Mini 7.2: The Brief

[19:56] <Champion> Anto and Tania are swept off their feet by their swift collection by a squad of S2 agents escorted back to the lounge. This time though, three S2 Agents have been posted to keep and eye on them, and Mr. Harper is no where in sight.
[19:57] <Champion>  A large TV has been placed strategically against one wall, with a couch opposite it for various NERV technicians on break. A small kitchen, stocked with a fridge and other appliances sits unused, while a pinball machine is untouched. With Caesar gone, the pool table is usable now. To the north is the only real entrance into the corridors of Nerv, while to the east is a small doorway only
[19:57] <Champion> meant to be used in the case of fires.
[20:00] * Anto_Belac gives a short yelp and falls onto his bottom. "Ah I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to disobey I just wanted to m-make sure she was okay -" he cuts off abruptly, face coated in fear.
[20:03] * Tania_Clarke is nonplussed by this turn of events and wordlessly goes sit on the couch like she did a scant hour ago.
[20:05] <Champion> The men simply continue to watch over the three of them worldessly. Two turn their backs to the children and move to guard the corridor outside, while the third keeps his watch inside.
[20:08] <Anto_Belac> "A-Arrr," his face slackens. He stares up at Tania, then quickly looks away and scrabbles into some sort of nearby seat.
[20:09] <Champion> Ten minutes later, Harper appears in the room silently. "Both of you, we need to speak," he announces intimidatingly. Pulling up a chair, the large man sits himself next to the couch Anto and Tania are resting upon.
[20:10] * Tania_Clarke quetly regards him.
[20:10] * Anto_Belac somberly regards the tooth in his hands.

[20:16] <Champion> Mr. Harper sighs deeply. His normally deep and calm voice has been affected by a note of worry, and there is a hint of exhaustion as he says, "Your guardian, Mr Raczkowski went on a mission on behalf of NERV after the Angel fight. He has been wounded in the line of duty." His words are straight forward and frank, unabashed as he explains the situation.
[20:17] * Anto_Belac freezes momentarily, nods at Harper, returns to regarding his tooth.
[20:17] * Tania_Clarke blinks.
[20:17] <Tania_Clarke> "...how gravely?"
[20:19] <Champion> "Doctor Izuna gives him a fighting chance. We're doing our best to keep Doctor Faust away from him, so we're pretty sure he'll survive the night," he says solemnly.
[20:20] <Champion> Doctor Faust, being a euphemism for death around NERV Manhattan. Of course, he could be speaking literally as well.

[20:26] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[20:26] * Tania_Clarke lowers her gaze.
[20:27] <Tania_Clarke> "...this could affect our combat readiness."
[20:29] <Champ> The head of S2 almost glares at her, before realizing this be her way of coping. "Yeah, I suppose it might. For now, we have you under guard to ensure nothing happens to either of you two."
[20:29] * Anto_Belac nods lightly. His gaze does not turn from the tooth.
[20:31] * Tania_Clarke looks up at him.
[20:31] <Tania_Clarke> "Is... HQ security compromised?"
[20:31] <Champ> "Either of you two have anything you want to ask me?" he offers. The man is obviously not used to comforting others, but when the saviors of the world needs it, he'll try.
[20:32] <Champ> "We do not believe so. Some of the information gathered on the mission was, disconcerting though," Harper comes to admit.
[20:34] <Tania_Clarke> "...how so?"
[20:34] <Champ> His gaze turns steely, and the man looks each of you in the eys sternly. "We've learned that a rival organization has placed spies in contat with the pilots. I was wondering if either of you knew anything you could report."
[20:36] * Tania_Clarke ponders. "How recently?"
[20:39] <Champ> "We are unsure. It could be from the arrival of Anto and Jack, to years back. All we know at this point is there has been a regular feed of information on your movements, as well as other things. Our current speculation leads us to believe they're planning on using the pilots to get close to NERV," he explains. Spies are nothing new to Harper; it's his job to deal with them. Spies that
[20:39] <Champ> targetted the pilots, whose identities were supposed to eb secret though...
[20:41] * Tania_Clarke ponders for a few seconds.
[20:41] <Tania_Clarke> "Hm... then there shouldn't be problems. Aside from the possibility of actively attacking us, the pilots, there's no way any of us would be foolish enough to reveal sensi-"
[20:41] * Tania_Clarke stops mid sentence.
[20:43] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[20:44] <Champ> Harper's interest is piqued. "What is it?" he half asks, half orders gruffly.
[20:46] * Tania_Clarke glances at Anto for the briefest instant.
[20:46] <Tania_Clarke> "...perhaps the new arrivals should be subjected to a communications blackout."
[20:48] * Anto_Belac somberly stares at the tooth in his hands and nods.
[20:48] <Champ> The man turns his head to Anto, and begins to scrutinize the boy. "..You may be right about that," Mr. Harper says in agreement.
[20:48] <Champ> "Now, where the hell is Caesar?" he asks, swtiching subjects abruptly.
[20:48] <Tania_Clarke> "...the First?"
[20:49] * Ugolino is now known as Corrin
[20:52] <Champ> "No, we have Jack under guard at the moment as well," Harper explains, his concern growing. "Hopefully Faust hasn't gotten his hands on him..."
[20:53] * Anto_Belac perks his ears up slightly. "Jack is a bit brash," he mutters as he continues staring.
[20:54] <Tania_Clarke> "...hm."
[20:54] <Tania_Clarke> "As for Caesar, he goes where he pleases."
[20:56] * Anto_Belac mutters something about a wily serpent.
[21:05] <Champ> "Indeed. Now, until Leon recovers, you and Jack shall be moved into the base. Thi sis for your own safety, as neither of you are prepared to live on your own yet. Especially in light the news we've recieved," Harper explains to Anto. Turning to Tania, he goes on to add, "As will you, though you will coninute to live with your grandfather. This is less due to safety, and more due to recent...
[21:05] <Champ> circumstances."
[21:05] <Champ> "Any questions?"
[21:06] * Tania_Clarke shakes her head.
[21:06] * Anto_Belac does not respond.
[21:15] <Champ> "Good," Harper states. The man rises from his seat and turns to leave without another word. "Go ahead and enjoy yourselves here while you can," the he orders at the doorway. Mr. Harper exits the room, and leaves you both for the corridors of NERV and beyond.
[21:17] <Tania_Clarke> "...that settles it." The girl mutters to herself.
[21:18] <Anto_Belac> "Hmm?" Anto tilts his head to look at her.
[21:19] * Tania_Clarke closes her eyes and immerses herself in her thoughts.
