Redemption

Where to start? Even though my character is almost a decade old I have only ever actually played the game in small stretches followed by long periods of absence. The reason for this is simple, time and again I would be lured by the idea and potential of EvE and every time I quit because I was bored to tears from mining, missioning and yes, even station trading.

No, this isn't right, this isn't what EvE is supposed to be like, I would say to myself and let my subscription expire again and again. Oh I tried low/nullsec Savior, truly I did but even there I found myself in the presence of endless mining ops with approximately 0 player interaction aside from the fleet booster demanding everyone KEEP MINING!!

I am writing you to thank you from the depths of my soul for it was finding minerbumping.com that opened my eyes to that which is killing EvE and indeed forced me to confront the fact that I was as much to blame as any Ice Field bot-fleet. The mindless accumulation of ISK, absent any player interaction outside of Jita scammers and the occasional CEO demanding more tax income.

And so I read the Code, meditated on it and embraced its truth and glory. Yesterday I renewed my subscription, fit my Catalyst and went on my pilgrimage. I searched for many hours to find a suitable target for my Baptism by CONCORD until finally I stumbled on an AFK pod, sitting at a jumpgate. I testify now, at that moment I felt the Code, I thought to myself "why would anyone think it would be a good idea to sit AFK, out in the open and in a Golden Pod ( Kill: Treyso Banza Alabel (Capsule - Genolution 'Auroral' 197-variant ) in a PvP game?".

Seeing that pod I knew what had to be done, I got in range, locked the pod and opened fire. Bursts of antimatter flowed forth and brought justice to this bot aspirant, the cracking of his pod signalling my inevitable Baptism.

When I linked my first kill and my loss to CONCORD I was welcomed with open arms by all, though by one Agent in particular, that Agent being the noble Bellatrix Invicta. For despite the lamentations of bot-aspirants and anti-gankers it was Agents who were the most welcoming, open and willing to help out of any group of people I have ever come into contact with in EvE.

The afternoon after my Baptism I was graciously invited by Bellatrix Invicta to join in on an enforcement roam. The Agent had spotted an AFK Venture and used it as a valuable lesson on some of the finer points of Code enforcement. Under the guidance of this Agent I was able to not only decomission the offending Venture Kill: Biscotto Pappotte (Venture) but also shatter its pod Kill: Biscotto Pappotte (Capsule).
