A Taste of Harmony

>You awake as the sun creeps onto your face.
>Today is the day.
>Now you have to choose which pony.
>You sit up and walk to the bathroom for your morning routine.
>A little nod is given to your reflection before heading downstairs.
>Although it may be hard to break five hearts, it's going to be amazing to fall in love with one.
>You make yourself a bowl of cereal and then eat it at the table.
>A knock is heard as soon as you finish.
>Well.
>This is it.
>After putting the bowl and spoon back in the sink, you answer the door to be greeted by all six of them.
>Rather than being rude and declaring your decision as they stand outside, you invite them in.
>They all take a seat somewhere in the room.
>Pinkie, Twilight, and Fluttershy sit on the couch.
>Rarity sits on the cushioned chair, Applejack sits on the floor, and Rainbow Dash would prefer flying.
>All of them look nervous.
>You shut the door and walk to them.
>They all are staring at you intensely, each hoping to spend the rest of their days with you.
>They're gonna be so sad...
>NO.
>Don't think about that!
>Think about now!
>RIGHT NOW!
"Alright. Every day I've spent with each of you gals was special in its own individual way. I feel like we've grown closer to each other. Closer than we've ever been before. But one of you I feel I am the closest to."
>They are all leaning in practically holding their tongues to tell you to spit it out already.
>You close your eyes and take a deep breath.
>Here we go.
>Open your eyes and look to each one of them.
"Girls... There's something I have to tell you."
>They all lean in, now a little more interested.
"I really... I mean... How do I say this?"
>You look back up at them.
"Can you all come closer?"
>They do so and form a mini circle around you.
"I told some of you this... That I don't want to break any of your hearts."
>A few nod.
"And I was thinking about it more last night. Each one of you is different in your own way. Each one of you have a different special talent or way to make me feel good."
>You look to Pinkie.
"Whether it's making me laugh."
>Next to Fluttershy who blushes and looks away.
"Being kind to me."
>Then to Applejack who takes off her hat and holds it to her chest with a warm smile.
"Always being truthful."
>You look to Rainbow who avoids eye contact while acting almost as timid as Fluttershy for a second.
"Being forever loyal."
>Now to Rarity who is rubbing one of her forelegs with a slight blush on her face.
"Being extremely generous."
>Lastly to Twilight who doesn't know what to expect.
"Or keeping me organized and putting extra thought into things to make them special."
>Your arms reach out and you pull them in for a group hug.
"All of you... Complete me."
>They all look to you half knowing what you are about to say next.
"I love you all. I choose you all."
>Rainbow breaks away from the hug and flies up, defiantly staring back down at you.
>"But how is that gonna work?! Aren't we just back in the same place we were before?! Trying to compete for your love?!"
>Applejack stands and looks eye to eye with you.
>"Ah hate to say it, but that sounds 'bout right. We're right back where we started."
>Before the rest can rebel, you attempt to explain.
"Now hold on a minute. Before, I didn't want it. Now that I want it, I will be more easily swayed to love all of you."
>It takes a few minutes for the gears in their minds to begin turning.
>"So... What yer tellin' me... Is that you'll love all of us equally?"
"Yes. Although the time ahead of us will be filled with a bit of jealousy, just know that I love each and every one of you the same."
>Rainbow slowly descends, still looking a bit angry she doesn't have you all to herself and Applejack comes back over.
"I love all of you, my little ponies."
>They all gather for a second group hug.
>No hearts broken.
>This one is filled with happiness.
>This is truly a taste of harmony.
