- >Day Sleepover in Equestria.
- >Resting your head on your bed, you watch as Mumble sets up her sleeping bag.
- >Your mom is at the doorway, ready to turn off the light.
- >”I hope you had fun Mumble, I know Timber did.”
- >Sighing, you turn around, silently expressing your annoyance.
- >”O-Oh, or not... Um, if you aren't one hundred percent sure, we could still put you with the other girls for the night.”
- >Mumble looks to your mom, shaking her head.
- >”Okay then... you two have a safe, quiet night. If you need anything; Anon, Lyra, or I will be right in the other room.”
- “We know, night mom!”
- >She squeaks.
- >”Night sweetie, make sure not to let the bed bugs bite.”
- >The moment Mumble lies down, the light goes off.
- >Cast in utter darkness, you feel uncomfortable.
- >You get out of bed, walking towards the window and lifting the shade.
- >The moon provides a little light, but it's better than nothing.
- >You get back in bed, the sound of your sisters' and their friends' squeals and laughs barely making it through the walls.
- >Fluffing your pillow, you rest your head.
- >”... Timber?”
- >You turn back around, facing your friend.
- “Yeah Mumble?”
- >”... Thanks for inviting me over.”
- >Adjusting yourself, you correct her.
- “Hope and Ivy invited you to spend the night, not me.”
- >”Yeah... but you were okay with letting me sleep in your room.”
- >Closing your eyes, you relax.
- “Why wouldn't I be?”
- >She goes silent, her usual response when she doesn't know what to say.
- >Guess you're done for the night.
- >Letting your breaths calm, you feel soft, warm... peaceful.
- “... Timber?”
- >He doesn't respond.
- >Must have fallen asleep...
- >Rubbing your face, you get out of your sleeping bag and walk to the side of his bed.
- >The other girls are still up.
- >Looking for a clock, you can barely make out that it's pressing on eleven.
- >Sighing you look to Timber.
- “I just wanted to say... thanks... for being my friend.”
- >Clasping your hands together, you start to rub and fidget with them.
- “Everyone thinks I am quiet because I don't like them or I hate them... guess me saying that all the time doesn't help, does it?”
- >You make sure he is still sleeping, that his breathing hasn't hanged.
- “They're wrong... I'm just... I keep to myself. I think you're the only one who knows this, but you still hang out with me.”
- >Letting off a soft chuckle, you smile a bit.
- “I wish I was more like my brother... just able to make friends with everyone. I'm not though...”
- >You sniffle a bit, looking to your younger friend.
- “How pathetic is this? My only real friend is a boy who is as thick as cement and I can't even talk to him about this wile he's awake.”
- >Tearing up a bit, you hug yourself.
- “I just wish someone would like me for me.”
- >The door creaks a bit, causing you to swallow your heart and look to the source.
- >Hope is there, alone.
- >She walks in and closes the door.
- >You stutter a bit, trying to make an excuse for what's going on.
- >She shushes you, whispering.
- >”Mumble, I didn't hear much of what you said, but you should know that you do have someone who like you for you.”
- >She points to Timber, who is still sleeping soundly.
- >”Don't worry about being more like your brother, just worry about being more like you. Timber likes you for you, so you're doing something right.”
- >You nod, just wanting this embarrassing moment to be over.
- >”There is nothing wrong with you, don't let anyone tell you that. Not even yourself.”
- >She smiles, hugging you once before sneaking to the door.
- >Once outside, you hear Ace yell out.
- >”Hope! What's taking so long?”
- >”Sorry girls! Can't find the chips!”
- >The sound of hoofsteps receding is all that you hear afterwords.
- >Looking back to Timber, you think on what Hope said.
- >He's been your friend for a long time.
- >Always hanging out with you, playing with you...
- >You even heard he got into a fight with Garrett because he was making fun of you.
- >... Maybe she's right.
- >Just a little at least.
- >Sighing, you decide it's too late at night to do this kind of deep thinking.
- >You are about to head to your sleeping bag when you stop.
- “... Thanks Timber.”
- >Looking at the pink haired Satyr boy, you lean in and give him a soft kiss, pressing your lips against his.
- “For liking me for me.”
- >With that, you head towards our sleeping bag, feeling just a bit better about yourself.
