  1. VAC is often seen as a minor anti-cheat which is easy to deal with, still several of providers seem to get stroked by VAC ban waves lately, including: chods-cheats.com, aimware.com and many more.
  2.
  3.
  4. When Organner got detected, back last year, VAC choosed to show a new offensive from their side of, which they have kept up.
  5. The true is VAC directly target providers! They buy cheats and illegally reverse them, breaking the terms they accept and data juridstriction laws, to get any kind of information on cheats, to state bans on even the smallest evidence available. So by fact Valve is no better than the cheat providers, when it comes to breaking other companys software. Shouldn't VAC be the ones with good morality and stay on the right side of the laws.?
  6.
  7.
  8. A coder named Menalix gained access to a VAC dev's e-mail, containing all cheat payments made by VAC from October 2013 to May 2014 and a full chatlog containing 80% of VAC's work in that period.
  9.
  10.
  11. All e-mails (including paypal payments) as .mbox backup file:

  14. Chatlog between two VAC devs containing almost all their work:

  18. No wonder cheat providers got problems, with VAC's hand stuck up their asses.
  19.
  20. Beside that VAC is aggressive, checking a lot of stuff on peoples computers:
  21. Boot configuration, USN journal traversing, processes running, dns checking, file scanning, uploading(stealing) suspecious processes, ETW trace logging, driver traversing and even much more.
  22. Should you be scared? Well VAC is like valve having a backdoor installed to your pc practically, so be aware and remember to close steam when not in use.
  23.
  24.
  25. So is all this a problem, they detect a big amount of cheats and provides a more cheat clean game?
  26. I think personally its a problem, stealing so much information from an end-user who might just be innocent, especially when we all can watch how EasyAntiCheat prevents 90% of all cheats, without digging into end-users infromation, why can't VAC go to such meassures instead of doing it this kind of bad way.

  28. Let the discussion start! :)
