- >Another day in paradise.
- >At least maybe it would be if not for...
- "My fucking bitch of a girlfriend!"
- >The cyan peagus hurled a plate at you head.
- >She misses and hits the wall behind you, shattering into a million pieces of ceramic.
- >"Don't fucking talk to me like that, asshole!"
- >The years you've been with Rainbow Dash have lead to her picking up on your swears and curses.
- >She has another plate in her hooves.
- >You take two giant steps towards her and wrap your hands around her forehooves while pushing her against the kitchen wall.
- "Don't even fucking try it!"
- >She spits in your face.
- >You growl and tighten your grip on her.
- >More shouting, more struggling, more reasons to just fucking leave.
- >Tense minutes pass like this in the dim kitchen.
- >"What are you going to do fucking hit me again, Anon? Do it! I fucking dare you! Hit me!"
- >Shut up...
- >She doesn't.
- >She continues to yell in your face.
- >One time!
- >One fucking time you put hands on her!
- >You never felt so low.
- >You promised you'd never do it again.
- >You were a liar.
- >But if she would just shut up...
- >"Come on! What are you waiting for? Hit me!"
- >Shut up...
- >"Hit me!"
- >SHUT UP
- >"HIT ME!"
- >SHUT
- >THE
- >FUCK
- "UUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!"
- >You drove your fist into the drywall, just inches away from Dash's face.
- >She doesn't blink. She just glares at you. That fire is still in her eyes.
- >God damn it...
- >She hates you.
- >You fucking love it.
- >It's the same for her.
- >All you know is you love her too much to walk away.
- >You pull your fist from the wall.
- >You're shaking with anger, trying to fight it, to bottle it back up.
- >"Fucking coward."
- >Dash never did know when to keep that mouth closed.
- >For better or worse...
- >You let her go and she just continues to glare a hole through you.
- "I'm...sorry."
- >"Liar."
- >Yeah, you were a liar.
- >RD trots past you with a snort of disgust.
- "Where are you going?"
- >"I'm leaving you."
- "No you ain't."
- >Here we go again.
- >You pull her back and the argument resumes.
- >You don't even know what it is that start this particular fight.
- >Sometimes it seemed there was never a reason to the fights.
- >They just...happened.
- >You yell, Dash curses, you throw shit, she slaps you, on and on it goes.
- >So why don't you let her leave if it's this bad?
- >Because she might not come back...
- >And that scares you more than anything.
- >But fuck it all, you love her!
- >And she loves you.
- >You know she does...
- >There's a lull in the fight again.
- >The two of you are on the couch sitting in a tense silence.
- >You gently start to rub her back, hoping it would further ease things and--
- >Dash snaps and slaps away your hands.
- >You cover your face and yell at her to stop, some quick apologies being slipped in between the pleads.
- >Her temper is just as bad as yours.
- >You keep covered as you try and shrink into the couch, RD still slapping and screaming.
- >Still huffing in anger she gets up from the couch and walks to the kitchen.
- "Dash!"
- >You call after her.
- >"Fuck off! Leave me alone!"
- >You hear the bedroom door slam. The pictures on the wall rattle from the vibration.
- >You're on your feet and stomping towards the room.
- >You grabbed the door handle and pull.
- >It's locked.
- >You pound on the door.
- "Dash! Open this fucking door!"
- >"Go away, Anon!"
- >You kick the door. Smash your palms against it. You shout more.
- >She doesn't open the door.
- >You sigh and slouch against it, your back resting on the stained white door.
- "Dash. Come on, open the door. Please?"
- >You hear some light clopping getting close to the door.
- >"Why should I?"
- "Because I'm sorry."
- >Were you really?
- >"Liar."
- "Heh. I thought you enjoyed my silver tongue..."
- >You can hear the deadbolt clicking back into place.
- >You get up and turn around. Dash is standing there. It's hard to gauge the look on her face.
- >That beautiful face of hers...
- >"Hmm, sometimes I do... Yeah, sometimes."
- "Like tonight maybe?"
- >"Yeah. I think tonight I like it and I want it in my mouth..."
- >She moves asides and let's you in.
- >Love is fucking crazy.
- >Morning comes too quick.
- >The small shafts of light washed over the bed where you and RD are.
- >She got the silver tongue she wanted.
- >And more.
- >You throw an arm around her neck and plant kisses behind her ears.
- >She liked that.
- >She giggles and turns over, cracking open one her magenta eyes.
- >"Good morning."
- >You smile back.
- "Morning."
- >"I'm gonna need to wash the sheets after last night. We were both a little...backed up."
- >You chuckle and caress her face with the back of your hand.
- >Something flashes across Dash's features.
- >A look of confusion and hurt.
- >"What is that?"
- >What was what?
- >There was nothing... Oh shit.
- >She grabs your hand and stares in disbelief.
- >There was a name written on the back of your hand.
- >Another mares name.
- >The events of last night before you came home rush back and you try to pull your hand back.
- >But Rainbow doesn't let go. If anything her grip is getting even tighter.
- >"Get out."
- >The words were so cold.
- "Dash, wait, let me explain."
- >"GET THE FUCK OUT!"
- >The cyan pegasus kicks and slaps, screams and yells
- >She forces you out of the bed, barely gives you a chance to get dressed then boots you from the bedroom.
- >She slams the door after you.
- "Dash, please! Give me a chance to explain!"
- >"Leave right now or I fucking swear to Celestia I don't know what I'll do!"
- >You plead with the door again.
- >You beat on the door again.
- >You slump against the door again.
- >You can hear Dash crying softly.
- >You swore today would be different.
- >As you have times before.
- >But then again, you were a liar.
- >You push yourself away from the door and wander into the kitchen.
- >You look at the hole in the wall.
- >Guess you don't know your own strength.
- > You take a seat at the dinner table and bury your head in your hands.
- >Not five minutes into the day and this shit had to happen.
- >When it's going good with Dash it was great.
- >But when it's going bad it's awful.
- >You slam your fist down onto the table.
- >You going to be late for work at this rate.
- >Cursing loudly you get up from the rickety table and grab a set of keys from the wall.
- >You take one last look back towards the kitchen.
- >You sigh heavily.
- >You hear a sudden low rumble and take a look out the front window.
- >Looks like there was a storm coming...
- >It's raining as you walk to work.
- >Well, it's more a light sprinkling really.
- >But it could get worse at the drop of a hat.
- >Those weather-ponies liked to make sudden changes.
- >Weather-ponies...
- >Dash...
- >Goddamn it.
- >Forget her for now.
- >Not as easy as it sounded.
- >You just hoped she wasn't setting at home, percolating over...this.
- >But you know how the saying goes.
- >Shit in one hand, hope in the other; see which fills first.
- >Scowling deeply and growling lowly you push the door open and head into your place of employment.
- >A simple shipping warehouse.
- >You were just a regular Joe making minimum wage.
- >It was a favorite button to push for Rainbow--
- >Not thinking about her now.
- >You sling the few raindrops off your hands and shake your head clear of a few other drops.
- >With a small shiver you punch in with your timecard.
- >After that you head to your locker and pick up a few things.
- >As the locker door opens you notice something on the inside.
- >A picture of Dash and you.
- >It was a photo of you two not long after becoming an item.
- >Happier times...
- >You slam the locker shut and storm out of the room.
- >Just focus on work.
- >You hefted a heavy crate up onto a shelf.
- >Then another.
- >And another.
- >Just be a machine.
- >Don't think.
- >Don't feel.
- >Just work.
- >Keep the mind distracted.
- >"'Ello, Anon. My, you're awfully enthusiastic about work today."
- >Fuck. It's--
- "Hey, Whooves. What do you want? I'm busy."
- > Time Turner AKA "Dr. Whooves".
- >A...friend. Sort of. You two worked together and talked occasionally, so you guess that made you and him friends.
- >Guy was a fucking chatterbox though.
- >"Whoa now, something the matter Anon? You seem...on edge."
- "Don't want to talk about it, Whooves."
- >"Rainbow Dash?"
- "Drop it."
- >Whooves nodded a bit and took a spot next to you, lifting some of the small crates and boxes.
- >You know he's not going to fucking drop it.
- >He never does.
- >A few minutes pass in silence before--
- >So... Want to talk about it?"
- >Fucking always.
- "You won't shut the fuck up if I don't."
- >"Yeah, that's how this always works, mate."
- >Picking up another crate you tell Whooves a little about what happened last night.
- >And this morning...
- >"Cor, mate. That's...rough. Who's name was on the back of your hand anyways?"
- >You hold up the offending hand and show him.
- >"Oh, Anon... No wonder Dash is angry at you."
- >You sigh.
- >You didn't do anything with her.
- >You were just at the bar and she sauntered up to you and started buying the drinks.
- >You didn't cheat on Dash.
- >She...
- >That's in the past.
- >Still, Whooves' was right.
- >Seeing that name on your hand?
- >Dash being angry was understandable.
- >But she wouldn't even give you the chance to fucking explain!
- >You and Turner go back to being quiet while you work.
- >Hours pass in silence this time.
- >Though you start to hear a ruckus coming from the front.
- >Someone was yelling.
- >It sounded like...
- >Son of a bitch.
- >It was Dash.
- >She demanding to know where you were at.
- >Some poor middle-management type was trying to clam her down.
- >To little effect.
- >You grit your teeth and run a hand through your hair.
- >Crazy fucking pegasus.
- "Dash! What are you doing?"
- >You call out angrily.
- >The second RD sees you she's flying at you, still furious.
- >"We need to talk, Anon!"
- >You, now getting equally pissed, grab Dash's hoof and drag her off somewhere more private.
- "The FUCK do you think you're doing?"
- >You yell in a hushed voice and peek out from behind the stack of crates you had pulled Dash behind.
- >Rainbow responds by smacking you across the face.
- >"You know why I'm here, damn it!"
- >You rub your reddening cheek and sigh.
- >Here it comes...
- >"Did you fucking cheat on me!"
- "No. I did not cheat on you, Dash."
- >"Then why is HER name on your hand! Tell me that!"
- "Because I'm fucking stupid. Is that what you want to hear? She just bought me some drinks and flirted. You know how she is. But I didn't take her up on it."
- >Dash looks like she mulling it over.
- >And you can see the tears starting to build in the corners of her eyes.
- >"I'm sorry... I just... After what I did to you. You know how much it...hurts. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry..."
- >Dash collapses to the ground and sobs.
- >She had cheated on you before. Some years ago. It...wasn't something you two liked to bring up.
- >And you -had- to forgive her for the infidelity.
- >Because of what you did to her...
- >You kneel down and make Dash look up at you.
- "Hey, hey, it's ok."
- >You stroke her mane with your other hand.
- >She sniffles and wipes at her puffy red eyes.
- >"Liar."
- >Not today.
- >Not today...
- "Dash, come on. Please."
- >"I have to talk to her. Get this all cleared up. I...believe you didn't fool around with her but..."
- >You shake your head.
- "No, I get it Dash. Go. Talk to her."
- >Rainbow picked herself up off the ground and took a deep breathe.
- >"Right. I'll talk to Derpy. She might be a friend but if she says something I don't like... I might have to do something I'll regret."
- >And you believed that.
- >Dash was a tornado.
- >She was liable to do anything if Derpy pissed her off.
- >Derpy...
- >Sweet girl but... She had a voracious appetite for men.
- >The rumor is Derpy's eye is the way it is so she can scout for even more opportunities.
- >Even if those opportunities belonged to other mares.
- >Made you wonder why Dash kept her as a friend but they seemed to get along pretty well.
- >Until this that is.
- >You prayed Derpy didn't try to lie or pin last night solely on you.
- >While Dash was a tornado, you were a volcano.
- >And if Derpy tried to weasel out of this you'd erupt on her.
- >You get back to work after Dash leaves and try to get through the rest of the day without further incident.
- >As you work the remainder of your day your thoughts shift to Dash and your relationship with her.
- >Maybe it wasn't as crazy as it seemed?
- >Who knew?
- >Maybe it was just one of those shit days that turned good in the end.
- >That saying comes back to mind.
- >You give a mirthless chuckle.
- >You glance up towards one of the dingy windows.
- >The storm seems to be getting stronger.
