Thanks." She'd probably eat in a moment when she was a little more awake. She stretches a bit, one leg at a time.
07[13:30] * +Primer smirks at Wraith's comment as she is inspecting a greased grenade, but doesn't otherwise comment.
07[13:30] * +Wraith- shrugs and turns his head towards the rest of the group for a moment to look at them, before turning away. Maybe he should think of a different song...
07[13:31] * +Desert_Storm laughs quietly to herself and goes back to her carrots and weapons. This new rifle sure was neat. She could probably use it while in the air.
15[13:31] * +Karina didn't mind the song at all... She... liked it. She sighs then pulls out her pipbuck to check how far away they were from Cloudsdale.
[13:32] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 According the the Pipbuck Map, they were within a day's trot of Cloudsdale. Or what used to be Cloudsdale at any rate
15[13:35] * +Karina clicky clicky clickies to navigate then nods as she gets what she wanted. She puts the pipbuck back, radio obviously still on, and looks over at the others. "Finish the chow and we can make it today if we leave now."

07[13:38] * +Fire_Lily eats quickly once she's suitably awake, and joins the others getting ready to go
07[13:38] * +Keen primes the now-softly humming rifle in his hooves before putting it away on his back. One more day until I can get back into my things. Just one.
15[13:39] * +Karina looks around and sees everyone is ready. "Alright." She turns and heads for the door to go outside and start walking for Cloudsdale.
04[13:41] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 As the group departs from the north end of Maneford, Storm, Primer and Karina's keen eyes catch sight of some unusual markings on the buildings north-facing walls. They seem to all be done in white and red paint
07[13:42] * +Desert_Storm stops and holds up a hoof. "What the hell are those?"
07[13:43] * +Primer looks at the strang markings and halts. "Hmmm..."
15[13:43] * +Karina blinks at the paint, but only slows to a walk. "What is it?"
07[13:43] * +Wraith- stops at Desert's voice and turns to look at the mare. He asks, "What the hell is what?" he then tries to see what she's looking for. Failing as usual... damn ghoulish... nearly 200 year old eyes...
07[13:44] * +Desert_Storm points up at the building. "Those."
15[13:45] * +Karina stops as the paintings click in her head. "They're messages. One's a ward... one's a warning..."
15[13:45] * +Karina "Along with a bunch of others..."
04[13:46] * +Wraith- trots over to Karina and asks, "What do they say?"
07[13:46] * +Desert_Storm looks to her and scratches her mane. "Warning? What's it warning us about?"
07[13:46] * +Primer squints at the markings. "Oookay, I see a lot of squiggles myself."

07[13:46] * +Keen turns towards where everypony's pointing. What's the big deal? It's paint.

07[13:48] * +Primer shrugs. "Well, lets not dissapoint and keep moving."
07[13:48] * +Fire_Lily doesn't like the sound of that. "Maybe we should go..."
07[13:49] * +Desert_Storm nods slowly. "Sounds like a plan." She didn't buy it. Probably just some tribal crap anyway.
07[13:49] * +Keen nods in accordance with Primer. Somepony didn't want visitors, he didn't like unnecessary violence. Win-win.
07[13:49] * +Fire_Lily would try telling Storm that magic was magic no matter what form, if Storm had said that out loud.
07[13:50] * +Wraith- hmphs. Saying, "Stupid crap, like anything is safe in the wastes." he turns and trots away from the superstitious nonsense.
15[13:52] * +Karina "Tribes don't just... throw this stuff up. There's a reason it's here... And there's a reason it's warning towards the north... Meaning we're probably -very- lucky to have made it this far safely..."
[13:53] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The interesting markings considered but largely ignored, the group proceeds in the direction of Cloudsdale. After a couple hours of travel...
07[13:53] * +Wraith- rolls his eyes and turns his head responding, "They put shit like that up because they want to play on your fears. Do you really believe everything you hear or see?"

15[13:54] * +Karina looks at Wraith- as they walk. "Which one of us was born into a tribe?"
07[13:54] * +Keen shrugged in accordance with Wraith. "Probably even marked in paint without sun silver and salt in it."

[13:55] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Desert_Storm spots movement from atop her cloud perch. Almost at the edge of her vision are a group of ponies. A closer look through her scope shows them to be wearing crude hide barding and carrying axes and spears as weapons. There's a half dozen of them, and they seem to be chasing a small group of RadHogs.
07[13:55] * +Desert_Storm hisses down to the party. "Hold up. Movement."
07[13:56] * +Keen pulls out his rifle and looks off in the distance. "Where?"
[13:56] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Four of the tribals are out ahead, throwing their axes at the prey, while two hang back with a cart, presumably to load up their game
04[13:56] * +Primer has been thinking as they walked, not the most productive of activities during the day, and was ready to speak. "I dunno Wraith... you don't get smoke without black powder."
07[13:56] * +Wraith- speaks, "Let me pose you a question. When you wanted to avoid a fight, did you put up a lot of spooky looking scarecro--" he stops and looks at Desert_Storm saying, "Sit-rep."
07[13:57] * +Primer looks down. "Sit? why?"
07[13:57] * +Desert_Storm follows them with her rifle sights. Now might be a nice opportunity to try out her new toy. She slaps in a magazine of Hollow Points and takes aim. "Six. That-a way. Looks like the ponies that made those markings are still here."
15[13:57] * +Karina "You're going to -shoot- at them?!"
07[13:58] * +Fire_Lily can't see a damn thing from the ground. "What's going on?"
[13:59] <+Desert_Storm> "Thinking about it."
[13:59] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribal ponies manage to bring down the RadHogs and start hauling them back to the cart. Storm can see them marked with face and body paint in the same red and white as the markings
15[13:59] * +Karina "Stop thinking about it."
07[13:59] * +Wraith- turns and says, "If you want, I'll trot up to them and if they attack me, you can start popping off rounds."
07[14:00] * +Desert_Storm sighs. "Well, if they're not going to try to kill us when they see us, then I'm all for talking to them. Let's let Wraith go see what they're up to."
02[14:01] * Fear_Full ([email protected]) Quit (Quit: Hush little fillies don't say a word...and never mind that noise you heard, it's just the beasts under your bed, in your closet in your head!)
15[14:01] * +Karina huffs. Loudly. "They're -tribal-, not raiders." She shakes her head then starts walking in the direction that Storm was aiming.
07[14:01] * +Primer looks up at Desert then down to the group. "Uhm... haven't you forgotten something? Great big axe bearing mummy ghoul."
07[14:01] * +Desert_Storm shrugs and pushes her cloud forward. "All look the same to me."
04[14:01] * +Wraith- rolls his eyes, then follows Karina, going into stealth mode, sneaking up behind her.
07[14:02] * +Keen "We're not going to shoot them." He tries to get a bead on the group with his scope. "Right." He said, looking satisfied before putting it away. "Does anypony else want to try talking to them first?"
07[14:02] * +Primer grabs her thumper between her teeth and flanks the group sneakily. Intent on providing mortar support in case things went to shit.
07[14:03] * +Desert_Storm raises a hoof. "What the hell. Let's talk to them." she says a little lower "If they even speak Equestrian."
07[14:03] * +Fire_Lily sneaks as well, following.
15[14:04] * +Karina continues wakling to the tribals. "Hawana la'ima haja ya kusema Equestrian."
07[14:04] * +Fire_Lily casts her spell to help, even.
04[14:05] * +Desert_Storm doesn't understand why everypony's sneaking. She looks down at the tribals as Karina initiates.
04[14:05] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The group slowly approaches the Tribals, half of them in hiding, as they load their kill onto the cart. Karina is the first to approach, and does so openly. Keen is the only other pony plainly visible, as Storm is up on a cloud and the others are being sneaky. The four tribals not tied to the cart appraoch Karina cautiously, two o them holding out their spears, the other two with throwing hatchets.
07[14:06] * +Wraith- squints his eyes and readies his Fire Axe incase they charge the zebra mare.
04[14:06] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 One of the tribals steps forward and sets his spear down, speaking to Karina. He speaks in a language that is not zebra or equestrian english. It's either a new language, or an old one
07[14:07] * +Keen holds his hooves up. This might get interesting quick. "Easy. Easy. We're not your enemies. We're from Manehattan. Manehattan. My name is Keen." And his name was something weird, apparently.

15[14:08] * +Karina looks at Keen wondering why the heck he was talking at all.

07[14:09] * +Primer is huddling just behind a big rock. Listening in and mumbling. "Well, lets just talk about the weather... then go our separate ways."

07[14:10] * +Fire_Lily failed at sneaking. She's watching from a short distance, but probably they can see her. Or something.
[14:11] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribal shakes his head; "Not heard of Mane Hat In tribe. Where you from?"
04[14:11] * +Keen gives Karina a cross look. "No." He turns back towards the Tribal. "We came from very far away and we just arrived."
07[14:11] * +Wraith- is at the ready, somehow successfully hiding near the zebra mare. Just give this hardened ghoul vet a reason to introduce 'Butcher Pete'.
[14:11] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Tribal tilts his head; "You come long way? What you seek?"
07[14:12] * +Desert_Storm thinks about it for a few seconds. She points a hoof up at the sky. "I'm from up there. Look, we're going to Cloudsdale, and we'd like to get there soon. We'll be on our way now."
[14:13] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Tribal seems confused by Storm's comment; "You come from the heavens? Are you chief then? Or sent as concubine for him;" she points to Keen.
07[14:13] * +Keen tilts his head towards Desert_Storm. "Cloudsdale. Large city in the-" Keen sat there in stunned shock at the Tribal's brash statement before bursting into laughter.

15[14:14] * +Karina sits down and taps her hoof on the ground.
07[14:14] * +Primer tightens her grip on the grenade rifle... shit was going to fly if that Tribal didn't keep her yap in check.

15[14:14] * +Karina looks at the tribal. "Neither one of them are the chief."

07[14:15] * +Keen tries to regain his composure and barely manages it. "Yeah, what the little zebra said. We just travel together."

07[14:15] * +Fire_Lily finds this exchange hilarious. Nopony knows what to say, and it's funny.
07[14:16] * +Wraith- is too focused on the thought of sudden hostility. Somepony had to be at the ready.

07[14:17] * +Keen rose his hooves. "No, no. We're just travelling together." Oh, what was the point? He wouldn't know what it meant. "It's over..." He points in it's direction from memory. "Over there, I think."

[14:18] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Tribal shakes his head again; "Not know Clouds Dale. Only know Splintered Rock."
07[14:18] * +Desert_Storm is getting sick of this. "Okay, sure. Look, we really need to be going now. So, just... have a nice day."
[14:19] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 One of the other tribals, this one a mare, steps in front of Desert Storm, dropping the axe in her teeth; "Not go that way. Dangerous. Splintered Rock home only safe place."
07[14:19] * +Keen sighs. "Look, I'm just looking for my old home. It's over there." Come up with some blessing or something that he would understand. Complement his mane? No. What's a tribal blessing. "May your, uh. May you live long and prosper."
07[14:20] * +Keen perks up a little at that. "Wait, what? Why is it dangerous?"
07[14:20] * +Desert_Storm eyes her dubiously. "What?"
[14:20] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribal stallion follows Keen's point. He nods his agreement with the mare; "That way not safe. You want new find home, you talk to Chief."
07[14:21] * +Desert_Storm looks to Keen with a "Seriously, let's just leave now and leaves these crazy tribal ponies alone" look.
07[14:22] * +Keen snorts out of his nose. "I'm not looking for a new home. I'm looking for something that belonged to me. What's up there that's got you so spooked?"
[14:23] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Tribals look nervous as they glance in that direction; "-She- lives there. She consumes all that trespass. We are only spared for offering her tribute."

07[14:30] * +Wraith- is not entirely sure how a bunch of tribal ponies would take to his ghoulishness. He just continues to sneak and decides to observe any future interactions. Didn't need them to think something stupid...er.

07[14:32] * +Fire_Lily sees Primer approach, and does so as well.
07[14:32] * +Desert_Storm snorts. "Whatever."
04[14:32] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Tribals jump and point their weapons at Primer. They seem, confused, then slightly in awe. "Strange shiny pony..." The mare tilts her head at Karina; "You must not have good chief to not teach how speak with other tribes."
15[14:33] * +Karina follows the Tribals' gaze to Primer. "It's okay, she's with me."
07[14:33] * +Primer walks up and stands beside Keen and Fire_Lily. "Seems okay... they are looking at me oddly though."
07[14:33] * +Keen nuzzles Primer affectionately. "Wonder why that is?"
07[14:33] * +Wraith- tenses and goes wide-eyed at the tribals bearing their weapons on Primer... anxious and anticipant on a conflict to boil over.
15[14:33] * +Karina looks back at the tribal mare. "Well... you're right."
07[14:34] * +Desert_Storm floats off the ground, eager to meet with the Cheif. Maybe negotiations would go smoother with a pony who spoke better Equestrian. And excuse me for not speaking flithy dirt tribal.
04[14:34] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribals seem surprised at Primer, then look to Karina; "Her skin shines and her hooves are made of steel. Is she... a divine one?"
07[14:34] * +Primer rolls her eyes. "Okay, I guess that they aren't used to roboponies."
[14:35] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 At the mention of 'Divine One', two of the tribals actually drop to their knees and bow their heads to Primer

04[14:37] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The rest of the tribals drop into reverent positions at Karina's statement. The lead stallion raises his head; "This is truly a fortuitous day. A stripped pony from distant tribe, two chief children and a Divine One. This must be a sign of things to come."
[14:38] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The mare looks up to Primer as she facehoof; "We meant no offense Divine One."
07[14:38] * +Primer lowers her hoof and looks down at the kneeling ponies. "Uhm... you can stand up you'know... I'm not big on ceremony."
07[14:38] * +Fire_Lily doesn't quite understand what's going on.

15[14:40] * +Karina looks at Desert_Storm. "Really... let me do the talking..." She turns and follows the tribals.
07[14:41] * +Fire_Lily thinks it's all strange, and maybe a little silly.

07[14:42] * +Wraith- trails the group, hanging back somewhat as they haven't gone hostile on their group. Considering how ridiculously superstitious they were, they would probably regard his ghoulish presence as a bad omen of some degree. He does his best to sneak and follow the group, once they follow these dimwits.
[14:42] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribal ponies lead the group to the far side of the valley, the trip talking about an hour. There is an encampment smartly located at the based of a small lake fed by a stream coming down the mountainside. The tribal village is moderate in size, and at first glance, all those who can be seen are Earth Ponies. The six with the party stop just outside. The two hauling the cart continue, taking the game elsewhere
07[14:44] * +Desert_Storm shakes her head. "Whatever. I'm sure you have experience with filth- err... tribals." She wanders off a little, following the ponies with the cart at a distance.
[14:44] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Mare and Stallion that spoke before, who seemed to be mroe comfortable, spoke. "We take you to see Chief. He will want to meet you. The magicians as well."
15[14:45] * +Karina looks up at the mountain stream and smiles wide. She does however manage to peel her eyes away from it and looks at the mare and stallion. "Very good."
07[14:45] * +Primer follows them warily. "I'm not sure about this honey." She gives Keen a glance.
07[14:47] * +Keen looks at the situation at hoof and feels his feathers get all up at end. "I'm not so sure either. Worst comes to worst, my things aren't worth your life. We can go back. We just ask what the heck is up there, we get our answer, and then we start heading to Cloudsdale or home. Sound okay?"
[14:47] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The two ponies who hadn't spoken run off, apparently going around and talking to various locals. The two who had done the speaking lead the party through the village. They get a lot of odd looks, and some of them even bow at the sight of Primer. They stop outside the largets tent, where Two Guards are standing by, each armed with a much more refined looking sword than the tribal spears and axes.

15[14:48] * +Karina follows closely and nods at the guards.
07[14:48] * +Keen pecks her on the cheek. "Good."
07[14:49] * +Primer walks along the group and looks up at the two guards. Her mane started to shift color to an uncertain amber color.
07[14:50] * +Desert_Storm follows the ponies that were pulling the cart from a safe distance. If these were the sacrifices, then she wanted to see what they were sacrificing them to.
04[14:50] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 One of the guards draws his sword, which Karina would recognize as a design favoured by zebras, while the other speaks. "Speak your business with Cheif Boom Stick." The one with the sword has his jaw drop as Primer's mane changes colour.
07[14:50] * +Wraith- being surrounded by potential hostiles with only his military training in stealth to prevent possible disaster reminded him of old times greatly... blinking and shaking his head... for a moment he really believed he was deep within a zebra camp, trying to take out an officer before remembering those days were long gone.

07[14:52] * +Fire_Lily looks warily between the guards. She doesn't trust the tribals to stay docile, despite their momentary reverence.
07[14:52] * +Keen briefly wonders what the stick family tree must look like.
[14:54] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The guards' eyes go wide as they observe Primer; "By the Goddesses, a Divine One! Yes, go in!" The Guards step aside, as do the other two tribals. The Guard hold open the tent flaps reverently
07[14:54] * +Primer walks with the group into the tent. "Maybe I should have changed to the dress..."
15[14:55] * +Karina closes her eyes for a moment and rolls then, then opens them back up and walks into the tent.
[14:57] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Inside the tent is decorate with hides and furs and other trappings that look like symbols of status and power. At the far end atope a chair made of antlers and hide sits the pony that is unmistakably the chief. He is a large, powerful looking Pegasus pony with a rifle propped up against his chair. To his side are seated a Matronly looking Learth Pony Mare, and a young pegasus mare to the other side.
[14:58] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Additionally, three Unicorns stand near the Chief's chair, looking to be in the midst of a discussion
04[14:58] * +Primer looks to Keen and Karina for help.
07[14:58] * +Fire_Lily stays close to Primer.
07[14:58] * +Keen could imagine that Primer's ego was inflating like a balloon with all this attention. "... Honey, do you prefer the fiber optics or would you have preferred to be bald?" He can't believe he never asked that before hoof.
07[14:59] * +Primer 's ego wasn't inflating... not really. She was mostly confused. "I've already said I prefer this to being bald." She whispered to Keen.
07[14:59] * +Wraith- notices that the guards would spot him, regardless how good he was at stealth. Of course a direct approach would be out of the quesiton... but that didn't mean there wasn't alternatives to the predicament. He sneaks his way to the backside of the tent, mindful of his environs and listens in on the voices intently... trying to take note how many others
15[14:59] * +Karina looks up at Primer to meet her gaze and then shifts and sits down and faces the chief, waiting for him to speak.
07[14:59] * +Wraith- - where there and where to make his makeshift entrance.
07[15:01] * +Keen coughs, noticing Primer discomfort and sticks his chest out proudly like a proper gentlecolt. Right. He's a coltfriend now. He needs to act like one. He looks up at the Pegasus and almost can't believe that they still make them anymore. Should he address himself? Is that a thing he should do?
07[15:01] * +Wraith- swaps from 'Butcher Pete' to his combat knife.
[15:02] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Chief looks At the group and stands. The mares next to him fall in behind him. Lastly, the 'Magicians', who are the trio of unicorns, step forward. The talk amongst themselves for a moment, then bow their heads to the newcomers. "Welcome to the abode of Chief Boom Stick. We are his loyal Magicians and Advisors."

[15:21] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Chief looks to his magicians. Two of them step back, but Two-bear's High-Fiving Lights up his horn, dancing lights appearing overhead as the Chief Speaks. "The Devourer is a Demon most wicked. In the generation of my father, she came down from the Sky. A great beast spewing smoke and flame and devouring whole ponies."

07[15:23] * +Desert_Storm thinks about that for a second. From the sky? Smoke and flame? "Aw shit..." she mutters under her breath.

[15:24] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The image of what is obviously a dragon dances in the lights above the group. The Chief continues; "My father, the chief before me, was able to quell her wrath with an offer of tribute. Once a month, we would offer her food so that she would not make a meal of all of us."
[15:26] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The chief looks solemn and saddened; "She still hungers for the flesh of ponies, so, along with each offering of tribute, one of our own must volunteer to become part of the tribute."

07[15:27] * +Keen felt the righteous fury strike in his chest, that old familiar suicidal urge. "... She lives by where Cloudsdale used to be, doesn't she?"

"She lives further along the valley, and does not leave her cave so long as we bring the tribute to Her. Worse still, a few years ago, she began increasing her demand for tribute. We believe she has spawned a brood of her own."

07[15:37] * +Desert_Storm facehoofs. Nope. Later. Out of here. Not getting involved with this. Getting ripped to pieces by a dragon was not on the agenda. "You honestly think we'll stand a chance against that thing?"
07[15:40] * +Keen continues his catching and tossing of the micro-sparkle cell, shifting his attention towards Desert. "There is no such thing as a no-win situation. Unlikely, yes. Impossible? No." He caught it one last time. "And besides, I missed the part where you had to come with. This is completely voluntary."
07[15:41] * +Desert_Storm smiles. "Well, you guys have fun. Let me know how it goes." She makes for the door.
[15:42] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Seer's eyes glow, as does her horn; "A Divine One, and ponies bearing Strange Weapons. This could be an omen that the Devourer's reign is set to end."
07[15:43] * +Fire_Lily is dumbfounded by Keen's complete disregard for safety. "Maybe not impossible to do... but impossible to do without getting hurt!
04[15:43] * +Primer was getting anxious, her mane falling from the relaxed blue to a nervous gray. She whispers into Karina's ear. "Remember last time we went against something strong." She flexed her fingers for emphasis.
07[15:45] * +Keen pulled out his rifle and loaded for Dragon. The rifle sparked with magical fury and made that altogether scary sound again. "... Which is why I'm going to be the tribute."

07[15:45] * +Desert_Storm whistles as she trots from the tent. "Nice knowing you Keen!"

15[16:11] * +Karina looks back at the Chief. "Could you point us in the direction of Her cave so we can scout it ourselves?"
[16:12] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The Chief nods; "If you wish to see the Devourer for yourselves, I can point the way. Do you think perhaps the Divine One can convince her to leave us in peace?"
07[16:12] * +Fire_Lily shakes her head quite forcefully. "No no no no no no... you'll get hurt! There has to be... some other way... No fighting... No fighting!"

07[16:15] * +Primer was gettign irritated. "Keen, honey, I care about you dearly, but when did you suddenly become so kill crazy?"
07[16:16] * +Wraith- is just wondering how exactly they would take a dragon... What type of dragon would this even be?
07[16:16] * +Fire_Lily whispers, "I won't let you be hurt..." She re-casts her Friendship spells, as if to prove her point.
07[16:17] * +Keen looks at Primer with something snapped behind his eyes. "Ever since she moved into -my- old home and started demanding that ponies sacrifice themselves to her and that she's pretending this is the way things should be."
15[16:19] * +Karina looks at the group. "C'mon. Let's go talk to her." She looks at the Chief. "We'll be back." She gets up and walks past the group heads for the flap of the tent.
07[16:19] * +Primer tilts her head. "Right, and you are forgetting that this is a big, eat a pony in one bite, scary dragon." She motioned a hand to Fire_Lily. "Do you wan't to bring her into this fight?"
04[16:21] * +Primer groans. There Kar goes, rushing off. Primer was going to put a leash on that zebra one day.

07[16:23] * +Keen is currently on a roll here. He isn't going to let logic talk him out of it. "I've -fucked- scarier than that." And he was telling a half-truth. As for Lily, well. He sort of regretted saying that in front of her. "... To answer your other question, no. I don't want to. But she's going to sneak off and get over there anyway."
07[16:24] * +Primer hugged Fire_Lily close and comforted her. "I don't know... sometimes we arent a group at all. More like a herd of cats."
04[16:24] * +Desert_Storm opens an eye ask Karina leaves. "So, you going to go kill yourself?"
15[16:27] * +Karina looks over at Desert_Storm as she walks. "We're going to go talk to it."
07[16:28] * +Desert_Storm sits up a little. "Really now? That's what I like to hear. Still, what makes you think it'll be interested in talking?"
07[16:29] * +Primer gets up. "Let's at least go look at what we are up against, we can decide later."
07[16:29] * +Primer walks towards the exit of the tent.
[16:29] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 The tribals still seem dumbfounded
15[16:30] * +Karina continues walking out towards the entrance of the settlement. "It agreed to this deal in the first place, didn't it?"
07[16:30] * +Desert_Storm shrugs. "Have fun. Try not to die."
15[16:30] * +Karina "Not coming?"
07[16:31] * +Fire_Lily knows how the tribals feel. She's still kinda dumbfounded.
07[16:31] * +Desert_Storm thinks about it, long and hard. "I doubt your negotiations will go over well, no offense. You think you could handle it without me if things went south?"
07[16:32] * +Desert_Storm smiles a little.
15[16:32] * +Karina stops and turns back to Desert_Storm. "Honestly? No. We've always needed you."
07[16:34] * +Desert_Storm 's wings flutter and she takes flight. "Well, you haven't done a stellar job of convincing me, but what the hell. I don't have anything better to waste all these bullets on."
07[16:36] * +Keen breathes deeply. Negotiations. Right. Remember your oath. Do no harm. Do no harm. Right.
15[16:38] * +Karina "Yeah and you still hate me." She shakes her head and resumes walking out to the entrance to the settlement.
07[16:38] * +Wraith- is trailing... trailing trailing... trailing aloooooong... waiting to exit this camp of superstitious tribal ponies.

Tribals do tend to make things sound worse than they really are." he turns to Karina and adds, "No offense."
15[16:46] * +Karina looks up at Wraith- for a moment and chews on her tongue. He was right, but it didn't give him or Storm or Keen any right to talk down to them or insult them. She turns her head back and looks down at the cave.

There's gold and gems mixed in, but not all of it is standard treasure. The some metal things, glowing things, and what even looks like an old safe. Around the large hoard/nest are five smaller ones, each holding a miniature copy of the big purple dragon in the middle

07[17:10] * +Wraith- looks at the situation... that was a lot of scaly dragons... he looks at the sizes of the smaller dragons and tries to compare them to the larger one.

07[17:10] * +Keen looks at the bottle, then looks at Primer pleadingly.
15[17:11] * +Karina shakes her head in a 'no' fashion.

07[17:12] * +Wraith- looks for anything in the cave in terms of weapons or armor that might provide some sort of assistance in this situation.

[19:08] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Primer's Grenade flies past Storm as she turns tail and run as the Dragon's bite comes up short of her tail by a hair's breadth. She follows the Grenade with her eyes as it flies into the room.
07[19:08] * +Wraith_ leaps up and bounds after Desert_Storm Axe in mouth, and ready to defend the mare should the dragon actually manage to snap at her.

07[19:20] * +Desert_Storm stumbles to her hooves and clumsily tries to take off again.
[19:20] <@TenMihara|GM> 3 Everypony makes it out of the cave intact, but the Dragon is roaring and screaming from inside
07[19:20] * +Keen draws his rifle and backfloats to make sure that thing didn't come back out.
07[19:20] * +Wraith_ rearms himself with his axe and crouches into a stealth position near the mouth of the cave, standing off to the side, waiting for the creature to come out.
07[19:21] * +Fire_Lily 's shield is long gone now, considering that explosion.
07[19:21] * +Desert_Storm flops to the ground outside and curls up. She's murmuring something softly to herself. Slowly, she crawls slowly behind her rock and pulls out GD with trembling hooves.
07[19:21] * +Fire_Lily thinks it's best to be sneaky as well. She hops off Primer's back when they get to a safe distance and looks for something to hide behind.
07[19:22] * +Primer slides to a halt outside and curses herself for not picking up a minigun or something instead of this shotgun.
