When you helped that guy last night it reminded me of the time I convinced my friend to help me win back my girlfriend. See, she had helped get us together. They were best friends since childhood. I fell for her so hard; from the first moment I saw her walking in that green dress, the whole world around her faded to gray.

I had never loved anything before. I don't love my mother, or my sisters. I don't even love myself. But I loved her, the world felt like a real place for the first time in my life. I didn't wonder why I existed anymore because it was clear. I knew I had found the person that I will always find, I knew it was fate, it was perfect. Except, she didn't agree. She left me.

I told my friend, the one who had introduced us, how I felt. I told her that even though years had passed that every day I woke up and wondered why I was still alive. I didn't understand why my heart would keep beating once my soul had been ripped out of me. I told her that I hoped I'd die soon because I knew I'd find her in my next life. She would forget my mistakes and I'd get another chance--that's all I wanted.

When she heard this she vowed to help me get her back. I had to explain to her that I didn't want her to help me. I didn't want her to lose her friend. Love, once lost, cannot be regained though all the effort on earth is applied to it. You have to move through the hourglass of time, wait. In this life I can't have her back.
