  1. >Day Sleepover in Equestria.
  2. >Resting your head on your bed, you watch as Mumble sets up her sleeping bag.
  3. >Your mom is at the doorway, ready to turn off the light.
  4. >”I hope you had fun Mumble, I know Timber did.”
  5. >Sighing, you turn around, silently expressing your annoyance.
  6. >”O-Oh, or not... Um, if you aren't one hundred percent sure, we could still put you with the other girls for the night.”
  7. >Mumble looks to your mom, shaking her head.
  8. >”Okay then... you two have a safe, quiet night. If you need anything; Anon, Lyra, or I will be right in the other room.”
  9. “We know, night mom!”
  10. >She squeaks.
  11. >”Night sweetie, make sure not to let the bed bugs bite.”
  12. >The moment Mumble lies down, the light goes off.
  13. >Cast in utter darkness, you feel uncomfortable.
  14. >You get out of bed, walking towards the window and lifting the shade.
  15. >The moon provides a little light, but it's better than nothing.
  16. >You get back in bed, the sound of your sisters' and their friends' squeals and laughs barely making it through the walls.
  17. >Fluffing your pillow, you rest your head.
  18. >”... Timber?”
  19. >You turn back around, facing your friend.
  20. “Yeah Mumble?”
  21. >”... Thanks for inviting me over.”
  22. >Adjusting yourself, you correct her.
  23. “Hope and Ivy invited you to spend the night, not me.”
  24. >”Yeah... but you were okay with letting me sleep in your room.”
  25. >Closing your eyes, you relax.
  26. “Why wouldn't I be?”
  27. >She goes silent, her usual response when she doesn't know what to say.
  28. >Guess you're done for the night.
  29. >Letting your breaths calm, you feel soft, warm... peaceful.
  30.
  31.
  32. “... Timber?”
  33. >He doesn't respond.
  34. >Must have fallen asleep...
  35. >Rubbing your face, you get out of your sleeping bag and walk to the side of his bed.
  36. >The other girls are still up.
  37. >Looking for a clock, you can barely make out that it's pressing on eleven.
  38. >Sighing you look to Timber.
  39. “I just wanted to say... thanks... for being my friend.”
  40. >Clasping your hands together, you start to rub and fidget with them.
  41. “Everyone thinks I am quiet because I don't like them or I hate them... guess me saying that all the time doesn't help, does it?”
  42. >You make sure he is still sleeping, that his breathing hasn't hanged.
  43. “They're wrong... I'm just... I keep to myself. I think you're the only one who knows this, but you still hang out with me.”
  44. >Letting off a soft chuckle, you smile a bit.
  45. “I wish I was more like my brother... just able to make friends with everyone. I'm not though...”
  46. >You sniffle a bit, looking to your younger friend.
  47. “How pathetic is this? My only real friend is a boy who is as thick as cement and I can't even talk to him about this wile he's awake.”
  48. >Tearing up a bit, you hug yourself.
  49. “I just wish someone would like me for me.”
  50. >The door creaks a bit, causing you to swallow your heart and look to the source.
  51. >Hope is there, alone.
  52. >She walks in and closes the door.
  53. >You stutter a bit, trying to make an excuse for what's going on.
  54. >She shushes you, whispering.
  55. >”Mumble, I didn't hear much of what you said, but you should know that you do have someone who like you for you.”
  56. >She points to Timber, who is still sleeping soundly.
  57. >”Don't worry about being more like your brother, just worry about being more like you. Timber likes you for you, so you're doing something right.”
  58. >You nod, just wanting this embarrassing moment to be over.
  59. >”There is nothing wrong with you, don't let anyone tell you that. Not even yourself.”
  60. >She smiles, hugging you once before sneaking to the door.
  61. >Once outside, you hear Ace yell out.
  62. >”Hope! What's taking so long?”
  63. >”Sorry girls! Can't find the chips!”
  64. >The sound of hoofsteps receding is all that you hear afterwords.
  65. >Looking back to Timber, you think on what Hope said.
  66. >He's been your friend for a long time.
  67. >Always hanging out with you, playing with you...
  68. >You even heard he got into a fight with Garrett because he was making fun of you.
  69. >... Maybe she's right.
  70. >Just a little at least.
  71. >Sighing, you decide it's too late at night to do this kind of deep thinking.
  72. >You are about to head to your sleeping bag when you stop.
  73. “... Thanks Timber.”
  74. >Looking at the pink haired Satyr boy, you lean in and give him a soft kiss, pressing your lips against his.
  75. “For liking me for me.”
  76. >With that, you head towards our sleeping bag, feeling just a bit better about yourself.
