Look down upon yourself,
What do you see?
Are you a God?
Or complex prithee?
No strings attached,
Quite laissez faire,
Quite unimpressive,
Putting on airs,

All independent,
Always know best,
Is that a beating -
heart in your chest?
Talking from stilts,
Stilted delivery,
Oh, how it lilts,
Though wilted and shivery,

Putting on 'muffs,
Of tender creation,
Drown out a truth,
Suspend animation,
Plasma to plasma,
Dust to dust,
They try, but concede,
Not ever so fussed,

It matters not much,
Much time has passed,
Now do you know?
Perhaps now at last?
Or art thou content,
In this cool verdant day,
To keep up façade?
To embrace disarray?
