Mark's video journal: 2nd December 2013

[Camera show's Mark sitting on his bed, looking rather tired. Time is 4:37 AM.]

"Yeah, so, I just remembered that I've forgotten t'do my journal for a fair while, so uh... Yeah..."
"Well, I personally haven't been doing much, just working on espionage stuff really. Getting my paperwork cleared out. I found a form I was supposed to complete before I got here too... Anyway, the others have been pretty flat out. We've got people going on pool dives every seventeen minutes or so, and we've also been getting a fair lot of anomalies popping up on site. One was a unicorn made of ice that made people really girly."

"Well, as for everything else, things haven't been the greatest here. A lotta drama shit, y'know? People seem to be riled up. The worst was E. She'd been seeming pretty down for a few days a little while back, and was acting really weird. Anyway, one night I go up to the roof for a smoke... I started smoking again for a bit there. Hank got me to try quitting again though... Anyway, I went to the roof and E was up there. We chatted for a bit, and then she asked me if I could get her some hot chocky, so I do. When I get back with the drinks, she's up on the rail, about to jump. I tried for ages to talk her down, until I radioed for Si and Ralph to help. It was Ralph that managed to talk her down, of course. Si was freaking out, which is fair enough I think. Ralph really impressed me, keeping his head like that..."

[Silence for approx 6 minutes.]

"E's spoken with me since then. She seems to be doing a lot better, but she won't stop talking about Star Wars lately. I think I'd started to worry her after she nearly jumped. I'd gone off the rails a little bit. Just sick of being here. Same old shit but with a metric tonne of worrying about her offing herself added on top really. Anyway, she made me a monkey."

[Mark holds a plush toy monkey up to show the camera.]

"I dunno why, but it's helped a lot. Good to know that someone cares, I guess. Anyway, I cheered up a lot after that, and then the other day Hank talked me into getting back onto the wagon again. If only the wagon had smoking on it..."
