- * Dr_Lias is alone, a rare sight, the gazelle sipping her coffee at the local starbucks in quiet contemplation. She doesn't seem to notice the two deer entering the store, the gazelle too preoccupied for the moment.
- 11:53:14Dr_Lias
- <Oh, we're doing it in here incase Lithe shows up later>
- 11:53:41
- * Balthazar stops and sees the gazelle. "Oh, there she is again." He approaches her quietly. "Excuse me, madame?" he asks pleasantly. "I don't wish to interrupt you, I just had a few questions."
- 11:58:46
- * Dr_Lias blinks, turning to him. "Yes?" she frowns slightly. "If you wish to make an appointment, I have a phone number."
- 11:59:28Balthazar
- He blinks. "Oh. Um... sorry, I didn't know about that. I was just interested in your threads."
- 12:02:28Dr_Lias
- "My... threads?" she tilts her head. "I bought these at a store. I wasn't aware my sense of fashion was anything special."
- 12:03:57Balthazar
- "Oh, no, not those..." He says. "I mean the threads..." He makes a vague waving motion in the air. "You probably can't see them. But I saw you the other day with someone. He's not here right now, I see," he says, looking off in a random direction. "But what I saw was very intriguing."
- 12:06:35
- * Dr_Lias stares at him for a long moment. "I see... you may require my assistance. Would you be interested in booking an appointment with me? I'm willing to offer a discount price. You really should consider it."
- 12:06:53Dr_Lias
- Adel frowns. "Exactly what is this woman trying to sell you, Balthazar?"
- 12:07:31Balthazar
- "I'm really not sure," he says, frowning and looking at Adel with a concerned expression. "Did I say something rude?"
- 12:11:06
- * Dr_Lias crosses her arms. "I'm not sure what you're getting at. These 'threads' you speak of, I can't see them. Are they cobwebs?"
- 12:12:39Balthazar
- "Hmmm... They're not quite as messy as a cobweb. But they're everywhere. They comprise the material and metaphysical essence of things, and they draw connections. I was curious when I saw you the the other day because it seemed that every one of your threads was drawn and attached to the person you were with. And I've never seen that before. Strong connections, yes, but something so all-encompassing? That's very new."
- 12:13:39Dr_Lias
- "...What business is that of yours, exactly?" she looks offended. "My connection to him is none of your concern."
- 12:14:26Balthazar
- "Oh! I'm terribly sorry. I'm afraid I don't know when I'm being rude." He turns to Adel. "I'll have to work on that." He turns back to Adel. "My apologies, madame. I'm afraid my curiosity got the better of my manners. I'll be going, then."
- 12:17:17Dr_Lias
- "Hmph," she says crossly, returning to her phone. "Am I only ever going to be considered in relation to him...?" she shakes her head. "It's like I hold no value of my own. I suppose he'll be curious where I've gotten off to, as well..." she sighs. Adel frowns at her. "You should learn some manners, lady! He wasn't trying to cause offence!"
- 12:21:32Balthazar
- "Adel, please, if I said something upsetting, then I think that's probably my fault. I think. I admit I'm not the best-versed on these matters of etiquette..."
- 12:22:06
- ((Out of curiosity, what handle do you go by on fimfiction? If you do go by a handle there))
- 12:22:28Dr_Lias
- <Post Script, though I don't write anymore>
- 12:22:54Balthazar
- ((Ahh))
- 12:23:15Dr_Lias
- "Are you two still here? Fine. I was done here anyway," Lias says stiffly, getting up and leaving.
- 12:23:50
- <I think she's depressed, identity issues and whatnot>
- 12:24:03Balthazar
- He blinks, watching as she goes. "Oh, right... I should probably have left first."
