- Narrator:
- Team Oak had managed to dispatch the communication problem between Humans and Pokémon as well as establish an agreement between Lucy and Venec. All the while, re-uniting the team whole afterward. Welcome to the World of Pokémon!
- Venec:
- Venec walked into the trainer shop and looked around the store.
- Narrator:
- You find various weapons, armour, healing items, various transportation equipment and items (advanced class gear).
- Narrator:
- On the other side of the store are the complete opposite, being the PokéCare Shop, selling various items for Pokémon.
- Venec:
- Venec looked around for any clerks.
- Narrator:
- You find a male clerk on the Trainer Care side, reading a newspaper.
- * Lucy enters the shop behind Venec.
- Venec:
- "Hello," Venec said as he walked up, "I heard this is a place you can trade in pokemon related gear." He reached into his longcoats pockets to produce three fire stones and a fire gem, "I seem to be collecting these, and I'm running low on other supplies as well."
- * Alejandro looks up from his newspaper and sees the young Venec. He looks down at the stones and gem.
- Alejandro:
- "Those are some rather rare--"
- * Alejandro breath catches in his throat as his eyes fall on Lucy.
- * Lucy raises an eyebrow at the stare.
- Lucy:
- "What is it?"
- * Alejandro clears his throat after a moment.
- Alejandro:
- "Nothing, I thought you were someone else. But uhh, lad, these stones are rather hard to come by. Sure you wanna sell them?"
- Venec:
- "I might keep one of them, now that I think of it. My eevee evolved into a Flareon on her own. I still have a growlithe but I've read in the pokemon center Pokecare magazines that growlithe is one of those who have a lot of trouble learning moves after evolution so I'm holding that of."
- Venec:
- When visiting pokemon centers for Layla's check-ups Venec would often sit around reading magazines left in the lobby.
- Alejandro:
- "So, you're selling two fire stones and a fire gem?"
- Venec:
- "Yes please. How much could I fetch for that?"
- Alejandro:
- "I could give you 4500¥ for all three items."
- Lucy:
- "You might want to hold onto that Gem, Vinnie."
- You whisper to Venec_Myles: It makes fire type moves when held by the Pokémon deal more damage.
- Venec:
- "Really? I thought it was just a pretty looking stone."
- You whisper to Venec_Myles: Mechanically, it adds 1/2 the Damage Dice of a Fire attack with a 1/day use.
- Venec:
- "If you say so. How much for just the two fire stones then?"
- Lucy:
- "There's one for each time. They're hard to find. Most people go digging underground for them."
- Lucy:
- *type.
- Alejandro:
- "Just the two Fire Stones would net you 3000¥."
- Venec:
- "Alright. That will do just fine." Venec handed over the two firestones and put away the others.
- Alejandro:
- "Alright, here's your cash. Could I interest you in anything else?"
- Venec:
- "Yes. I promised a pokemon friend of mine a pair of pants. She's a... dang, now what was the one after Ralts? She's going to hate me for forgetting. Gil- something." Venec crossed his arms as he tried to remember.
- Lucy:
- "Kirlia."
- Lucy:
- "Despite her tomboy demeanor, she enjoys looking pretty. Maybe you should get her a skort, skirt or something along those lines?"
- Venec:
- "Huh, I was far off. I haven't really paid much attention to the psychic types to be honest." Venec turned to Lucy, "I was kind of thinking the same thing, but I don't know how I would do that without making it look like I'm trying to embarrass her."
- Lucy:
- "Then get her a skort. It's still boyish while being cute. If you're still unsure, I could present the gift in your stead."
- Lucy:
- "Also, let me know if my opinions are a bother. I can always keep them to myself."
- Venec:
- "I'm just worried that a skirt might make it look like I'm trying to make fun of her." Venec looked around the store as if he were trying to draw inspiration.
- DNA has connected.
- Lucy:
- "Take your time. Pants could work just as well."
- DNA:
- "Mary, have you found any sort of passageway down there yet?"
- * Mary shakes her head.
- DNA:
- "Nothing at all out of the ordinary? Hmm, this must not be the right waterfall..."
- DNA:
- "You think the passageway might be submerged?"
- Grace:
- 'If it's underwater, do you think children would've really found it?"
- DNA:
- "I already forgot the contents of the riddle. All I remember was a cave in a waterfall."
- Grace:
- "Let's climb up the formation and check it out ourselves. If it's a cave then it'll probably be in a place more easily accessable."
- DNA:
- "Makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion, Grace." Cepheus began to climb up the first ledge to see what was surveyable.
- Venec:
- "Now all I can think of is Grace wearing a sundress. We could do both. Pastels would look good with her coloration." Venec thought, "Well, while I'm thinking what are the prices on poffins? I was thinking about going into beauty contests so I would like some of those. And some sour ones of any variety."
- * DNA rolls: 1d20+2 => 15 + 2 = 17
- Narrator:
- Cepheus makes it easily up the slopes of the rocky formations.
- * Grace floats up to Cepheus' side.
- * Jupiter follows!
- Alejandro:
- "If you're looking for poffins, I cook them fresh."
- Alejandro:
- "You simply need to purchase the berries for the poffins. I can add as many as five for effect but you can add more to change the flavour."
- Lucy:
- "Sounds good. I don't mind something enhancing my looks as long as it's not sweet."
- Venec:
- Venec scratched the back of his head, "Esh... didn't know it was that tricky. Contests are new to me, but I thought I'd give them a shot at least once."
- DNA:
- "It's probably hidden under or around something. Let's check the area."
- DNA:
- go forth my search check because I know you'll ask me for it
- * DNA rolls: 1d20+4 => 1 + 4 = 5
- Narrator:
- Cepheus and his Pokémon look over the landscape only to find that the river runs all the way through the mountain on the far side.
- DNA:
- "...I certainly hope it isn't all the way over there."
- Grace:
- "That wouldn't make any sense. Why would rumors hit here then?"
- Grace:
- "Let's try looking over the waterfall."
- DNA:
- "You mean, on the other side of this river?"
- Grace:
- "I meant the waterfall itself."
- DNA:
- "Let's see if anything comes up as unusual..."
- Venec:
- "Well for now I need basic supplies. Four Potions and two revives should do. We can start with that."
- Narrator:
- Feel free to check the berrydex on page 388 for prices.
- Alejandro:
- "That'll be 1400¥."
- * DNA rolls: 1d20+4 => 16 + 4 = 20
- Jupiter:
- *fistpump*
- Venec:
- Venec handed over the money. "That's taken care of now." Venec walked over and looked at the varriety's of berries.
- Alejandro:
- "If you're going for Beauty, dry berries are the best ones."
- Narrator:
- Cepheus finds a small ridge behind the waterfall connecting the small cliffs.
- Venec:
- Venec nodded, right now thinking about what flavors his pokemon liked. He didn't most of them long enough to know, and Layla's favorite had always been 'meat' flavor. In fact, trying to STOP Layla from eating things had always been the problem.
- Lucy:
- "...Me and Layla could do lunch together sometime."
- DNA:
- "A ridge..."
- DNA:
- "Wonder if it's safe enough to walk on."
- Grace:
- "I can only slow your fall. I can't lift you with my mind yet."
- DNA:
- "You think I should wing it and try?"
- Grace:
- "I'd say hug the wall if you do."
- DNA:
- "Will do. I'll go for it. Mary, stay below me in case I fall."
- * Mary nods.
- DNA:
- check req'd?
- Venec:
- "Heh. Well I've always relied on the free food at the centers. Once we get some poffins we'll all have a chance to have a picnic," Venec said. He thought about entering a beauty contest as he looked. It might have seemed a strange interest to those who knew him, but in Venec's mind Tough, Cool and Skill contests were called "Pokemon Battles", leaving only Cute and Beauty left over. Venec care much for cute, it was too innate, two tacky. Beauty and elegence were something worked for, grown into.
- Narrator:
- The ridge seemed sturdy as Cepheus stepped onto it. It was no longer a matter of it supporting his weight but instead the crashing waters falling just in front of him. The strength of the waters could easily pull him down.
- DNA:
- Cepheus stayed really close to the wall, his arms and hands trying to grip fast to it, as he sloooooowly made his way across looking for an entrance
- DNA:
- His feet were shuffling very slowly, inch by inch, not going too fast. He was looking for...well, something.
- DNA:
- Something that felt like it shouldn't be there.
- Narrator:
- Cepheus made it to about halfway across the ridge when he suddenly fell backs into darkness. However, the odd portion was that he fell backwards onto what felt like grass and soil, but was far too dark to make out anything.
- Lucy:
- "Never had a real picnic. It'll be an interesting experience. I vote for a place where we can people watch."
- DNA:
- The grass fortunately cushioned his fall a bit, but he was really surprised, mostly because it came as a huge shock to him.
- DNA:
- It was an earthen cave, not a stone one. That was interesting. Wait, better call out to the others.
- DNA:
- "I think I found the entrance!" he called out. No idea if they heard him, so he tried to beckon with his hands.
- You whisper to DNA: Should I get Venec?
- DNA:
- He shook his head. Venec was most likely busy and didn't need to be interrupted.
- Grace:
- "Alright, Jupiter. Let's follow Ceph-chan!"
- Venec:
- Venec tallied up costs, growing worried at what kind of investment it would take. He started to think of which pokemon would look best with beauty-enhancing poffins. "Yeah, that would be nice." He replied to Lucy. And as a result Lucy entered his mind, enhanced with the beauty poffins. And Venec immediately tried to STOP thinking about her. It didn't work well.
- Jupiter:
- He was only too happy to comply. Heck, maybe the two of them might get alone time!
- Jupiter:
- Well, alone plus one. Whatever.
- Lucy:
- "..."
- Lucy:
- "I'm not posing for you with anything less than I'm wearing."
- Venec:
- "I didn't!" Venec defended blindly.
- Lucy:
- "...Your thoughts are rather loud."
- DNA:
- "Dang, it's dark in here."
- DNA:
- "Let's see..." He fumbled at his belt and counted 6 Poke Balls down, to send out Ray. "Ray, try to give us some light."
- Venec:
- "...sorry."
- * Ray begins to blow a small stream of fire upward into the air, granting a small area of light.
- Venec:
- Venec surrendered to focusing on the berry section again.
- DNA:
- "It's like...
- DNA:
- like some sort of forest back here!"
- DNA:
- "I think I can make out something like a path...Should we start by following that?"
- Lucy:
- "...It's a compliment of sorts and I've dealt with far worse."
- Grace:
- "Sounds like a good idea."
- DNA:
- (How to reset light source after moving?)
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Only I can.
- Grace:
- "There's Pokémon in here."
- Grace:
- "And what's that stuff?"
- * Grace sniffs the air around the puddle of golden hue.
- Grace:
- "It's...sweet."
- DNA:
- "Honey, possibly?" Cepheus analyzed it with the dex.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- "Honey. A sweet food made by Combee using nectar from flowers."
- DNA:
- "Thought so."
- DNA:
- "Hmm, the path seems to fork outward from here. What do you all think is the best suggestion?"
- Jupiter:
- Jupiter, having three heads, pointed all 3 ways at once just to be annoying.
- Grace:
- "Dunno. We're looking for a fossil right? Why not follow the thickest path?"
- DNA:
- "Probably, yeah. So let's keep straight ahead."
- DNA:
- And that's when he noticed it turned into a cave.
- Grace:
- "This isn't a natural place, it seems."
- DNA:
- "So much for soil ground. Now it's back to what we might expect it to be."
- DNA:
- "I get this weird feeling there's something in here..."
- DNA:
- "....something powerful."
- Grace:
- "I sense a variety of things. Not quite so much powerful."
- DNA:
- "Which way next? I'm thinking north, but if you think south is better..."
- Grace:
- "Depends. There are things to the south, I think."
- DNA:
- "Things? What sort of things?"
- Venec:
- Venec pointed to a section of cheaper berries, "These ones seem to be just for the flavors. 90 each."
- Alejandro:
- "Good eye."
- Venec:
- "Alright, so if I want a few sour/spicy beauty poffins how much would that end up costing me each?"
- DNA:
- "Let's try north first; we can go back to the south later."
- Alejandro:
- "How much are you putting into it? The flavour determins the effect."
- Alejandro:
- "Dry is the only flavour that enhances beauty. Oddly."
- Venec:
- "Is there any way to have a non-dry beauty poffin?"
- DNA:
- "A staircase, now?" (is it leading down or up)
- Alejandro:
- "Ah, no."
- DNA:
- "I think this might be what we're looking for...Shall we?
- Grace:
- "Yesh!"
- DNA:
- "Yesh? why not just say yes?"
- Grace:
- "Less enthusiasm?"
- Venec:
- Venec frowned, "Well darn. What do sour ones do?"
- DNA:
- "A little, yeah." And then a little e ntrance to somewhere else. Cepheus peeked out to see where.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- You see that it leads straight ahead to a similar area.
- DNA:
- "We're probably getting close..."
- DNA:
- "...Let's keep going, and see what we find."
- Alejandro:
- "Sour is for Tough."
- DNA:
- "What's with all these splotches of honey? It's like we stepped into some rocky beehive..."
- DNA:
- "Wait, eggs? What are eggs doing here?" Instinctively, he scanned them.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- "Cranidos, the Head Butting Pokémon. Rock type. A lifelong jungle dweller from 100 million years ago, it would snap obstructing trees with head butts."
- Kaorin Sakura:
- "Carvanha, the savage Pokémon. Dark and Water type. They swarm any foe that invades their territory. Their sharp fangs can tear out boat hulls."
- DNA:
- "These eggs...appear to be of fossilized Pokemon, perhaps? Then it probably means we've found the fossil we've been looking for. But there's a few other ones in here too..."
- Kaorin Sakura:
- "Tepig, the Fire Pig Pokémon. Fire type. It blows fire through its nose. When it catches a cold, the fire becomes pitch-black smoke instead."
- Venec:
- Venec turned to Lucy, "Well she's plenty tough already. Ah what the heck. Two berries can make a poffin? That adds up to... 180... 360...900 plus 180. 1080 for a half dozen of sour poffins. Correct?" Venec turned to take out his money again.
- DNA:
- "...And it appears that we've found our fossil. I'm sure Kia will be excited."
- DNA:
- "It's strange how there was nothing else around in this cave. This cave somehow seems eerier, but it's probably just me..."
- Grace:
- "Are you taking any of the eggs?"
- DNA:
- "I get this strange feeling that something terrible will happen if I do..."
- Alejandro:
- "So, you'd like two full berry poffins?"
- Grace:
- "I think if the parent is nearby, they're at fault for leaving them here."
- Grace:
- "Unattended and all."
- DNA:
- "I think if the parent is nearby, we'd probably not escape here unscathed for taking their eggs."
- Venec:
- "Well that would be twelve berries, how many are needed to make a poffin?" Venec was starting to feel really stupid as the conversation went on.
- DNA:
- "I wouldn't picture any of these eggs being in a cave though...especially not Carvanha."
- Grace:
- "There's a river nearby, right? Makes sense to me."
- DNA:
- "But putting the egg all the way deep in this cave?"
- Alejandro:
- "You only need 1 to make a poffin, but 5 at the most you can get out of it."
- DNA:
- "It doesn't make sense, unless there's some sort of subterranean river nearby. Even so, there's a lot of land between here and the river."
- Grace:
- "I guess so. But it's not like they can't live on the surface. They just do better in water. Maybe it's just safer here. This place is really well hidden."
- DNA:
- "Maybe..."
- Grace:
- "So, what are we taking with us?"
- Venec:
- "Well, I'll get twelve berries. Two sour poffins made from one berry each and two dry poffins made from five berries each. I'll let you pick the berries out because I've caused enough headaches this evening already."
- DNA:
- "Upon thought, I think we should take the 3 eggs and the fossil. If the parents wanted to care for the egg, they probably wouldn't just leave it here unattended..."
- DNA:
- "They were probably left here but uncared for, I feel."
- DNA:
- "Fingers crossed and I hope I'm right..."
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Items added to your box.
- Alejandro:
- "I'll use the ones you picked before. That'll be 1800¥."
- Venec:
- Venec counted out the money and handed it over.
- DNA:
- (The box? The eggs AND the fossil?)
- * Alejandro began cooking the berries into cake-like mix, stirring it as he heated it up.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Yes. You can check your box to see.
- DNA:
- (Okay. I'm just surprised the fossil went there too...)
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Didn't really know where else to put it.
- DNA:
- "Sounds like a good adventure, wouldn't you say? Now, let's head out of here."
- * Alejandro handed Venec he two LV5 beauty poffins and the two LV1 tough poffins.
- Venec:
- Venec let out an exhasperated sigh and slumped down. Getting mauled by pokemon? Easy. Dealing with people? He could feel some sweat forming on his forehead. As the poffins were done he mustered a smile and took them and turned to Lucy and said, "well, while they're still hot," and began to walk out the door.
- DNA:
- "Hi Mary, I'm back!" Cepheus called out. "They were right, there was a fossil back there."
- * Lucy followed Venec while munching on the delicious non-sweet poffin with an audible "Mmm."
- * Mary cheers with a humming sound.
- DNA:
- "You think we should head back to see how Venec and the rest are doing?
- Grace:
- "We should."
- * Ray slumps down entirely out of breath and panting heavily.
- DNA:
- "All right. He said he wanted to go shopping, so let's check the mart." He recalled Ray (because he was pretty darn tired) and Mary (because she couldn't move around well on land).
- Grace:
- "Oh right, you were breathing out fire the whole time."
- Venec:
- Venec gave Lucy the sour poffin, while eating the other one himself. Sour wasn't his favorite but he thought he'd give it a try.
- DNA:
- "Sorry, Ray. You did a GREAT job, though."
- DNA:
- "Now, to the mart."
- Venec:
- Venec waved to Cepheus with a mouth full of poffin he was slowly trying to swallow.
- DNA:
- "I thought you went to the mart, not the eatery...?"
- * Lucy sat down cross-legged and munched in her poffin with her eyes closed, obviously ignoring everyone.
- Venec:
- Venec sent out Layla and gave her one of the dry poffins who ate it up happily.
- Layla:
- (This tastes horrible!) Layla pokespoke as she munched happily at it.
- DNA:
- "Making poffins, I see...How'd that go?"
- Venec:
- "It looks like she likes it." Venec smiled. "Hm? Oh, it's stupidly confusing."
- Kaorin Sakura:
- The waning sun eases off over the mountains and the faint colours of orange begins to reddin as the blue above the clouds slowly turns purple.
- DNA:
- "I won't ask then. ...Looks like evening's coming on fast..."
- * Lucy stands up and stretches, "Carvnivores are more out at night."
- Venec:
- Venec looked at the sunset, "Yeah, it is." He leaned back in his chair.
- Venec:
- *bench
- DNA:
- "...Is that some sort of disguised statement about yourself...?"
- Grace:
- "...She's not a carnivore though."
- Venec:
- "Probably. I am stupidly confusing."
- DNA:
- "...How do you know that?"
- Lucy:
- "I hunt hunters. It's easier than hunting prey."
- Grace:
- "She's Human. Or was originally. You guys are omnivores not carnivores."
- Grace:
- "And already stated a variety of things she eats, which makes her an omnivore."
- Lucy:
- "..."
- DNA:
- "Emphasis on 'was', right? What was true then isn't necessarily true now, but point taken."
- Venec:
- Venec laughed at his own lame joke and stood up, "How was the poffin?"
- Lucy:
- "Delicious!"
- * Lucy cleared her throat from the sudden outburst.
- Grace:
- 'I knew your creepy cover was just an act!"
- DNA:
- Cepheus was likewise confused at the sudden exclamation point. He thought Lucy was rather reserved, so the shout surprised him.
- Venec:
- Venec smiled, "Good!"
- Lucy:
- "..."
- * Lucy sat down at the rivers edge.
- DNA:
- "...Something the matter?" Cepheus asked.
- Lucy:
- "I'm not putting up any act. I'm just intentionally holding things back."
- DNA:
- "...Why would you hold things back?"
- Grace:
- "Yeah, that doesn't make much sense."
- Lucy:
- "Cepheus, you're a researcher, right?"
- Lucy:
- "I'd ask Venec this question, but he wouldn't know the answer off-hand.
- Venec:
- Venec sat quietly and listened.
- DNA:
- "I am, correct."
- Venec:
- "Hey..." Venec groaned, knowing she was probably right though.
- Lucy:
- "Between Mewtwo and Rayquaza, which are more violent and savage?"
- DNA:
- "...It's Mewtwo. Rayquaza's a peace-bringer, according to Hoenn mythos."
- DNA:
- "...Ah! I think I follow you."
- * Lucy laughed loudly in response.
- Lucy:
- "Peace bringer? Rayquaza?!"
- DNA:
- "...Or possibly I don't."
- Venec:
- "I'd think Rayquaza, Mewtwo's sitting just fine being leader of the pokemon league. He barely even fights personally."
- Lucy:
- "Rayquaza is extraordinarily territorial and feats on anything close to itself. It finds a prey and hunts it down non-stop. It doesn't care what's nearby or in its way. How is that a peace bringer?"
- DNA:
- "Even though Mewtwo is said to have, quote, the most savage heart among Pokemon?"
- Lucy:
- feasts*
- DNA:
- "...I thought it merely flew across the world, through the ozone layer, and only came to rest on high towers."
- Grace:
- "Well, Mewtwo had time to gain control, I think."
- DNA:
- "This is only what I've heard."
- Lucy:
- "Rayquaza has touched down on the planet a few times in history. Each time it sprayed Hyper Beams everywhere. It left more destruction than rampaging Gyarados in groups."
- Lucy:
- "The Pokédex is outdated on a lot of entries but some of them are still correct."
- DNA:
- "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try suggesting some changes of my own, based on my findings. That, for example, I didn't have a clue on."
- DNA:
- "It begs a follow-up question, though: Did you adopt Rayquaza's DNA by choice or not?"
- Lucy:
- "I didn't adopt any by choice."
- DNA:
- "So you did it on purpose? Why? Just for power?"
- Lucy:
- "I simply volunteered to become what I wanted. I knew the risks involved and could care less what I was spliced with."
- Lucy:
- "Power was just a by-product. I just wanted to be Pokémon. And not turned into one like some have had the misfortune of having happen to them. I wanted to remain me in a sense."
- DNA:
- "You couldn't care less then, at least. How about now? Do you think it was still worth it?"
- Lucy:
- "Very."
- DNA:
- "And is this splicing the result of you...holding bits of your personality back?"
- Lucy:
- "My awakening in a sense was similar to Mewtwo's."
- Lucy:
- "Except I was more vicious, more violent and none of it I remember."
- Lucy:
- "Someone or something knocked me unconscious and almost killed me. I woke up in Scions hospital where I was tended back to health and where I met---"
- Lucy:
- "Where...I learned to control my savage heart and territorial temperment."
- DNA:
- "...Sounds a lot like someone I heard about from an old friend."
- DNA:
- "I don't know where he is now, though, or what became of him..." He started trailing off for some reason, as if remembering something he didn't want to think about.
- DNA:
- "...But...that's in the past."
- DNA:
- He shook himself back to reality. "...At the very least I see where you're coming from, Lucy. But...it was...actually nice to see you happy, if only for a brief flicker."
- Grace:
- "Lucy, you're Psychic and Dragon type, right?"
- * Lucy nods.
- Lucy:
- "Why?"
- Venec:
- Venec simply watched the sunset as the spoke. He tried to think about things, about where she was coming from. He wondered if he was supposed to be smart enough to piece it together or if she just didn't want to say anything. He also wondered if poffins still tasted good cold because he spent good money on this one.
- Grace:
- "Did something like Estark take her down?"
- DNA:
- "...You're suggesting they used one splice to take out another?"
- Grace:
- "Well, she's Psychic and Dragon type. A Bug and Ice type would be best against her in terms of type coverage, but one doesn't exist naturally. It makes sense to me."
- * Lucy turned to Venec, ignoring the couple for a moment.
- DNA:
- "Or Dark and Ice. Those actually do exist."
- Venec:
- "They had Mewtwo DNA, they had Rayquaza DNA. At some point they must have had access to Mewtwo and Rayquaza. These are resourceful people."
- DNA:
- "Or even Dark and Dragon...again, something that already exists. But speculation doesn't amount to much."
- Lucy:
- "...That's not how they got it."
- Lucy:
- "Scion doesn't steal anything in the slightest. They request things and if denied, leave it be. Although they do go out and find people and Pokémon like myself to volunteer for testing."
- Lucy:
- "I'm sure there are those in Scion who don't stick to these rules but overall, that's how it works. Scion got Mewtwo's DNA by asking for it."
- Lucy:
- "How they got Rayquaza's though, I'm not sure."
- DNA:
- "Why would Mewtwo even consent to that?"
- Grace:
- "Or why they'd mix the two in a single being. It seems like they were trying to make you a weapon."
- Lucy:
- "..."
- Lucy:
- "I'm only a shadow of Mewtwo's capabilities."
- Lucy:
- "If I can hear thoughts as well as I can, he can hear them better. He knew of their intentions and must've felt they were beneficial."
- Venec:
- "Mewtwo has always kind of blurred somewhere between human and pokemon. He might have interest in seeing an organization stress those blurs. He might be lonely." Venec shrugged, "Anything really.
- Lucy:
- "Or that. I hadn't considered that."
- Grace:
- "Venec does that."
- DNA:
- "...Surprisingly often, in fact." Cepheus felt silly saying that. It was so forced.
- Lucy:
- "It's hard to imagine Mewtwo lonely. He's united and initiated so much."
- Venec:
- "... I what?" Venec went right back to confused again.
- DNA:
- "For himself or for others?"
- DNA:
- "For others I hear plenty about. For himself? I've yet to hear any news."
- Venec:
- "Well, not so much as lonely as... Well he's one of a kind. Nothing like him. That's got to be so... strange. You know? I'd hate that. Not having anyone to relate to, even from afar."
- Grace:
- "That would be odd."
- Grace:
- "Do you feel that way, Lu?"
- Lucy:
- "...What?"
- DNA:
- (Lu? Is she giving everyone a pet name?)
- Venec:
- Venec shrugged, "I would have gone insane just wondering if I was normal for whatever I was."
- Lucy:
- "I'm not the only one of my kind. There are others like me. Others before me and after me."
- Grace:
- "Are there clones of you?"
- Lucy:
- "...Come again?"
- Venec:
- "Prolly more splices." Venec guessed, and then took out an ID card and syringe. "Asakura Hitomi. Team Scion. Geneticist."
- DNA:
- "...That's the syringe we got earlier, isn't it...?"
- You whisper to DNA: From the last Pokédex entry on Mewtwo. Mewtwo was engineered by genetic cloning and splicing. Then, in Mewtwo's initial appearance when he established a league of his own briefly, he had cloned Pokémon, which mysteriously vanished afterward. If they had DNA to splice into her, it's safe to say they have the final product of her DNA spliced already, right? Would cloning be hard?
- Lucy:
- "Mrs.Asakura? I met her briefly. She was Miranda's Geneticist."
- DNA:
- "Would cloning be hard? I'd assume probably not, but it's still hard to say. It's impossible to tell what goes into this splicing."
- DNA:
- "Miranda? Who might that be?"
- Lucy:
- "Miranda is my opposite."
- DNA:
- "Cute, bubbly, open and so very very talkative?"
- Lucy:
- "She's a little girl about 13. Spliced with Mew and Darkrai."
- DNA:
- ...Then he detected a social faux pas with his first adjective.
- Venec:
- "Lucy's not cute?"
- DNA:
- "...not what I meant when I said that," he said, biting his lip.
- Lucy:
- "She's my senior ironically."
- Lucy:
- "Taught me a lot, and she's cute and very friendly."
- Lucy:
- "But, she's evil."
- DNA:
- "A 13 year old girl, your senior? That'd be the equivalent of Grace being my superior."
- Lucy:
- "Most people in Scion don't know that I can hear thoughts vs. read them."
- Venec:
- "Grace isn't your superior?"
- Jupiter:
- Jupiter casually looked the other way when Cepheus said that.
- Grace:
- "Why wouldn't I be?"
- DNA:
- "...I can't win however I answer that, can't I?"
- Venec:
- "I thought you were."
- * Grace poses.
- Venec:
- Venec laughed, "Nope. You'd have to distract everyone to get out of it. Quick! Jump in the river!"
- DNA:
- "I'm supposed to be the superior one, but she's about as impressionable as Danny."
- Jupiter:
- (DANNY? WHERE?) he whipped around. Oh, wait. False alarm.
- Grace:
- "I'd like it if I weren'y compared to someone who rolls around in front of a herd of Rhyhorn."
- DNA:
- "...You're right; that was unkind of me. I'm sorry."
- Venec:
- "Danny knows what he's doing. Always. He never looks like it, but I can see it in his eye."
- Lucy:
- "Vinnie, where did you find that ID Card?"
- DNA:
- (Vinnie? Sounds like Venec is already rubbing off on our newest arrival.)
- DNA:
- (I just hope that Joy doesn't show up.)
- Venec:
- "Cinnibar Volcano. I thought I would do some training there on my way to Viridian from Saffron."
- Jupiter:
- Jupiter hoped that she did, just for the lolz.
- Venec:
- "As a fire specialist, I thought I'd get some sulfur in my blood."
- DNA:
- "Is that even healthy?"
- Lucy:
- "...The item I had earlier could've done that well enough.'
- Lucy:
- "But, finding it there meant that Asakura went rogue. That's far from base...and she was such a nice woman."
- Venec:
- "No clue, but I punched a bunch of things, caught a legendary and my Eevee evolved. So a success."
- DNA:
- "...I thought you caught 2."
- Venec:
- "I caught a different legendary later."
- DNA:
- "...Fair enough."
- Venec:
- "I'm talking about the volcano."
- DNA:
- "...Ah, you were at a volcano? didn't know that."
- Grace:
- "We have our own legendary though!"
- Venec:
- Venec put one foot on the bench and struck a pose, "I am Venec Myles! Pokemon trainer for three days and I've caught Two and Two Halves Legendary Pokemon!"
- DNA:
- "I don't think you count."
- Grace:
- "I was talking about the fossil."
- DNA:
- "Also, Venec, for a second there, I thought you were Danny."
- * Lucy giggles at Venec's pose.
- DNA:
- "...How do you know the fossil is legendary?"
- Grace:
- "It's what we were told."
- Jupiter:
- (DANNY? WHERE? No, wait, false alarm again.)
- DNA:
- "...right. Poor memory."
- DNA:
- "I'd go back to the museum and get it examined, but I don't want to talk to that moron again."
- Lucy:
- "Anger offsets memory, Cepheus."
- DNA:
- "...Ouch."
- DNA:
- "I still don't want to go back. He upset Grace and the rest of us. Also, he said reanimation was 3000 a pop, which I don't have enough to do."
- Grace:
- "That guy was a jerk though. Or dense. Or has a Rotom in his head."
- DNA:
- "...don't...mention Rotom...please..."
- Grace:
- "Sorry, Ceph-chan."
- DNA:
- He was nearly in tears from when it happened before. He didn't want to think of Grace not talking again.
- Venec:
- "Oh, I owe you a ton of money. I'll be happy to help cover it."
- DNA:
- "...You don't owe me any money, Venec."
- Venec:
- "Well I owe you help." Venec was adamant on paying Cepheus back somehow.
- Grace:
- "So, Lu...how old are you? I don't understand Human ages."
- Lucy:
- "I'm 8 days."
- DNA:
- "Wait...hold up."
- Grace:
- "...Your human age?"
- DNA:
- "Aren't you someone's daughter or something?"
- Lucy:
- "I don't understand."
- Venec:
- "Do you remember your life before you were a pokemon?"
- Lucy:
- "Cynthia's daughter, yes. I was."
- DNA:
- (He asked the question I was going to ask...)
- Grace:
- "Not was, you still are."
- Lucy:
- "She never liked my attraction to Pokémon and want of becoming one. She wouldn't approve of me this way, but this is my choice."
- Lucy:
- "And I remember some things of my former life."
- Lucy:
- "It's muddled in with Rayquaza's and Mewtwo's pasts though."
- DNA:
- "You said you wanted to become a Pokemon without loss of identity, right? Well, here you are, and your identity is still in-tact? You aren't 8 days old, but...is that really all you remember?"
- DNA:
- *intact.
- DNA:
- not sure why ?
- Venec:
- "You'd be surprised at how far a parent will go for their children." Venec had been joking around just a bit ago, but this was something he very, very strongly believed.
- Lucy:
- "If we meet her one day, we'll see."
- Lucy:
- "And I think I was twenty-something before I volunteered."
- Venec:
- Venec nodded. "And if she disowns you then I'll deck her one, right in the face."
- * Lucy laughed out loud.
- DNA:
- Cepheus chuckled a bit at that. Wow, Venec was really fired up about this.
- Lucy:
- "Well, you'd have a Garchomp between you and her but if you could get past that, I'd love to see it!"
- DNA:
- But he couldn't deny that he had a point. They were still mother and daughter, no matter how much relations were strained.
- Jupiter:
- Jupiter had sparks flying and was ready to go against a Garchomp.
- DNA:
- "Jupiter, no. It wouldn't work."
- Lucy:
- "Oh wait."
- * Lucy unclipped an ID Card from her hip and looked it over.
- Lucy:
- "I was twenty-two."
- DNA:
- Cepheus ran some numbers. (That'd make her older than the rest of this group, but 2 younger than myself...)
- Venec:
- Venec felt a bit awkward, "... fourteen."
- * Lucy patted Venec on his shoulder.
- Lucy:
- "No need to feel like that. Human ages are weird anyway."
- Venec:
- "... I'm not short."
- Grace:
- "I agree! Human ages make no sense!"
- DNA:
- "I've been the same for the past 5 years, so I don't know if I can really comment on that."
- Lucy:
- "I...guess you aren't short?"
- Venec:
- Venec nodded weakly.
- Narrator:
- As the fall of night enters its final stages, the sky grows dark with the purple hue filling it, save for the crescent red moon and the dark clouds.
- DNA:
- "....Should we head inside? It's getting dark and slightly chilly outside."
- Narrator:
- Just as it does, the waters began to grow quieter along the river.
- Lucy:
- "I don't like the cold."
- Venec:
- Venec looked up. "You guys can, I need to get some training done."
- * Grace couldn't help but giggle at the comment.
- Lucy:
- "Grace you shouldn't do things that provoke people."
- Grace:
- "What? It was funny. And besides, I can punch you if you get rowdy."
- DNA:
- "Grace, no."
- Lucy:
- "...What?"
- Venec:
- Venec stretched, "Well, you don't want a pokeball and we can't really be sharing a room, so you can take a few pokeballs of mine and say you're a trainer to get your own room. I'm going to be up late tonight."
- DNA:
- "...I'm going to head back to the Center; the rest of you are free to join me or not."
- Lucy:
- "Why can't we share a room?"
- Jupiter:
- *electronic whistling noise*
- Venec:
- Venec handed over Lucy's own pokeball, as well as Buneary's and Ponyta's. He froze a moment at her question. The immediate thoughts to run through his young adolecent mind probably more than enough to answer her before his mouth even opens, "I... it's... um..."
- Lucy:
- "That wouldn't happen."
- Lucy:
- "There's no breeder present."
- Venec:
- Venec turned and ran off.
- Grace:
- "You don't need one present."
- Lucy:
- "You don---hey, wait!"
- Venec:
- And by ran off, Venec tried to Jump the river.
- Jupiter:
- *follow-up whistling noise*
- Venec:
- Strength « 1d20+6 = 6 + 6 = 12 »
- DNA:
- "Venec, did you just sarcastically take your own suggestion to escape a pratfall?"
- Venec:
- *tried to Jump OVER the river
- DNA is disconnected.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Venec just barely makes it to the other side, causing a minor splash as he hits the waters edge.
- DNA has connected.
- Lucy:
- "..."
- Venec:
- Venec pulled himself and scrambled off.
- Grace:
- "But yeah, no, you don't need one present."
- Lucy:
- "..."
- Grace:
- "They're only required when you don't want to breed."
- Lucy:
- "If that's the case, when why can't I share a room with my Trainer?"
- Jupiter:
- *another electronic whistling noise*
- Grace:
- "Maybe he wants to?"
- Venec:
- Running toward the pokemon center, up the hill behind it and hides behind some rocks, sweating from the heat of his own blush.
- DNA:
- "...Grace...are you sure you have any idea what you're doing?"
- Grace:
- "Kinda sorta?"
- Lucy:
- "Our situation is different from yours."
- DNA:
- "Is it just that Grace isn't human or are you thinking of something else as well?"
- Lucy:
- "There's no mutual feeling of love. Lust, maybe. But he's just in heat. He'll mostly daydream of Joy."
- Grace:
- "And maybe that's why he doesn't want to share a room with you."
- DNA:
- Cepheus found it pretty hard to disagree with that, actually. At least someone had a rational head on her shoulders.
- DNA:
- ...No wait, they both did.
- Lucy:
- "Because of....oh. I see."
- DNA:
- "...Should we start walking back now, then?
- Lucy:
- "Oh. He left this."
- * Lucy picks up the discarded poffin.
- Grace:
- "Can I have it?"
- Lucy:
- "No. He got it for our family."
- * Lucy stuffs her mouth full of the poffin, savouring every bite and taste. An odd smiling look hit her.
- DNA:
- "....You like the taste of it very much, don't you?"
- Grace:
- "That she does! She has a Gardevoir face."
- DNA:
- "A...wait, what does that even mean?"
- * Lucy eyes shot open at the comment before she forced swallowed the poffin and shook her head.
- Lucy:
- "I do not!"
- Grace:
- "Yeah you do. You're just missing the big eyes."
- DNA:
- (Someone just struck a nerve...)
- * Lucy huffs before floating over the river and strutting off toward the Center.
- Venec:
- Venec remains hiding.
- Grace:
- "It's a maternal look."
- Unknown command: "end". Try /help for a list of commands.
- Kaorin Sakura:
- -/end
- DNA:
- A Gardevoir face being a maternal look? Cepheus briefly tried to picture Grace with a kind of look like tha-...uh oh.
- * Grace turns to face Cepheus when she realizes he's looking at her. She tilts her head some with a smile.
- Grace:
- "Hm?"
- DNA:
- "...nothing...Oh, right, if you wanted to know, I could tell you about my past, before I met up with all of you."
- Grace:
- "Oh sure. We can swap stories!"
- DNA:
- "I'd love that."
- DNA:
- (now, or next session)
- DNA:
- *?)
- Kaorin Sakura:
- Next please.
- Unknown command: "truened". Try /help for a list of commands.
- DNA:
- (righto)
- Kaorin Sakura:
- -/truened
