  56. Ka Weight: 50
  57. Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
  58. Can Target Denizens
  59.
  60. The typical punch is a standard kata action.
  61.
  62.
  63. Syntax: KA SYNTAX [ON/OFF]
  64. As you learn more attacks in Kata, you will be prompted with their proper syntax if you mess up entering the command properly. If you do not wish for these prompts then you can use KA SYNTAX OFF to suppress it.
  65.
  66. Syntax: KA MOMENTUMMSG [ON/OFF]
  67. As you gain and lose momentum from Kata attacks, you will be notified. To turn this off/on, use KA MOMENTUMMSG ON/OFF.

  82. KATA - FORMS
  83.
  84. Syntax: KATA STUDY <form name> <momentum>
  85. KATA FORMS
  86. KATA FORGET <form name> <momentum>
  87. KATA DEVELOP <form name> <momentum> ACTION <action #> <commands>
  88. KATA DEVELOP <form name> <momentum> ACTION <action #> NONE
  89. KATA DEVELOP <form name> <momentum> MODIFIERS <modifier list>
  90. KATA DEVELOP <form name> <momentum> MODIFIERS NONE
  91. KATA REVIEW <form name>
  92. KATA PERFORM <target> <form #1> [<form #2>] [<form #3>] ...
  93. KATA TERMINATE
  94. KATA TEACH <form name> TO <person>
  95. KATA COPY <form name> TO <new form name>
  96. KATA RENAME <form name> TO <new form name>
  97.
  98. As you progress in kata and its specializations, you can develop more
  99. and more of your own personal kata forms. To make a new form, begin with
  100. KATA STUDY and to forget a form, use KATA FORGET. KATA FORMS will list
  101. all of your forms. KATA REVIEW <form> will review a specific form. The
  102. actions are the same as any KA attacks, minus the KA and target. For
  103. example, KA PUNCH GALT HEAD LEFT would translate to an action as PUNCH
  104. HEAD LEFT. You can add modifiers with later skills. You can execute any
  105. sequence of forms. Each form must have a ka value at or below the
  106. maximum ka you can hold, based on your momentum (see below for details
  107. on momentum). In addition, the max number of forms you can have in a
  108. sequence is capped based on skill rank in Kata.
  109.
  110.
  111. To perform kata maneuvers, you execute KATA PERFORM. You can link
  112. several forms together if you wish, or execute a single form at a time.
  113. The advantage of linking forms is that they will become faster and
  114. faster. After the third form you can change to a new sequence of
  115. forms without interupting your speed boost.
  116.
  117. You can TERMINATE a sequence before it is finished to stop the sequence.
  118.
  119. To teach forms to others, you can use KATA TEACH.
  120.
  121.
  122. MOMENTUM
  123.
  124. Monks must build momentum in order to do the most powerful attacks in
  125. kata forms. Every time a kata form successfully strikes an opponent,
  126. your momentum increases. If you go too long without a hit then your
  127. momentum will falter. Every kata attack has a ka cost associated with
  128. it. The sum total ka costs you can use in a kata form may not surpass
  129. this maximum:
  130.
  131. Momentum Max ka
  132. 1 250
  133. 2 350
  134. 3 450
  135. 4 750
  136. 5 1000
  137. 6 1500*
  138. * Note that you can only gain and maintain up to momentum to level 5.
  139. Momentum level 6 will become obtainable in later Kata skills that let
  140. you temporarily boost your momentum.
  141.
  142. Your momentum level is displayed on your prompt as: 1mo, 2mo, 3mo, etc,
  143. where the initial number is your momentum level. Switching targets will
  144. cause momentum to drop by a maximum of two. The first attack against a
  145. new target will be treated as if the momentum was already dropped for
  146. purposes of max ka available.
  147.
  148. Every form can have variations tied to momentum levels up to level 6.
  149. When performing a form, you will perform the best variation possible for
  150. your current momentum. Every form must at least have a variation for
  151. momentum level 1.
  152.
  153. For example, you can create a form with two momentum levels like this:
  154. KATA STUDY SMITE 1
  155. KATA STUDY SMITE 4
  156.
  157. Then you can fill in the desired attacks and modifiers using the KATA
  158. DEVELOP syntax for momentum level 1, and also for level 4. Now if you
  159. perform SMITE against a foe and are at momentum level 4 or higher then
  160. you will perform the attack defined for that variation of the form. If
  161. lower then it will fall back to the attacks defined for momentum level
  162. 1.
  163.
  164. Lastly, if you wish to have a form that just does one thing for high
  165. levels of ka, you can do this. Just make it momentum level 1. It will
  166. still be attempted if your current momentum is 1 or higher (in other
  167. words, always). It will merely fail to execute if you don't have
  168. enough Ka when trying to perform the attack.

  173. KA RELEASE
  174. Kata: Action
  175. Ka Weight: 150
  176.
  177. A basic grapple. Binds your target with your arm. Unlike most grapples you will learn in the future, this grapple will prevent the target from standing.
  178.
  179. This move will cause you to sustain, but not gain, momentum.

  182. KATA - DEFLECT
  183.
  184. Syntax: KA DEFLECT LEFT|RIGHT|NONE
  185.
  186. You can focus attention on one hand to deflect incoming blows. When struck on that arm, you will automatically and quietly deflect the blow slightly, thereby reducing the damage taken. You will also deflect blows to your head, chest, and gut, though not as effectively.

  191. Kata: Action
  192. Ka Weight: 50
  193.
  194. If your target is in some grapple, you can throw him to the ground,
  195. damaging and possibly stunning him in the process. A prone target will
  196. be more susceptible to damage from punches and kicks.

  223. Bodypart: Head, Chest, Gut, Rarm, Larm, Rleg, Lleg
  224.
  225. A grapple that locks and disables a specific body part. For bodyparts
  226. that aren't directly affected by locking, such as the head, chest, or
  227. gut, it opens up advanced techniques you will learn later.
  228.
  229. This move will cause you to sustain, but not gain, momentum.

  323. Syntax: TATTOOS ARMOUR
  324.
  325. A monk's proficiency of manipulating ka energy has extended their
  326. expertise to boosting the defensive effects of tattoos. A monk with
  327. tattoos can channel the ka energy inherent in the mystical patterns to
  328. turn aside weaponry, providing mystical armour.
  329.
  330. The amount of armour provided depends on the total amount of tattoo
  331. weight inked on the monk's body. A fully inked monk will have 60/60
  332. armour. This rating can be further increased if the monk has also fully
  333. transcended the art of Tattoos.
  334.
  335. Additionally, any tattoos with the damage absorption power will confer a
  336. 2/7 resistance benefit instead of the usual 1/5.
  337.
  338. None of the above will apply if any form of apparel with armour (like
