- Due to some accident while he was too young to remember, Zeke Arvad grew up with his grandfather, a retired military man. He taught Zeke all he knows about hunting, survival, and bows. With said knowledge, he was able to make an honest living as a hunter when he moved out of his grandfather's home. His life wasn't exactly glamorous but it was simple, which he could appreciate. That was until he decided to try mercenary work for some quick coin.
- While in town during one of his supply runs he spotted a poster asking for an escort to protect a merchant caravan from bandits. In hindsight, he should've listened to his gut when it told him something was wrong; but he'd just chalked it up to nerves about a totally different job. As it turned out, the "merchants" he'd been hired to protect were smugglers on the run and he had made himself an outlaw by siding with them.
- He was quick to go into hiding when he discovered this. Using his survival skills he was able to live off the land and could easily spend the rest of his life doing so. However, that changed when he decided to check out a seemingly abandoned village.
