  1. "Just a lonely traveller like yourself," continued the stranger. He stepped out from behind a nearby bush. Jessica recognised him from somewhere but she couldn't quite remember... "Why don't you rest for a while?".
  2.
  3. Jessica didn't trust him, it was something about his deep purple eyes. Then she remembered, her father had told her to stay away from the purple-eyed magician in the moutains. This was Balzar! The evil wizard who wanted to steal her castle. A shiver ran down her spine.
  4.
  5. "You're the castle girl, aren't you?" asked Balzar, with a smile. "I've seen you in the forest many times."
  6. Jessica touched the heavy helmet. She didn't know if she should put it on or throw it at the beast and run away. "Maybe I am," she said nervously.
  7.
  8. "No need to be shy my dear," continued Balzar. "Won't you join me for a delicious drink, I'm sure you're quite exhausted from climbing this big old mountain."
  9. He poured a cup of fizzy green juice and passed it to Jessica before she could answer. She clumsily spilt a little onto her father's helmet and to her horror, she saw the metal melt and bubble. "I... I'm not very thirsty," she stuttered. "Won't you drink some?"
  10. "Me? Er... no, I've already had some," replied Balzar, looking from side to side. Jessica decided she had to act. As quick as a flash she threw her dad's helmet at Balzar. He caught it with both hands and was distracted just long enough for Jessica to throw the deadly potion all over him.
  11. He shouted and screamed and melted into a smelly puddle as green as a rotten cabbage. Tired, excited and relieved, Jessica turned to see the sun shining down onto the stone walls of the castle, which looked tiny.
