  1. THE BATTLE SYSTEM.
  2.
  3. So you want to fight zombies? Great! Fighting can be pretty darn fun. However, the .dreaded .d is far too unreliable to rely upon if we are going to be using such a risky fate (like death). For this reason, for fighting zombies, there is a system developed to try and both make the battles novel enough, but also fair.
  4.
  5. YOUR CHARACTER
  6.
  7. You have 4 stats that you’ll need to pay attention to. HP, Attack, Defence, and Speed:
  8. HP – Self-explanatory - if a zombie hits you, you take take damage. Should this reach zero, you might not be a goner just yet, but let’s just say you’re about to acquire a taste for grey matter.
  9. Attack – This will be the dice you roll to do damage to zombies. The higher this stat, the bigger your dice is, and as such the potential for doing greater amounts of damage. For most zombies, accuracy is not going to be an issue, they are after all, the walking dead, not the evasive dead.
  10. Defence – This will reduce incoming damage. For every point of defence, the amount of damage you take will be decreased. So if a zombie does 25 damage, and you have a defence of 15, you will take 10 damage.
  11. Speed – Zombies are slow things, and they won’t hit an agile character very often. For this we bring back the. dreaded, .d 100. Your speed stat represents the %age effectiveness of your dodging skills. That might sound a bit peculiar, so allow me to demonstrate.
  12. Speedy pants Mc Speed has a speed stat of 75%. This means that unless they roll under a 25/100, they will successfully evade the attack. For somebody with a speed stat of 50%, they will only successfully dodge if they roll a 50/100 or greater, as per normal.
  13.
  14. STARTING OUT YOUR CHARACTER.
  15.
  16. Your character will start out with the following base stats:
  17. -HP 100
  18. -Attack 20
  19. -Defence 10
  20. -Speed 50%
  21.
  22. You will also be given 10 points, which you may invest into either attack, defence, or speed. 1 point is worth one point of attack, one point of defence, or +3% of Speed. As your character progresses and quests, you will be allocated further points to strengthen your characters attack or defence. Speed will not be allowed to be increased after the start except in special circumstances. There may be opportunities to increase health as well.
