  1. FAQ
  2.
  3. >What is /flag/tism about, anyways?
  4. A general thread made so that anons can discuss about their autistic hobby of collecting flags on a mongolian basket-weaving forum.
  5.
  6. >How do I collect the flag from someone's post?
  7. Click on the flag next to the poster, it will open in a new tab.
  8. All you have to do next, is save the image.
  9.
  10. >What are these "regionals" that you autists keep discussing about?
  11. Regionals are extra flags that can be enabled with which you can display the flags of your state, county, city, etc alongside your default national flag
  12.
  13. >Is the script malicious? How do I know that this is not some botnet? FUCK OFF CIA REEEEEE
  14. The script is not malicious at all, its completely safe to use.
  15. If you're still not convinced you can go to https://github.com/flaghunters/Extra-Flags-for-4chan and look through the script as much as you like.
  16. Its been around for a long ass time and there are lots of regional users on all boards
  17.
  18. >Okay, fine. How do I get regional flags then?
  19. First of all, you need to install the addon TamperMonkey (Chrome) or GreaseyMonkey (FireFox).
  20. Once you've done that, install the Extra Flags Script from https://flaghunters.github.io/Extra-Flags-for-4chan/
  21. After installing the script, open any flag board (/sp/, /pol/, /int/)
  22. A pop-up should appear asking you to set your region.
  23. Once you've selected your region, click on "Save Region"
  24. Upon doing so, refresh the tab and your regions will be enabled and you'll also be able to see the regions set up by other autists like you
  25. NOTE : If you want your regionals to be displayed, you must ALWAYS post from the Quick Reply Box.
  26.
  27. >Oh fug :DDDD, I can't find the region where I live in. What do?
  28. Search if your region has a flag/coat of arms/municipality logo
  29. If you can't find any results on the above mentioned, then sorry pal, you're going to have to make do with the existing regionals
  30. If any of the mentioned things are available, then go to the /flag/tism thread and post your regional name asking for a flag to be made for it.
  31. One of the /flag/tism no-lifers should have your flag ready in no time!
  32.
  33. >FUUUUUCK I SELECTED MY FUCKING REGIONAL, BUT IT SAYS REGION EMPTY! WHAT THE FUCK MAN!
  34. If this error ever happens, try to refresh the page and try again. It could be just a small glitch and it should go away after refreshing
  35. However, if the problem still persists, its most likely because your flag was just moved into a different folder/categorization
  36. This happens a lot in US flags because you faggots have a lot of places with similar names and they end up getting placed in the wrong region so they have to be moved to their actual region. If you search for your flag, you should be able to find it, no worries
  37.
  38. >Okay, what the fuck? Whenever I click on the regional, it searches the region on google instead of opening in a new tab like its supposed to. I WANT TO SAVE THE FLAG REEEEEEEE
  39. Just right click on the flag and click on "save image as" and you should be done.
  40.
  41. >How many regionals are there?
  42. Too many.
  43. Regional flags get updated a lot, with more and more flags pouring in everyday, its pretty hard to gauge the total number of regional flags.
  44.
  45. >How do you guys decide whether a flag is rare or uncommon or frequent or whatever other categories there are?
  46. Based on the total posts made by them and the percentage attendance (the % chance of the flag of showing up in a thread)
  47. You can find more about that over there : http://whatisthisimnotgoodwithcomputers.com/#/flaghunter
  48.
  49. >Is there a flaghunter for regionals too?
  50. No.
  51. Well not yet, at least.
  52.
  53. >What are all these maps that people keep posting on this thread?
  54. Its a world map template filled with their collection of flags. Every time a new flag is "caught", its added to the map template.
  55.
  56. >Is there a reward for completing the map?
  57. You'll get a feeling of accomplishment, something that degenerates like us could never really feel in any other circumstances.
  58.
  59. >Okay, I'm in, how do I start off with this map? Is there a program or do I have to do it manually?
  60. Unfortunately, there's no program to do it, so you'll have to add the flags manually which is a bit time-consuming. You probably weren't going to do something constructive with that time anyways, so it should be fine.
  61. Here's a link to the map template : http://desu-usergeneratedcontent.xyz/int/image/1466/89/1466894055205.png
  62. >Why does no one have Western Sahara in their collection?
  63. Western Sahara, along with Bouvett Island and Heart and McDonald Island have 0 posts on the board so its impossible to get them at this point.
  64.
  65. If you have more queries, you can ask as much as you like on the /flag/tism thread on /int/
