- 1. Basics
- This guide is to help new and old players alike to the SomaDev server.
- Strength - Attack/defense, for each 1 strength you gain 1-1 attack/defense
- Dexterity is for evasion/accuracy
- Intelligence is for magic attack/magic defense, for each 1 you gain 1-1 magic attack/defense
- Wisdom is for MP regain and MP gain upon level up
- Constitution is for HP/bagweight gains upon level up
- To gain strength/dexterity you have to use melee weapons, to gain intelligence/wisdom you must use spells which can be used with a staff or with no weapons or shields on
- Stats slow down at every 5.0 (Bar con, which slows every 2)
- Strength major slow downs are 65, 75, 90 and 95
- Dex major slow downs are 50, 65 and 100
- Int's major slow downs are 70, 90, 95 and 110
- Con's major slow downs are 20, 27 and 29
- Weapon skill slow downs are 20, 50, 70, 90, 110, 130, 150, 170 and 190
- Upon level up you will gain HP, MP and bag weight. Every 1 con you gain gives you an additional 0.1 HP per level, your HP will increase more the more strength/dex you do in a level. The same is for MP and wisdom, the more intelligence you do in a level and the higher your wisdom, the more MP gain you will receive per level
- HP and MP gains are recalculated every level, so there is no need to do individual levels of each stat and no need to do con early (Although it is recommended)
- Crafting gives an additional bag weight, as to what skill/bag weight increase is still to be tested, again this will recalculate every level not as you gain skill
- If you have a full bag weight, you cannot regain HP or MP. The less full your bag is the quicker you regain hp/mp
- To take screenshots press control + B, this will save a screenshot to your soma/screenshots folder

- To switch between attack, PK and peace mode you press tab. The icon on the right side will change when you do

- 2. Basic hunting and weapon guide
- With some weapons you will be able to move onto area's sooner then this guide suggests, if you're pure bow and/or knuckle this will be the case, also with a 1 handed weapon using a shield with axe or sword this maybe the case also.
- If you hunt a monster with less than 50 strength (Or INT), you will gain an additional stat bonus, giving you stats in less % then a normal monster. This is the same for monsters with 30 less str/int, however the bonus is not as great as 50.
- If your character is wanting a large amount of dex, keep dex as close to strength as possible as strength is now proportional to dex. An example would be if your strength is in the boundary of less than 50 of the monster, you will gain dex (and strength) in less % then someone who is in the boundary of less than 30 strength of a monster.
- Using 3rd knuckle and sword is one of the quickest ways to gain stats because the aura counts as 3 hits
- This guide is based on hunting without a healer, if you hunt with a second client using a healer you can move onto monsters a lot sooner, thus giving much better stats per %
- Strength guide
- 1. Con till 18 on brics, do this on conti if possible
- 2. Strength on Leocrots till 16
- 3. Orcish Infantry's till 22
- 4. Kobold's or Stige till 28-30
- 5. Strong Kobold's till 33
- 6. Scale raptor's till 40
- 7. Raptor's till 50-53
- 8. Psycho Trolls till 61
- 9. Trolls or Sand Crawler till 70+
- 10. Bone Golems/Devil's Warriors till 90
- 11. Leiver Beast/Palus till 110
- 12. Beast Lord Guardian till 162
- Alternatively wraiths are good stats from 45 dex onwards until 80+ strength/75 dex if you can hack the grind!
- Below is a table of strength/dex ratio for weapons

- Int guide
- 1. Heal till 13 int and 5 blue skill
- 2. Swamp or scale raptors till 32 int (Using fireball to ensure you get 55 blue skill for 2nd weaken)

- Alternatively you can do wraith from 35 with slow one at a time and Drazil/ELite Lizardman from 50 until 75
- If you're going to use a healer, you need to copy and paste you're "C:/Myth Of Soma" folder so you have two folders, then create a second shortcut on the desktop to the copied folder, this will stop animation bugs occuring.

- 3. Additions/Differences to server

- 4. Penalty/rested experience
- This is a new introduction. Everytime you die and revive without a resurection scroll, you will be hit with a 2.5% penalty (5% if you die grey). This means only skill can be gained while under this penalty, ideal for skilling or hunting for drops. Rested EXP does not work when under penalty.
- Rested exp is x2 normal rates, if you stay above 5% rested when you log off in town you gain 0.5% rested per hour. If below 5% it is a lot slower.

- 5. Crafting and restocks
- Crafting cap is 403
- To obtain special repair (SR) you must have 100 crafting skill in either armour/weapon/access. Once you have 100 in one of these skills you can SR that specific piece of inventory, you can then get 70 in either or both of the others to be able to SR the relative items. Below is the skill required to have multiple SR's per Soma day
- To get SR you must first talk to Mokpung 24,848 Abias with 70 skill in any metal craft, then go to dungeon level 3 and speak to Haomu who walks around the entrance to level 3 and take the hammer back to Mokpung
- 100 - 1X SR per Soma day
- 130 - 2X SR per Soma day
- 170 - 3X SR per Soma day
- 200 - 4X SR per Soma day
- To use special repair you do /repairon this allows people to repair you, eg /repair username
- To repair your own gear just drag the hammer from your skills to the spell belt, left click and use it on an item
- To skill weapons, craft daggers (3 metal, 1 leather), this can be done till SR for maximum profit
- For additional skill craft thunder bows till 60 skill when you lose the bonus
- To skill armour, craft cheap shoes (2 leather, 1 linen), this can be done till SR for maximum profit
- For additional skill craft shaman shoes till 68 skill when you lose ths bonus
- To skill access, craft rings (3 copper), this is the only realistic way to obtain SR in access
- Access is the quickest and most profitable way to obtain SR if you plan on getting 100/70/70. This is because it is 3 materials per attempt and you don't have to move to sell to the NPC. You CAN gain skill with a full inventory and/or bag weight, you just don't produce the item so you will lose profit
- For additional crafting bonus, if you craft something with less then 50 skill requirement to make, you will obtain a skill bonus and will get skill in less attempts then if you were over the skill bonus. An example is shaman shoes, with less then 67.9 skill you will obtain a skill bonus, however once you hit 68 skill you will lose the skill bonus and will gain skill at the same speed as if you were making cheap shoes (0 skill requirement)

- Go into C:\Myth of Soma (by Default)
- Open SomaDevLauncher in notepad, change the height and width and reload Myth of Soma with windowed mode selected

- 35. Changing monster skins
- Before you do this it is strongly recommended that you back up the "Myth of Soma/Man" folder.
- (x = any number) Man files are Manxxxxx, MANxxxxx or manxxxxx.
- Whether the file is Man, MAN or man, does not change anything; they are just there to help sort out what is what.
- Monster files all end with 00, 04, 07, 13 and 15 - i.e. Man13800, Man13804, Man13807, Man13813 and Man13815 (that example is for Brics).
- There are 2 types of file to each Manxxxxx, an Animated Cursor file (gives the monster/NPC their sense of direction), and the Shockwave file (the actual animation). So if you only wish to change the Monster's appearance, only rename the Shockwave files, but if you want to make them walk straight, change the Animated Cursor file.
- To change a monster into a monster, simply rename the Manxxx00 with the other Manxxx00, the Manxxx04 with the other Manxxx04, etc.
- Monsters only have 00, 04, 07, 13 and 15 files because they only stand still, walk, hit stuff, get hit and die.
- To find out the number of a monster, go to the armoury, search the monster, right click the image of the monster and "View image info". The number in there is the exact same as the monster skin in the "Man" folder.
- Copy and paste the monster file you wish to overwrite the current monster file into another directory, rename it to the correct ManxxxXX number, then paste into "Myth of Soma/Man" folder, this will overwrite the old one, reboot the client and the changes will take effect.

- 36. Guild
- To open a guild you need either 90 total crafting skill, 50 in an individual craft skill or level 25.
- It costs 100,000 barr to open a guild and you must have 100,000 barr in guild stash to kep the guild open or it will disband.
- Guild village war occurs every 6 days at 8PM which lasts for 1 hour, the sole purpose is to be stood on the stone at the end of the war.

- At angel moral you get a 20% discount from shops, the lower your moral the more it costs at shops. If you are wicked you cannot use any NPC in town, if you are devil moral you cannot enter town you must use the devil moral town in Abias around X 487 Y 799
