  4.
  5. The following morning, Mrs. Diaz was the first to wake up and come downstairs. She yawned as she walked down the steps aching for a cup of coffee. As she turned into the living room she stopped mid step and let out a squeal. She ran back upstairs and started looking for her phone. While doing so she started to wake up her husband, it was Saturday and his day off so he was trying to sleep in. Sadly in this house, peace and quiet was quickly becoming a distant memory.
  6.
  7. "Baby, what are you doing? I'm trying to sleep," Mr. Diaz groaned as he tried to doze off again. He looked at the clock it was barely 8 am, waking up before noon on a Saturday morning should be illegal.
  8.
  9. "Rafael, you gotta see this," squealed his wife in excitement. Mrs. Diaz kept rummaging through the drawers trying to find where she left her phone.
  10.
  11. "I love you, Angie, but unless something is on fire, I'm not getting up," Mr. Diaz said as he put a pillow over his face, in attempt to drown out the sounds his wife was making.
  12.
  13. "It's Marco and Star, and something is on fire," She replied as she finally found her phone. It had fallen under the bed.
  14.
  15. "WHAT?!" Mr. Diaz said jumping out of bed, now his wife had his attention.
  16.
  17. "Are the kids okay?" He asked as he put on a bathrobe.
  18.
  19. "Just see," Mrs. Diaz whispered running back downstairs.
  20.
  21. Marcos father hurried downstairs after his wife, stopping next to her at the foot of the stairs. She pointed at something in the living room, Mr. Diaz looked at where she was pointing at, finally he saw it and let out a frustrated groan.
  22.
  23. "You made think there was a fire…for this?!" Mr. Diaz exclaimed, clearly annoyed.
  24.
  25. "But there is a fire...in their hearts, that fuels their love for one another," Mrs. Diaz said snapping pictures on her phone. Mr. Diaz rubbed his eyes; he just wanted to sleep in for once. He loved his wife but sometimes he wished she would not overreact to the littlest things.
  26.
  27. In the living room, Star and Marco were fast asleep. Something Marco's father wish he could be doing right this second. Marco was stretched out on the couch, and Star was snuggled right on top of him. Star yawned and stretched a little then went right back to sleep while hugging Marco. Mr. Diaz looked at his wife who was taking pictures on her phone.
  28.
  29. "Honey, what are you doing?' he asked.
  30.
  31. "What's it look like I'm doing? This is the most adorable thing I've ever seen, I want to document it," She replied still taking pictures as she moved closer to them.
  32.
  33. "Stop it, Angie, it's not a good idea," he told her. Mrs. Diaz could tell he was serious.
  34.
  35. 'Why? I'm not hurting anybody," was her reply.
  36.
  37. Marco's father reached out and grabbed the phone from his wife's hand and put it on sleep mode.
  38.
  39. "Promise me you'll delete them and I'll give it back," he said sternly.
  40.
  41. “What’s got into you all of a sudden? Is it because you're still cranky from me waking you up?"
  42.
  43. "No…at least, not entirely. It's because I don't want you getting Marco in trouble with Jackie," he replied.
  44.
  45. "Oh, that's ridiculous hun, not like I caught them making out," Mrs. Diaz countered as she reached for her phone. Her husband, however, kept a firm grip on it.
  46.
  47.
  48. "Listen to me, Marco is playing with fire right now. It's cute and all how they’re together, but he has to ease himself out of being so…so ‘comfy’ around Star, it might send the wrong signal to her and his actual girlfriend," Mr. Diaz replied calmly, as his wife struggled to get her phone back.
  49.
  50. "Don't tell me you're taking Jackie's side in all this. Star told me she doesn't like it when she hang out with Marco,"
  51.
  52. "I'm not taking anyone's side. Actually, yes, I am. I'm taking Marco's side. And if dating the Thomas girl is what makes him happy then as his father I'll make sure he stays happy." Mr. Diaz let go of his wife's phone, causing her to stumble back as she had been tugging on it hard.
  53.
  54. "But it's so harmless and-" Mr. Diaz cut her off.
  55.
  56. "Are you telling me, that if you saw a picture of me with a lady friend in the same position as they are, you wouldn't get furious?" Mr. Diaz asked his wife.
  57.
  58. "Of course not, because I'm-"
  59.
  60. "An adult, right," Mr. Diaz finished for her. "Well, from what I know Jackie is hormonal 14-year-old girl with some jealousy issues, I doubt she'd take to kindly to seeing Marco like this." Mr. Diaz pointed to the couch as he said the last few words. Mrs. Diaz didn't want to admit it, but he was making sense, which only worried her considering what she's done.
  61.
  62. "Oh, and, by the way, you don't take things like that well either," Mr. Diaz said with a chuckle. "Let's not forget the Maritza incident."
  63.
  64. Mrs. Diaz rolled her eyes, "Oh geez! I thought you said you weren't ever going to bring that up again."
  65.
  66. "Nice female co-worker bakes me cookies, I bring some home and tell you about her. What happened? You got jealous and went down to work to confront her," Mr. Diaz now said openly laughing.
  67.
  68. "You said she looked and sounded like Sofia Vagara, what was I suppose to think?' She retorted.
  69.
  70. "Noooo...I said she looked and sounded like Sofia Vagara, IF Sofia Vagara she was a 91-year-old great-grandmother, but as soon as I said Sofia Vagara you just went into jealousy-mode and didn't hear the rest," Mr. Diaz smiled thinking about that poor old secretary who his wife scared the bejeezus out of.
  71.
  72. "And why did she bake me cookies all the time?" He asked her again. He was enjoying poking fun at his wife's lapses in judgment.
  73.
  74. Mrs. Diaz just sighed in defeat. "Because you reminded her of her grandson, not because she wanted to sleep with you."
  75.
  76. Mr. Diaz yawned and put his arms around his wife. "I get it, angel, Star reminds you of you, back when you were a kid. So energetic and bubbly and optimistic, just full of love and happiness, key difference she has magical powers and you didn't,"
  77.
  78. Mrs. Diaz just groaned. Her husband could always read her like a book.
  79.
  80. "And I also get that because you grew up and gave every bit of yourself to Marco, to be an amazing mother and love him forever...you think that he needs someone like Star to carry on after you and be there for him and love him forever too" Mr. Diaz patted his wife's shoulder. At least she had stopped taking pictures.
  81.
  82. "But we can't interfere, say you do whatever it is you were gonna do with those pictures. Jackie dumps him and now he 's alone and can be with Star. There's no guarantee he'll accept her if he just doesn't feel the same way"
  83.
  84. "Okay, so maybe you are right," Mrs. Diaz whispered.
  85.
  86. "No, not ‘maybe’, for sure I am right. In the end you'll have a house with 2 sad and miserable teens, one of them being your own son that you sabotaged".
  87.
  88. "Fine, I get it, I'll stay out of this and let it takes it’s course," Mrs. Diaz replied. She couldn't bare the thought of knowing that she may hurt her son in any way. And as for Star, she loves her like a daughter to do the same.
  89.
  90. "That's my girl," Mr. Diaz said kissing her forehead. "I'm going back to bed, and next time don't wake me up unless it actually is an emergency," Mr. Diaz said going back up the stairs.
  91.
  92. Mrs. Diaz started going through her phone. She was deleting the pictures she took, as she went through them Marco began to stir and open his eyes.
  93.
  94. "Oh, hey mom, good morning." Marco looked down and saw Star still sleeping, her head buried in his chest.
  95.
  96. "Star wake up, it's morning," Marco said as he poked her cheek. Star just giggled and pushed away his hand.
  97.
  98. "Why, yes, Marco we can honeymuf-" Star then woke up, her dream had ended abruptly and it shot her back to reality much to her dismay.
  99.
  100. She got off Marco, and rubbed her eyes while yawning. This was the best night's sleep she's had in weeks, just her and her original Marco pillow.
  101.
  102. "Is breakfast ready, mom?" Marco asked examining all the drool Star left on his t-shirt.
  103.
  104. "Sorry," Star said with a giggle.
  105.
  106. "Not yet, I just woke up too, give me half an hour," Mrs. Diaz replied as she'd deleted the last of the photos. At least the last of the photos on her phone, now there was the matter of deleting the one she already posted on her facebook page. She doubt's anyone actually saw it, however.
  107.
  108.
  109. Over in her bedroom, Janna was happy that she friended Marco's mother, a while back. She was also glad she gave Star that idea for a romantic not date night, something small to show Marco what he's missing out on by being with Jackie. Janna looked at the image that had appeared on her timeline, and boy was it dynamite.
  110.
  111. This is going to be so much fun.
