  1. >Much to your dismay, Pinkie purchases a beautiful necklace for an undisclosed price.
  2. >She didn’t even let you see it, either.
  3. >You were still a little offset about what she said earlier.
  4. >She was going out of her way to make sure you had the best Hearts and Hooves day that you’d ever had.
  5. >And if destiny slides that line block into the right spot, you might go Full Tetris.
  6. >And that would make you happy.
  7. >Probably.
  8. >There was a niggling fear in the back of your head that was causing you to doubt a lot of things, ever since this idea was sent forth.
  9. >You didn’t know what it was exactly.
  10. >Perhaps it was simply the fear of rejection.
  11. >The many sleepless nights you had dreaming of sleeping next to the alabaster fashion pony, holding her close to you late at night.
  12. >The thought causes you to smile, but a jab with a pink hoof sends you back to reality.
  13. “Huh?”
  14. >”Come on lover colt, you still have to ask her out, remember?”
  15. “Yeah…I know. I guess I’m just a little nervous.”
  16. >The two of you exit the jewelry store and head for the final destination.
  17. >You try and fix your hair and straighten your clothes up on the way, but you know you look like hammered dog shit.
  18. >You’d just gotten off of work, after all.
  19. >Maybe she’s the type of girl to like the smell of a dude that’s been working hard?
  20. >You doubt it.
  21. >”So…what’s your plan, Anon?”
  22. >You think for a moment, and although you have the basic idea, you don’t know the area enough to really put it into motion.
  23. “Ask her out to dinner some place, I guess.”
  24. >”Good idea, but where are you going? Oh! I know! You should take her to Gelding Corral! It’s a buffet, and I don’t know a p0ny around that hates a buffet.”
  25. >It was true, though, you loved buffets.
  26. >Being fairly culinary trained; you knew the food was bottom-tier quality, with kids and adults alike mixing foods together, using the wrong utensils, and generally making a mess of the place.
  27. >Even with all that the appeal was simple and rocksteady.
  28. >Eat until you don’t want to eat any more.
  29. >And then eat one of those frozen yogurt cones with a ton of sprinkles and shit on it.
  30. >Because why the fuck not?
  31. >You were suddenly more excited for the night.
  32. “Pinkie, you are a bloody goddamn genius.”
  33. >Her tail wags happily as she beams at you.
  34. >”I know, I know. When it comes to food, I’m definitely the pony to ask.”
  35. >You share a laugh as Carousel Boutique comes into view.
  36. >The laugh fades and you feel a sinking feeling in your stomach.
  37. >What if she says no?
  38. >Aw shit you didn’t have a backup plan and Pinkie just spent a ton of money on you.
  39. “Hey Pinkie…uh…what if she says no?”
  40. >She looks at you like you’re crazy.
  41. >”Why would she say no? You’re the bestest most awesome human ever!”
  42. “Pinkie I’m the only human here.”
  43. >”Exactly!”
  44. >Your face finds shelter in your palm for a moment.
  45. >”Don’t worry, Anon. I’m sure Rarity won’t be able to refuse your charm.”
  46. >She mumbles something after that statement, though you can’t make it out.
  47. “Uh, what was that last bit?”
  48. >”We’re here!”
  49. >Sur e enough, you stand on the little welcome mat in front of the Boutique.
  50. >The smell of expensive perfume wafts from the doorway, and you catch the faint hum of a sewing machine galloping on.
  51. >This was your moment of truth.
  52. >You turn to Pinkie…
  53. >…who has vanished.
  54. “Pinkie?”
  55. >You catch movement out of the corner of your eye.
  56. >She’s hiding in a bush in the distance, apparently.
  57. >Well, there goes any hope of backup.
  58. >You take a deep breath and exhale slowly.
  59. >You pull the little box out of your pocket and ready the flowers.
  60. >Moment of truth, Anon.
  61. >Let’s do this.
  62. >You shakily stretch out a hand and knock on the small door.
  63. >Deep breaths, Anon.
  64. >”Sweetie, get the door, will you?” A voice calls from within.
  65. >That was her, you’re sure of it.
  66. >You can feel your heart pounding slightly as the door opens slowly.
  67. >A small white filly with purple and pink hair answers, looking up at you with bright green eyes.
  68. >The two of you lock eyes for a moment before she finally starts smiling wide.
  69. >”Hi! I’m Sweetie Belle! What’s your name?” she nearly yells in her excitement.
  70. >Oh, it isn’t her.
  71. “Um…I’m Anon. Is R-Rarity there?”
  72. >”You’re not a pony…what are you? Oh did you bring me flowers?”
  73. “I’m a human. It’s a long story. Is…is your sister home?”
  74. >You’d never met this little filly, but it was a good assumption.
  75. >”Oh, right. RARITY!~ A human brought you flowers!” She calls to the room behind her.
  76. >Oh god what.
  77. >Can’t turn back now.
  78. > Pinkie has spent way too much dosh on you for you to give up now.
  79. >Your knees are shaking slightly.
  80. >Your palms begin to sweat.
  81. >”Sweetie can it not wait? I’ve plenty more orders to do bef- Oh.”
  82. >And there she is.
  83. >Rarity, the pony from your dreams makes her appearance aside her sister.
  84. >”Hello Anonymous. Happy Hearts and Hooves day! Are…are those for me…?”
  85. >She blushes at you, surprise flashing in her brilliant sapphire hued eyes.
  86. >Without saying a word you produce the little box from behind your back.
  87. >Not that you could say anything at this point.
  88. >You can feel your heart attempting to jump out of your chest at any moment.
  89. >”W…what is that? Anonymous what is all this?”
  90. >She takes a step back.
  91. >You swallow hard.
  92. >And Sweetie Belle’s eyes light up.
  93. “V-v-valentine…” is all you manage to stammer, your spaghetti coiling itself around you like a fork.
  94. >”ARE YOU ASKING MY SISTER OUT ON A DATE?!?”
  95. >She squees loudly, hopping up and down with manic glee.
  96. >”Anonymous I…I don’t know what to say.”
  97. >Shit man, pull yourself together.
  98. >What happened to your moment of truth?
  99. >Time to be a man.
  100. >Or at least, try.
  101. >You reach the box and flowers out to her.
  102. >”R-r-rarity…will you um…go…out…”
  103. >She puts a hoof to her face, gasping lightly.
  104. >”B…but Anonymous…I mean I don’t even…”
  105. >She takes the box and flowers, holding the violet bouquet close to her with a hoof, magically taking the box.
  106. >She looks at you, then to the box, then back at you.
  107. ”…will you go out with…me?”
  108. >You finally get it out, your face flush, your hands pretending they’re Michael J. Fox making a milkshake by hand.
  109. >You reach for the little box, still floating in front of her.
  110. >Time to turn on that awkward charm, Anon.
  111. >You open the box, lifting the delicate silver chain out of it.
  112. >Kneeling down, you see her eyes watching your every move like a hawk.
  113. >Not a peep is sounded, except for the barely audible squee from Sweetie Belle that seems to go on without end.
  114. >You look down at the necklace briefly.
  115. >A thin silver chain, wrapped by two other smaller chains. A near exact replica of Rarity’s cutie mark hangs in a dazzling purple amethyst in the middle, suspended by a framework of subtle silver filigree.
  116. >Wow how much did this cost.
  117. >You unclasp the little bauble, and pull the necklace around Rarity’s neck.
  118. >Your hand brushes against her briefly, enough to feel how fast her heart is beating.
  119. >You clasp the chain around her, and stand.
  120. >Her eyes shine wide, her mouth agape.
  121. >You have successfully charmed Rarity.
  122. >How do you feel?
  123. >You need a shower.
  124. >Sweat pours from you like the second coming of niagra falls.
  125. >Combined with your worksweat, you likely smell awful.
  126. >Your heart is threatening to pull an Aliens homage and rip open your sternum in its effort to escape the overly embarrassed body from which it
  127. >And you have never felt better.
  128. “Is…that a…”
  129. >”Yes!”
  130. >She leaps at you, knocking you on your back in a tight bear hug.
  131. >Suddenly, against all reason, you feel a sudden twinge in the area of the right side of your temple.
  132. >As quick as you notice it, it ceases.
  133. >Huh.
  134. >With arms the likes of that which would rival Wuten’s pastamancy, you embrace the glimmering white pony, rubbing your face against her neck.
  135. >In hindsight that’s probably creepy, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
  136. >God you’ve waited for this.
  137. >”Anonymous…you’re squeezing me a little tightly, darling.”
  138. “Oh uh…sorry. I’m uh…just excited.”
  139. >”Well…here I thought I would spend my holiday alone at my sewing machine.”
  140. >She rises off of you, smiling warmly.
  141. >She looks back to the flowers, shining her horn, lifting them over to her.
  142. >She sniffs at them.
  143. >”Purple carnations? How on earth did you manage to find these? And this necklace…Anonymous. You could have just asked, you know.”
  144. “I…uh figured you’d need a little uh...help?”
  145. >She rolls her eyes, flipping her squiggly mane dramatically with a hoof.
  146. >”Well, I certainly appreciate the extra effort. Now I have to ask…where are you taking me?”
  147. >You scratch your head, ruffling your shaggy hair.
  148. ”You know, I don’t really know a lot of nice places around here. I kind of keep to myself. Pinkie mentioned some place she liked but-“
  149. >”Well, in that case, I know just the place. You don’t mind treating me, do you? I’ll make sure you enjoy yourself of course.”
  150. >She winks at you and you feel goosebumps ravage your lower body with a tingling sensation.
  151. >Wait…what the hell does that wink mean?
  152. >Hopefully not anything…extracurricular.
  153. >Gotta keep up your streak.
  154. >A man has to keep his humanity, you know?
  155. >Keep the faith.
  156. >God she smelled so wonderful.
  157. >…welp, that didn’t last long.
  158. >”Come by around 8. And wear something nice would you?”
  159. “Rarity…I don’t really have anything fancy. And…uh how expensive are we talking?”
  160. >”Well, you could afford this exquisite necklace. I can only imagine you’re able to afford a little date. I don’t get to get out much, you know. Work and all.”
  161. “I know the feeling. And…this may be stretching it but-“
  162. >”Of course I’ll make you something, Anonymous. It’ll be my gift to you. What’d you call it…a gift to my valentine?”
  163. >She giggles playfully, rising off of you.
  164. >Truly the linguini gods are smiling upon you today.
  165. >Things seem to be turning up Anonymous today.
  166. >”Follow me in, I’ll need some measurements. I’ve never made clothes for one so…big.”
  167. “Yeah, I mean…I actually wear clothes too. Not just for special occasions.”
  168. >”I’ve been meaning to ask about that, actually.”
  169. “Basically, I get cold really easily. I’m…well I don’t have hair like you p0nies do. And uh…we don’t like flashing our uh…naughty bits around.”
  170. >You follow her into her sewing room, all manner of seamstress knickknacks covering the floor and walls.
  171. >She motions you to stand on the little raised platform.
  172. >”Anonymous, I know you just said you don’t like stripping your garments…but I need to take your measurements.”
  173. >She doesn’t mean…
  174. >You have to strip naked in front of your crush?
  175. >Why.
  176. “…do…do I have to?”
  177. >”Well, if you expect me to get an accurate measurement. Come now, I have a lot to do if I want to get this done in time.”
  178. >You feel your knees buckle slightly.
  179. “Can you t-turn around at least.”
  180. >”Anonymous must you…fine. Be quick about it.”
  181. >She turns, her little squiggly tail wiggling slightly.
  182. >This is really happening.
  183. >Was she wagging her tail?
  184. >Do p0nies do that?
  185. >Maybe.
  186. >But YOU sure as sure didn’t want to do this.
  187. >But…you want to look swank for this dinner thing.
  188. >And when do you get a FREE fancy outfit?
  189. >You turn your head slightly, and see the marshmallow looking away.
  190. >Just to make sure.
  191. >And then you shakily start to lift your shirt up and over your head, dropping it lightly in front of you as the cool air makes your nipples stand at attention.
  192. >You turn again, your breathing erratic.
  193. >Still looking away.
  194. >Why did you care, she was going to see you anyway?
  195. >…better get this over with quickly then.
  196. >You bet Pinkie is probably proud of you.
  197. >You would have never been able to do this without her, after all.
  198. >Slowly, you try and regain a bit of your nerve and unclasp the button on your pants, letting gravity take them to the floor.
  199. >You are now rather cold.
  200. >But at least you remembered underwear today.
  201. “O-okay Rarity. I’m ready.”
  202. >You were not ready.
  203. >”It’s about time Anon I was…”
  204. >She stops mid sentence.
  205. >You are intently staring at this wall.
  206. >It’s a nice wall.
  207. >You feel your entire body shake slightly as you lift your arms up robotically.
  208. >Hi wall.
  209. >”Anonymous…you’re um…still wearing something you know.”
  210. “I know.”
  211. >Your voice is shaky as well.
  212. >This entire situation could have happened during an earthquake and you would not have noticed even the slightest change.
  213. >”I see. I’ll…work around it then.”
  214. >You hear her hooffalls behind you as she approaches.
  215. >The sparkly noise of magic being used is heard.
  216. >Oh, wait, she’s going to use her magic.
  217. >Whew that’s a relief.
  218. >”Be still, Anon, I’ll make this…I’ll make this brief.”
  219. >She mumbles something under her breath after that that you just can’t make out.
  220. >Okay, no pressure Anon, just the girl of your dreams (literally) and she’s seen you pretty much naked already.
  221. >She’s a pony, that’s natural.
  222. >Right?
  223. >This wall is so interesting.
  224. >Something brushes against your right thigh.
  225. >Something fuzzy and warm.
  226. >You tense up, goosebumps running down your leg.
  227. >She was in fact, NOT using her magic.
  228. >Grand.
  229. >Just…fucking grand.
  230. >You were not used to being touched.
  231. >At all.
  232. >WALL.
  233. >Rarity measures you painstakingly slowly, letting her hooves gently brush against your skin whenever she could.
  234. >You don’t know if she’s doing it on purpose or not, as she’s behind you.
  235. >You have a guess that she probably is.
  236. >But…this would be the first time a girl has ever taken interest in your body.
  237. >That’s a plus, right?
  238. >Except she’s a p0ny, man.
  239. >Come on.
  240. >”Well…Anon. I think I’m done here.”
  241. >You quickly don your clothes and turn to her.
  242. >She’s smiling and blushing slightly.
  243. >”Sorry, Anonymous. I couldn’t help myself. You do forgive me, right?”
  244. >She blinks at you slowly.
  245. >Seductively.
  246. >You cannot handle this.
  247. “OF COURSE. YES. EVERYTHING.”
  248. >She looks shocked for a moment at your outburst, then giggles.
  249. >”You’re adorable. Now go freshen up, you smell like Pinkie Pie.”
  250. >You assume that means you smell like a bakery.
  251. >”Now…shoo shoo darling, I still have work to do you know. I’ll see you in a few hours.”
  252. >You smile and step out the door, a bounce in your step.
  253. >Finally things are turning up Anonymous.
  254. >Plan of action now is to reiterate the morning routine, and maybe take a nap, whenever you get home.
  255. >You leave the boutique, rustling Sweetie Belle’s mane on your way out.
  256. >Much to your surprise, Pinkie is waiting for you outside the door.
  257. “Oh. Hey Pinkie. Were you waiting for me?”
  258. >”Duh. I wanted to…to make sure things went well…?”
  259. >You give her a hug, which surprises her but she warmly embraces you.
  260. “She said yes, Pinkie! Thank you so much. I would have never been able to do this without you.”
  261. >She pauses a moment, her face kind of blank aside from a smile.
  262. >”That’s great Nonny! What are you two going to do? Moonlit stroll through Canterlot Garden? Or a masquerade ball with all of the finest fillies and gentlecolts in all of Equestria or…”
  263. >What.
  264. “No, Pinkie. Nothing crazy like that. Just a dinner date. She’s making me an outfit and everything too.”
  265. >She smiles still, the two of you strolling side by side as you walk to your house.
  266. “She said I smelled like you.”
  267. >She turns to you, smiling as wide as only Pinkie can smile.
  268. >”And…and what do I smell like Anon?”
  269. >You can see her little tail wiggling behind her.
  270. “I assume it means I smell like buttercream, fruit fillings, flour, bread, and probably a lot of sweat.”
  271. >She giggles.
  272. >”I was going to say parties, but that’s close enough! So what’s the plan Nonny?”
  273. “I’m heading home to shower and get ready. She said it’ll be a couple hours so I’ve got a little time to blow. Thinking of taking a nap. Waking up at god-awful in the morning takes a lot out of me. I don’t know how you do it.”
  274. >”Sugar, mostly.”
  275. “That figures.”
  276. >You put an arm around Pinkie as the two of you make it to your house on the outskirts of town. Apparently being in Ponyville proper was far too jarring for the Mayor to handle.
  277. >It’s whatever.
  278. >”Nonny…you mind if I…if I hang out with you for a while?”
  279. >You cock your head at her as you reach the stairs to your room.
  280. “I don’t see why not, but…don’t you have other holiday stuff to do? Maybe go find your own valentine?”
  281. >You weren’t going to start calling it ‘special somep0ny’.
  282. >Not now.
  283. >Not ever.
  284. >”…I think that being with my friends is a good way to celebrate a holiday about being around someone special, don’t you think?”
  285. >She has a point.
  286. >Though that kind of goes further on the point that Pinkie probably doesn’t like relationships.
  287. ”Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Help yourself to the couch or something, I’m gonna shower real quick.”
  288. >And so you do, your heart still aflutter from the prospect of a first date.
  289. >You make sure to clean under your pits and nether regions where odor likes to set up shop.
  290. >It’s a good thing you picked up body wash.
  291. >It was rare of you to use it, but it never failed to make you feel fresher than normal.
  292. >You step out of the shower, toweling off and wrapping a towel around you.
  293. >You throw on some cargo shorts and a simple t-shirt, a good stand-in until you get your swanky duds from Rarity.
  294. >And don’t forget the underwear.
  295. >These are white and blue and stripey.
  296. >Your lucky boxers.
  297. >You head down stairs, to check on Pinkie.
  298. >She’s looking through your bookcase for some reason.
  299. >Celestia donated quite a few of them, but you weren’t really all that interested in Equestrian history or anything of that manner.
  300. “Yeah, I’m not much of a reader.”
  301. >”Me neither, but sometimes there’s crazy hidden compartments in bookcases!”
  302. >She’s right, though.
  303. “True enough. Hey I’m gonna go take a nap. You can stay here if you want.”
  304. >You turn and head back up the stairs but she stops you.
  305. >”Hey…”
  306. “Hm?”
  307. >”Do…do you thin…would you mind if I slept next to you for a little while?”
