23:35 <DenaturedGhost> i really didn't like the book at first, but now i do. although every time i start reading it after a break, i hate it again

23:36 <DenaturedGhost> i hate it when books adopt a non-colloquial voice
23:36 <Jozee> i don't know what that means

23:36 <DenaturedGhost> the language used is all made up future speak
23:37 <Jozee> well, they very loosely took today's vernacular that teens use, and swappped out a few words. so "dude" is now "unit" and  "tots" is now "mega"
23:38 <DenaturedGhost> yeah. i know. its still annoying as hell to read
23:38 <Jozee> yes.
23:39 <Jozee> my teenage son and his class are reading this also
23:39 <DenaturedGhost> but i like the way the feed is explained as a positive thing as well as showing some negatives
23:39 <Jozee> and if the language was an attempt to help them identify with the characters, they missed the boat
23:40 <Jozee> i am surprised that they are not focusing more of the plot with what happened in the nightclub with the hacker, and what became of the hacker
23:40 <DenaturedGhost> yeah, i'm wondering about that
23:40 <Jozee> they are dancing around the issue, but this is obviously what the story will climax with
23:41 <DenaturedGhost> yeah, the dream-hack
23:41 <Jozee> because violet remembers everything
23:41 <Jozee> yes, and the goverment is trying to control what's his names recollection through his dreams i guesss
23:42 <Jozee> this is really the only thing that i holding my interest right now, is to see how that plays out.
